When she is connected and committed to the live performance, some kind of magic happens!! Mariah is undoubtedly one of the best vocalists of all time! Like someone said here before, better than the record!! I first heard her on a televised show and for years after, she was, in my opinion, better live than in the records!!
Mariah Carey's best vocal eras to me are 1990-1992 (Growling, whistle notes, and belting) 1995-1996 (Tone, and runs & riffs) 1997 (Whisper Tone, runs & riffs, soulful and raspy) 2001-2003 (Whistle notes, and belting) ... I think Mariah can still sing but she just gotta change how she approach singing.
Mariah really nailed this performance. The vocals were gorgeous and sounded effortless. This is a very underrated live vocal performance by her and I hope more people will see it!
umm are you sure you know what you're talking about, she gave her best ever performances of make it happen, hero and vision of love on tour in 95/96. just look at a lot of her european promo performances in 1994, her voice was really hoarse like it was on the music box tour. her vocal prime was definitely 91/92 and then again in 95/96
@calvin999999999 woah woah woah.... i have to disagree... 92-94 was her vocal prime (Music Box/Merry Christmas era)...she was struggling to sing songs like Hero, Make It Happen, and Vision of Love in 95-96 because her voice was getting thin.

excellent! Her voice is same as in the record.
I think this is way better than her 05-06 part lipsync performances. You can hear that here it is her real live vocals, with a very interesting tone.
3:05 so epic OMG Mariah and her backup singers it's awesome

Her singing I STILL BELIEVE!!!! Looooove it!!!!!
0:57 Her voice must be in good shape here because she always had a voice crack on "wouldn't"
Absolutely. Nodules showed up at some moments but she was well rested for that song. She did an amazing job !
