Thank you so much. The other tutorials are all outdated and don't help new players like me. I bought arma 3 like 2 weeks ago and didn't understood how laser gbu works. This helps me a lot man thank you☺️👍🏻
That's great stuff. Any particular ARMA tutorial you would like to see? I did this one for some of the guys on the server I play on but dont mind making more.
F, turn laser ON, ctrl+right click, ctrl+T, aim at target, ctrl+right click, select bomb, line up target with target pod cursor/ocular view, left click. Boom.
beenreally looking into getting into the jets in ARMA after playing it since arrowhead it looks like a lot of fun especially in KOTH. Now I know why it's so easy for the jet pilots to frag heavily.
@@DethChikken when you're on your map hold shift and left click I think. Been a long time since I played it and not all game modes allow it to work. Hope it helps
@@grantgeronimo2767 Cheers. Do you have a time on my vid where I said to press R? I haven't played pretty much since making this vid so can't remember what it does. I think R was my keybind for lock next target but could be wrong.
I believe whatever the targeting pod is aiming at will show as a small cross hair on the HUD if you look around. However I do not believe you can aim it while flying only when in the targeting pod screen itself. Sorry haven't played the game since uploading this so not 100% sure.
It depends what mod you’re running. If you’re asking what I think you are, on vanilla aircraft, the indicator for where your targeting pod is looking is going to be that small dotted line circle. With other mods sometimes it’s a dotted line crosshair. So you could lock your targeting pod to a target and then turn until your notice which side that reticle is on in your hud and center yourself on it. Sometimes I use it to help with lining up for landings.
I'll be honest I havnt played since making this video but it should be under view tab in the control settings. It should be your default zoom in and out control.
It may be something disabled of you're playing on a server or something. I haven't flown on arma since making the video so couldn't say other than that sorry
I know this is an old video, but I see that your explanation helped me learn how to correctly drop GBUs, however - I still cannot grasp the correct steps on taking rocket shots on enemy helicopters/planes. Can you give me a little bit of help with that? I'm playing with friends on DRO maps and I'm usually air support because they enjoy hearing my plane passing by and taking shots - however I've always failed at targeting enemy air support when they arrived. They keep telling me that pressing "T" is how you target but it never actually targets them.
Hey buddy. I also press T which is for "next target". However I believe for it to work you need to turn the planes Radar on. I haven't played ARMA 3 since recording this video but I think the key combo is "Left Ctrl + R". I could be very wrong so please check under controls for either aircraft or common. Would like to get back into this game and flying again it's such a great one. Let me know if this helps hopefully I have remembered the reason why haha.
@@DockerzGaming Thanks for replying so quickly - I'll try it later when I play with the A-10 to try it out. Do you remember which rockets are good for targeting? Pretty sure some of them are only going straight forward.
If I remember rightly the Wipeout has: 2x heatseaking air-air rockets that require lock ons. 2x rocket pods that are free fire so no lock on just fire off a few where the hud shows the impact point. 4x Laser guided bombs that can also be dropped without lock. 4x Air-ground missile that require lock on. And of course the GAU-8 cannon for just shedding everything apart. You asking this has made me redownload the game haha. Need to get back to it 👍
I've just done a search for the default load out to give you the exact names. Nearly had the loadout correct it's 6x ATG lock ons. 1x Gatling Cannon 6x Macers. (lock on Air to Ground anti vehicle) 4x Laser guided GBUS 2x shrieker rocket pods(free fire no lock) 2x Falchion 22 AAM (Air to Air heatseakers require lock) Hope this helps ask away if you have anything else I will try remember.
Hey…I have none of these controls and even the HUD doesn’t show up…is there something changed in my settings I can’t find anything and I’ve been combing
Hey buddy. Unfortunately I haven't played ARMA since making this video but I will give a couple details I can remembwr. That's weird the HUD isn't showing. Could be a setting somewhere that's disabling it. With the controls most of them are under the plane control settings but some of the weapons controls and targeting camera controls are under the weapon control tab for some reason. Apart from that it may be mods or server settings that are conflicting and disabling stuff. Hope this helps and sorry I can't give you more details.
I have my keys rebound but I believe they are: In cockpit : right click In targeting camera : numpad +/- Check controls under view tab for aim weapon and zoom optic I think they're called. If not in there check the common tab. Hope it helps.
If I remember rightly the default jeybind is "N". It should cycle through standard/nightvision/black hot/white hot thermal. Hope I've remembered rightly Haha 👍
Make sure you're in side chat then double click the map to add a marker they can see. The top right of the map window you can change the marker type that will show up. As for drawing lines I cant remember to be honest I never done it.
You dont need the laser just select the air to air missile (cant remember the name) then click next target to lock. You have to get within a certain range and it should then give the diamond to show you can fire. Been ages since I flown it but believe this is what I did.
Played ARMA 3 to learn how to drop bombs. It still doesn’t seem like I can just fly towards a Target, that’s targeted and lazed, and release a GBU and have it hit. Absolutely, with my current method, would I not be able to hit a moving target. I’ll try again another day. But man is it fun using AG missiles and GBUs. Up until now I’ve been mainly a Trooper and occasionally a helicopter pilot. Then one day Dog Fighting. 😂
would like to say good video only 1 suggestion. Someone like me thats completely new wouldnt be able to follow, at 3:313 you switch to your air-to-air guns, it would be huge if you could actually say what missile is air-to-air.
The server I played on was Typhoon Gamers which I think was an epoch server. Haven't played the game online for years so I honestly can't say sorry. Maybe search for an Antistasi server they are good missions I hear.
