For VTA bodies I absolutely luuuuv the McAllister 1970 firebird.
    #295 regular for asphalt
    #295L .25 for carpet.

That is really nice. Curious, I see the difference is .030 vs. .025 for the L version. Do you like the .030 for asphalt to help the car roll and load the tires better?

Do you have any input on the #286 1969 Mustang VTA body? That one looks nice and wide in the rear wheel wells.

@telecomandorc indeed I do! Gave it to a fellow racer to mount on his AE 7.1...
      Wasn't bad in 25.5 vta.
We also threw some 21.5's in our vta chassis' ...
      It liked the higher speeds..lol.
Good body but you'll need some tall front body posts

@@telecomandorc that is 100 percent correct. Low grip parking lot/unprepared asphalt fits the thick one.
The "L" is dialed on hìiiiigh bite tracks. Especially crc carpet with a solid alloy chassis

I'm also still on the hobbywing g3r 25.5.
We have a few racers that have slot machines.
The track owner lets em run them.
I don't mind either. I'm ok on speed but R1 is fastest at our track

Here, once and a while there will be a guy that will bring a car to the main and blow everyone out of the water. Not as much now. But I have been having fun just running different motors and testing them for fun. I keep the same relative setup, and do motors for now. On the 17.5T TC I have been doing tires. I have some spring changes on another. So, I hope to compile and do some videos come December.
I did fry the g3r... on purpose. I have pushed others too. The gt3 can take punishment. Next race I will test my Helix at lower timing and higher gearing. I usually set motors to 5A (no load), but I think if I drop the timing a bit and bump up the gearing, I might get better results as far as similar speeds but lower temps. We will see.

@telecomandorc what motor by chance did your fellow racer run?
Curious to know. My g3r was faster on lower timing. Like 33 degrees (endbell and motorlyser) were spot on.
She only pulled 2.2amps and around 1700kv but man could she take a gear.
I tuned it to 46 degrees and 3.9 amps 1998kv and I don't like it

@@donnienicholson180 There is a combination. Some run Team Powers.
But your experience supports my suspicions. One of my race mates is running a HW and he just went down from a 3.8FDR to something closer to 3, and the temps were great. Obviously some timing involved. I will see how the Fantom Helix does.
