50+1 is a thing you can experience. There are clubs in the German third league that have more spectators than clubs in EPL or La Liga. Going to German football games is about celebrating football

Scrapping 50+1 would probably lead to Bayern getting some massive investor =, making the league even less competitive.
Not as if scrapping 50+1 means investors will all of a sudden become interested in Freiburg or Koln, Bundesliga needs to figure out how to increase the financial power of the other teams within the 50+1 framework. The move to distribute TV rights more evenly is a good start.
scrapping 50+1 would do nothing for competitiveness, it would only make the fan experience less valuable, and at the moment that is the one thing the Bundesliga has that no other top 5 league does.
Or a huge investor could take over a club like Dortmund and make the league more competitive.
Could turn a team in a great city like Berlin into a powerful European force.
You clearly haven’t seen the how this worked for the Premier League or in Paris. If they scrapped this 50+ 1 rule Berlin and Hamburg would be the first teams to get international investment because they bigger cities Munich and when success comes they would have a big fan base in economically powerful regions that could surpass Bayern on the field and commercially. Man City, PSG and Chelsea are all in the top 6 most richest clubs in the world because they are successful teams economically powerful regions of London, Paris and Manchester where they can sell out stadiums, charge high prices and grow their fan bases in highly populated areas. Part of the problem with 50+1 is it locks teams in Germany into very amateurish fan ownership models so Bayern only have to compete against small city clubs like Dortmund or Leipzig so will never be at the level of Bayern economically and the big city clubs have bad fan fan ownership. 50+1 will lead to professional ownerships of the big city clubs that will be a real threat to Bayern

Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheneim all are not subject to 50+1 and for all intents and purposes RB have gutted 50+1. Over the last two years Jetta’s main investor has spent €250 million on players. Why haven’t they challenged Bayern?
It's still not enough to challenge Bayern. Can Leverksuen, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim spend 70m on one player? Can Dortmund do that? Without financial competence, there is very little competition on the field. Look at the squad Bayern have and look at the others. Bayern face the same issue because they have a thin squad as compared to others in Europe.
@@ganeshramchandran5553 Perfectly summed up 😁👏

Exactly..but berlin already invested 200 million and nothing happened to them?

But Frankfurt has won the Europa League this season, Bayern won the Champions League 2 years ago?
Well in the past years English teams have been buying more talents from Bundesliga than Bayern, if this trend continues we'll have to go to London to see best German players play each week. There is no way Bundesliga teams can compete with billionaire club owners who spend money for fun. Something has to change, maybe Germany can return the tax money from players contracts to the clubs, that way the club's spending power can become maybe twice as much
Oh yes, let's tax everyone and everything but not football clubs to avoid their pockets from running empty....
@@MrAlpaca19 Many countries give tax relief to sporting clubs, Germans have three choices, 1- Keep the 50+1 rule and become a second tier league that only germans watch on their weekend for fun, 2- Accept Arab sheikhs or Americans as their club owners and forget their club's cultures, or 3- Give their clubs some tax relief to help them compete with the rest of Europe. Love the tie, Stevie!
The Premiere League has its problems to and that problem is only getting worse. City won 2 of 5 titles from 2011/2012 to 2016/2017 or a third of the titles, but from 2017/2018 to the present, 5 seasons, City won 4 of 5. They now have Haaland. They may need to institute something similar to the NFL draft rule. Part of the reason you don't see such rules is because the English want to have the best team in the world and unlimited money fuels that hope! It also fuels the disparity that has produced an EPL that is in reality two leagues: a league at the top consisting of just 2 teams; and then everyone else!

