- "We were made to believe, with all our conviction, that our daughter's life was not worthy of living..." says Ali Allawala, reflecting on the trauma that he and his wife Farzeen faced soon after the birth of their first daughter, Alaiyah.
Alaiyah was born with a diagnosis of Down syndrome.
"When everybody gave up hope on her... she fought back," says Ali, as he recounts the inspirational tale of resilience that is manifested not only in Alaiyah's life, but also in the Karachi Down Syndrome Program - which Ali and Farzeen co-founded in 2014.
KDSP provides various services for children and adults with Down syndrome - and guides their caregivers into ensuring that their development and integration into 'typical' society does not suffer because of the stigma associated with the genetic condition.

I myself has a down syndrome baby n i can relate to each n every word u said as Dr's here told us the same thing that our child life is not worth living n did t carry out her surgery as well.... She is a 5 now just with the prayers her life is going or as Allah blessing... I really want to know if u have any branch in lahore to guide is.... I have enrolled my daughter in a special school no n i really want to see her going to normal school.... Can u plz guide me... Thks

There is a treatment for Down's Syndrome that reverses the symptoms and allows the child to appear and grow like normal. The genetic defect can not be reversed, but the expression can be suppressed with this treatment. Please contact me if you have a child with this disorder. WhatsApp 03333008106.
