    Hi Zohair, I am currently a grade 10 student in Van BC. I am studying pre cal 11 in school by doing math 10 in summer school, as this semester ends, i expect a 85% for pre cal 11. I want to study architecture and heard they value your math skills a lot. I am afraid that even though I get good averages in grade 11 and 12 later on, they would dislike my precal 11 mark. Should I retake the course and strive for a better grade? (Im afraid universities dont like retakes) Or should I stick with it and just have a good GPA.

    • @ZohairAnsari
      @ZohairAnsari  3 года назад

      Universities like U of T value your Grade 11th and 12th grades more than the grades you got in 9th and 10th. So I'd suggest you not retake the course, stick with the existing grades and strive to get really good GPA in 11th and 12th.

      SAT is Optional, it's good is you take it but it's fine if you don't. A good score will help your application, but not submitting a score won't harm your application.
      You'll need to submit your predicted grades because all students do as they do not receive their final results before the application process.

      Looking at your scores, I think you'll have a good chance of getting admission at U of T. I can't say for sure, which scholarship you'll receive, but if your score is above 95%, you'll have a good chance of receiving U of T's International Scholar Award which I received. You can check it's video here. ruclips.net/video/3R6MivWzGR8/видео.html
      Your CBSE English will not be considered for the English Language Requirements and so you'll have to take any English Test to prove your English Proficiency.

You can also meet it by taking TOEFL, Duolingo Test etc. You can only be exempted from english language tests if you studied in a country where English is a widely spoken language. So if you are from Indian subcontinent, you'll have to taken an English Language test to study at U of T. Also, this is my personal suggestion that it is better to take the any English test, because it is also used in the student VISA application, so you'll have no issues with regards to your English while trying to Canada. You can check all the English Language Proficiency Requirements here future.utoronto.ca/apply/english-language-requirements/

    • @ZohairAnsari
      @ZohairAnsari  3 года назад

      Thanks for reaching out !
      Universities recognize that there are various changes happening in schools around the world due to Covid and the subsequent shift towards online learning (even the changes in grading systems), So do not worry about being considered differently because everyone is going through the same process and for you studying in Ontario, it should not be an element of concern 😉
      Though I can't predict your chances of getting in, as a general rule of thumb, any one with grades above 80-90% has good chances of getting in.
      Whether or not you'll be required to submit supplementary application depends on the specific life sciences program you want to apply to.

      2. I was referring to high school academics i.e., your grade 11th and 12th exam scores.
      3. This is up to you and depends on your interest. If you are passionate about volunteer for a specific people and purpose, go ahead. There aren't any fixed number of hours that will guarantee you admission but try to be consistent with whatever you decide to volunteer for.
      4. Currently, I don't know of anyone who can help with admission, but whatever your questions are for me, I'll be happy to help you 😀

    Do you know anything about it? if that's so please let me know. Btw thanks, your videos have helped me a lot!

      There aren't any entrance exams for U of T undergraduate programs. At least, I wasn't asked to submit one. Probably, it will be about English Proficiency Test scores. Can you send me the screenshot of it on Instagram? instagram.com/zohair_ansari_/

    Hi I'm currently studying in grade 12 (2021-22) so when is the best time I can apply to u of t? Will it be okay if I give some time in preparation and apply next year?

    • @ZohairAnsari
      @ZohairAnsari  3 года назад

      Hi there, thanks for your comment. You have both options available, you can either apply for the fall of 2022 which will directly start after your Grade 12th or you can take a gap year (which I did, because I didn't know what to do 😅) and then apply for the fall of 2023. Also, there isn't much preparation required for submitting an application to U of T, so I'd recommend you to apply in Grade 12 👍

      One more thing😂 do u of t accepts duolingo english test?

    • @ZohairAnsari

      Yes, it does ‼ "The minimum requirement is an overall score of 120. Subscore results must be submitted. Results from tests completed before July 15, 2019 will not be accepted." - U of T's website (future.utoronto.ca/apply/english-language-requirements/) 👍

      Don't worry too much about the English Language Requirement. You can submit any English Test accepted by U of T as long as you meet U of T's minimum requirement for that test. They don't prioritize one test for the other, it depends on your choice 👍

    I want to pursue BBA from U of T. I did not perform very well in 9,10 and 11 grade neither was I involved in any extracurricular activity but I am expecting above 95 percent in my class 12 CBSE board exam. Also I am planning to start an E-Commerce business after 12. So are there any chances that I will be admitted to U of T and will I receive any scholarship??
