In my opinion it’s a great car. Beautiful design inside and outside and high tech. Stands out all the other ev SUV’s around from china, Japan, Germany and the US. Good range and loading speed, not the best loading speed but good enough for the few times it is necessary (I’ll usually charge at home).
It's interesting how Renault despite being a relatively smaller car maker, is making the most compelling European EV. They seem to be hitting design, equipment and price right. May not be as cheap as Chinese but seem much more compelling than VW, Stellantis, hell even MB and BMW.
We had three Renault scenic’s over the past 20 years, they were our favourite cars. We loved the double sunroof of the original scenic, and all of the little cubby holes under seats behind chairs, wherever they could put them. This is not a bad car at all although I imagine the price in Ireland is going to be north of €50,000.
I really love the design, reminds me of the 3008 Was sitting indide during the Munich Motor Show last Sept, the rear legroom was jaw-dropping Great review!
Great review Derek. This does tic alot of boxes for a compact family suv but there is alot of competition in the segment so price will a big factor when it comes to sales.
Thank you for the review which had several details I did not get on other sites. I do not want a Scenic but what interests me is how Renault have used the Renault/Nissan underlying platform. Given the pricing for this car in continental Europe, their platform looks pretty competitive. For instance quite a bit more competitive than Peugeot on their Stellantis platform. The VW/Ford platform has wonderful engineering but lost its way when VW decided to do their own software which even now is still not very good. The one which looks a winner to me is Geely with their various mostly European sub brands. My hope for Stellantis is that Alfa Romeo are allowed to do something really good. So this car shows just how distinctive you can make something built on a really good EV common platform. Let’s have more.
From the Zoe Ev, 10yrs later, this Beast. After the Zoe it was just Hybrids & surely this is Alien tech from Area 51. Thats what it feels like. Amazing car.
Another review I saw they had 3.3mi/kWh efficiency so came out at 287mi range real world based on their driving at the same event. That storage in the rear though is very deep and not easy to get heavy things out is lifting it up and out.
Yea, the Electfying review! I think we both need to get it back to UK and Ireland respectively and test it on our road and in our climates. There is a boot liner and false floor you can get. I'll stick it up on my socials soon
I really do like it. the front reminds me a bit of honey comb. the back harmrest is really good. I really like this scenic but I can feel the price is going to be high when on the market but finger crossed it's not too high in Ireland. just wonder why they didn't continue with the alpine blue floor in the front and only in the back?
Derek, looks like a great package from Renault. Price will be key to its success. Great to see cars with a range close to 600km. Does it have V2L capability?
Thanks Derek for the great review 28 degrees you have do have the life UK pricing comes in late thirties early forties depending on spec and battery size so i suppose early forties starting off here in Ireland maybe would bring it to kia e-niro range maybe. Well done anyways

This is something I'd be really interested in but as always we generally get priced out of it in Ireland. Such a shame. I expect this will probably come in around the 55k mark which is a serious stretch for most families, including myself. Time will tell I suppose. Nice review 👌
@@NevoEVReviewIreland yeah I'd hope so too. 45k wouldn't be the worst. I've seen some new Megane e techs touching the 50k mark so I'd be concerned this will be more given its extra size and appeal to families.
Looks like a great package. First SUV that I'd actually consider (but would prefer an estate). However the Megane launched wayyy too high in price here in Ireland and, though it's a nice car, was at a premium for what it was. It's price has dropped with competition and also to make room for this Scenic in the line-up but if it's €40k in France then we're probably looking €50k+ in Irish market. I'm sure some will still go for it but, in contrast to ID.4/TM3 pricing, it'll hardly be a value proposition. Pity but, as I say, great overall package!
I assume it’s bigger than the Megane but looks similar. The megane is better looking though. I like the interior a lot. Very good but will probably be priced fairly high
@@NevoEVReviewIreland How is the seating position compared to Megane? Is it similar, or more like a 'chair'? Do you feel like you sit much higher than Megane? Cracking review!
I test drove an Iconic. I liked your Alpine interior. The Iconics you looked at it are £47k with metallic paint but the entry level Techno in the red is £37 and a half. However without the fancy panoramic roof I think the very dark grey interior, its going to be rather gloomy as the Megane was. Happily, the new ones have a light grey headlining, which makes a big difference. The front is a bit marmite, the side looks like any other suv. The concave rear with those sticking out bits looks a bit odd. Acres of room in the back but those arm rest tablet holders didnt look very durable. Very quiet and smooth. Although the controls are meant to be the same as the Megane, I found the driver's screen too busy. My test drive was in the misty growing dusk and I dont believe the steering wheel controls were illuminated. Also efficiency wasnt very good at 2.8. I wouldn't mind a Techno but Renault's finance deals are terrible at present. I'd like to see a Techno when it arrives in June, though
What i dont unerstand is why since makers are bringing out new designs of electric cars they are so futuristic lookig compaired with the previous ice ones....I love them apert from the looks of Teslas....with no grilles..even if there fake..they look too plain imo.
A bit of recency bias maybe? Don’t see much that improves on my Ioniq 5, which also has a bigger boot and faster charging. The 2025 Ioniq 5 refresh looks to address all of its comprises too. If Hyundai stop kidding themselves with current pricing it should be top or top three in the segment.
Nissan Ariya carries more of scenic characters and ethos than this one. This just looks like another generic SUV. Scenic MK2 and MK4 were the best in designs in scenic generations. Scenic is all about simplicity, softer lines with cozy family oriented design inside out, large views all around especially sides and front, light (beige or off white) airy interior. Non openable glass roof without real fabric shade would be a pain in summer. They should really bring back the real Scenic, not another SUV clone from their current line up. If people want suv there are a bunch out there not to mention even their current line up. I don't mind high tech but this is not Scenic design.

Great review. How effective was the opaque setting on the sunroof? Did it feel noticeable if can remember? 😉
Very much blocking out the sun!
The new Renault design language is superb.
Nice review. Does it have wireless Apple Carplay?
Yes it does!
I think it looks the part. Really like that colour. Wonder what the non alpine version looks like that most will buy.
Will the false floor make a flat surface with the seats down?
This is a deal breaker imo.
Will check when I get it in Ireland
It looks very nice. I assume won't be sold in the US.
I don't think so unfortunately
Do you really think we will see it this year? Some dealers are saying it’s a year away
I like it. Its very classy and clever. Renault need to price this around €40,000 to €48,000 to be competitive in the segment.
