    How do you format the cover and the inside pages? Also, which do you find better - Kittl or Book Bolt?

    • @reneefclancy
      @reneefclancy  2 месяца назад

      I use both! Book bolt formats everything for me, and I use Kittl for the design when I’m making a children’s story. If I’m just making a maze then I only use book bolt. How that helps!

      @@reneefclancy Thank you! I am new to this and finding Kittl more challenging than Canva.. I used your links to sign up for both :) With Book Bolt I must be missing on where you can design the book. Do you have a video you can link?

    • @reneefclancy
      @reneefclancy  2 месяца назад +3

      I agree - Kittl has a bigger learning curve, but you'll get the hang of it. With BookBolt, once you create a new book and decide the dimensions, it will create the format automatically. I can definitely make a video though to walk through the beginning steps! Thanks for the suggestion!

    Did you do a book of 72 pages? and if not, how did you bypass the rules around the minimum amount of pages?

    • @reneefclancy
      @reneefclancy  2 месяца назад +2

      You only need the 72 pages if you have chosen the lowest quality of paper type. Once you choose the premium color interior paper and minimum page count is 24. Hope that helps!

    Inclusivity/diversity/environmental awareness, ( climate change ). You say the ‘ experts ‘ are all suggesting these are the topics kids should be hearing about. I disagree strongly.
    These are all parts of the agenda of indoctrination that schools ram down their throats already.
    I would stick to the subjects that are close to your heart, and that are beneficial to a child, as material to put in a children’s book. Things to make their imagination soar.

    As a children’s librarian, the flood of AI generated children’s books flooding the market are easily detected junk littering the literature ecosphere. Readers deserve better than this desperate crap!

      Thank you for your opinion. This argument reminds me of the same one that happened when digital cameras became popular over film. People said the quality and strategy of allowing clients to have digital images instead of prints would ruin the industry. But we adapted. There is a place for both AI and traditionally illustrated books.

    • @susanravella6261

      Please provide links to your own, personally authored children's books for comparison.
      Shelving picture books for a career may not provide sufficient skills to judge or evaluate children's literature. But you certainly feel entitled to voice your sweeping criticisms about AI assistance in creating books, without acknowledging the hundreds of thousands of truly dreadful volumes that are sold as children's "literature" that have been published without such aid.
      I blame the printing press. That's where it all started to go wrong...😂

    • @AffectionateSeaOtter

      As an Educator I can tell you from my experience with children that the ARTISTIC value is usually more for grown ups who get the books for the children. If the story is good and the illustrations match the story then that is enough to thrill children. They love a good story and where the illustrations fail their wonderful imagination fills in the rest. So while I like beautiful hand drawn illustrations too, a good story always wins at the end of the day.