Why do you guys keep asking a Ex Dortmund and Ex Frankfurt player about Bayern??
This Jan guys know nothing about Bayern ffs stop it ESPN
France and Germany are two Nations that produce excellent football players yet their leagues are boring. Something has to give.
One thing i truly dislike about football. Every league is dominated by one or two teams. Even with relegation and promotion from the lower leagues certain teams have a clear advantage with funds. How is it ok as a football supporter to know that your team will never compete with clubs like that within the same league because of the amount of money they're allowed to use on players? Why can't it be regulated globally by FIFA? Are they afraid if they cap spending euro clubs wont have the pull to romance south American players to those big leagues? idk why its like this and why everyone is ok with it.
How is it ok as a football supporter to know that your team will never compete with clubs like that ?
Because fans are supporting there club no matter what.
It is not about winning it all. It does not matter to win all the time.
It is about celebrating football, the club, the city or the region the club belongs to.
That said. Yes i would support a financiall fairplay system. If globally would be managabel ? I do not think so. Its allready hard to have it in one country not speaking about regions or world.
when Jurgen Norbert Klopp leaves Liverpool , I'd like him to go and win the league for Napoli but I'd love him to go back to Dortmund and stop that Bayern Monopoly
He signed an extension till 2027.
I think he would either go to Basel or try a smaller laliga club like Villareal. Villareal is a small town like club. Suits his style. For Basel, he did said that if he did not win anything in Liverpool within the 3 years as promised, he would end up in Switzerland.
Funny how PSG's dominance in ligue 1 is derided and I'd used to explain why they won't win the CL but it's never used against Bayern
Because they're snobs. They think certain clubs have a devine right to success and others don't.
maybe because bayern won 6 champions leagues while playing 11 finals, while qatar saint germain won 0 CL? gotta think before saying dumbshit
Because one has played 11 finals and won it 6 times, how many does PSG have?
@@alexandruciripan2781 that makes no sense. When Bayern won and played those finals they weren't winning the Bundesliga every season. Plus Bayern twice as old as PSG is so they had a significant head start.
@@jonpool9030 It is the truth, PSG success will always be determined by CL.Also Bayern has 6 won and another 5 finals played that they lost, so the CL is not a hurry but when you spend more than 1 bilion € in tranfers you are expected to fucking win it
Good we need some arsenals and Man Uniteds in there
Bayern Munich won’t be winning bundesliga every year once Lewandowski leaves, his amount of goals made the league lopsided. Don’t get me wrong, Bayern Munich will still win plenty of future titles, just not every year like now.
It has never been close
You are talking like lewandowski was messi of this team who used create and finish, he needed thomas muller and other forwards to score goals, they have sadio mane and few other players, it will be close title racwe but bayern will still start as a favorites.
Just erase the league and give the trophy every year to Bayern lol
ucl champions 2 years ago, European cup champions this year… what is uli on about?
I am proud of the 50+1 rule. Germany has some of the best atmospheres and fan cultures in Europe, Always packed games, always affordable, the beer is affordable. and German teams have won the Champions League and the Europa League more recently than French or Italian clubs, so I'm unsure why people are saying German clubs cannot win in Europe.
I personally would hate if my team was bought by some war criminal while the fans lose their say in the club... I'm proud of our teams winning in Europe DESPITE the 50+1 rule. But also they should into breaking Bayern's iron grip on the league, which as is mentioned in the video wont be guaranteed if the rule is abolished, as then Bayern will have even more money.
You know I have heard a lot from English fans about how they wish they had the 50+1 rule so they could save clubs like bury fc or derby county or whatever. A bunch of clubs in England have been bought by billionaires so only a handful of clubs can actually win the league. I’d rather watch bundesliga over English premiere league or la liga any day.
English fans just like the idea of having more power and know nothing about the reality. Just look at Hamburg that should be the second biggest team in Germany if not bigger than Bayern but because they are run by clueless fans, they are in second division. Being passionate about something doesn’t mean you have the skills to run a football team correctly. Part of the problem is Bayern is the only German team run like a Premier League team and the rest of German football is very amateurish due to 50 +1 that is why Bayern have won 10 titles in 10 years, so you comment that 50+1 has made Bundesliga more competitive than Premier League is quite frankly ridiculous given the Premier League has had 5 different teams win the Premier League in 10 years. And if you were to ask English fans if they would want 50+1 rule if that meant only 1 team would win the league for the next 20 years and 100% would all say no, because it is the competitiveness of English football that makes English fans love the game, where any team can beat any team. Big investors has made Premier League teams more professionally run not just in the Premier League but in the 4 divisions and this is leading to England producing better players for the national team, where national teams like Germany and Portugal are stealiNg English developed talent.
@@Delboy0 the fans don’t run the day to day operations in Germany, it’s still the managers, presidents and so on. The only thing the fans really have a say in are ticket prices and concessions and such. The reason why Bayern have been so successful is for years they just buy the best players from the bundesliga whenever they lose the title. Case in point lewandowski was bought by Bayern after Dortmund had two straight titles. The reason why Hamburg went down to the second league is bc of mismanagement by the office, not the fans. And as for the premiere ship being better talent wise? Yea that’s true but when every other team is owned by an American billionaire, or a Saudi prince, or a Russian oligarch (granted he lost the club) or a Chinese corporation, yea you’re gonna get bigger names when the owners can shell out 100 million pounds or euros or whatever. It’s the same in every sport. Sure Bayern have won 10 league titles in a row but they haven’t won 10 cups in a row. That competition is very competitive. just bc a club like Hamburg is “big” doesn’t guarantee results. They have a youth movement going on now and they’ll be back up next year.
@@KarpeDM1860 What are people going to mainly focus on? League or cups. You said only a handful of clubs can win the premier league. Only a single club can win the bundesliga so why would you rather watch that than either la liga or premier league. The logic isn't making sense.
@@Delboy0 You clearly don't watch germany. Most of Germany's players play in Germany
50+1 doesn't need to go, it needs to be tweaked. Instead of applying on investment, 50+1 should be applied to board room representation of clubs as in 51% board members from fan associations of the particular club. That way clubs will be able to spend any amount of money, their investors are willing to and still remain fan owned.
lol why would any billionaire want fans to control their money.
@@The_Real_Kal-El You probably don't know that 50+1 makes bundesliga clubs majority fan owned. And if so there should be no hesitance in extending that ownership literally.
the other way around is the way to go.
Do not tell me that Football Fans in UK or Itally are happy when there club is ruined by investors. Or they can"t affored ticket prices anymore.

I get the frustration against state own clubs but that business model will not stay forever, our business model has been successful for over 100 years. I rather see Bayern win the next 10 years than having investors ruin our clubs like Hertha, 1860,..
Why wouldn't state owned clubs remain forever? The states are diversifying their assets and football is one of them, away from oil. The final nail in the coffin was Newcastle. No point supporting clubs when once Klopp and Guardiola leave, City will remain having the money and Liverpool will have to buy cheap.
