Best jiu jitsu education on RUclips
I appreciate that greatly
Great timing! I was catching my breath in turtle yesterday, and it occurred to me that I'd like more exit options. Thanks for addressing this 😁.
Hey Eli! I’m a brown belt instructor from Boston. I’m a huge fan of yours. I watched this video today to refresh before I taught a defending turtle guard class. The students loved your techniques! We had a blast! Thank you my brother! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks Chris! I’ll be back in Boston around the end of September I believe, doing a seminar at Forged Krav Maga BJJ. Hopefully you guys are on good terms and it would be great to meet you if you can make it out! Thanks again!
@@KnightJiuJitsu that would be incredible to meet you bro! I’ve never heard of Forged, but I’m sure they’re great! My brother owns Boston Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Woburn. I’ll tell my teammates and see if I can get a crew together to visit Forged! Thanks for the invite! You’re also more than welcome to come hang out with us anytime!
@@The_King_sent_me fantastic! I’ll shoot you some more info as soon as the details get nailed down.
@@KnightJiuJitsu that would be great! Thank you!
Easily one of the best instructors in the game. Best school you can go to. If you can make it to Paducah KY, you need to go.
I really appreciate that man!
@@KnightJiuJitsu of course my dude
Thank you so much for these. As a big guy Rolling with higher belts or faster guys I am usually in turtle position. I tried couple of these escapes yesterday and was able to easily get out.
We should have a poll on how many of the people ending up in the turtle feel heavy set. I'm not a big guy, only 106 kg, but the younger, more skilled, and more mobile people will get me here for some reason.
These escapes are all Catch wrestling based, nice to see BJJ guys adopted these moves.
The funny thing about these escapes is that I know them but have trouble executing them. I tend to turtle when I’m exhausted. 😞 thank you for the content.
Just turtle from the start of the round 🤙
Steamroller from a tired turtle has been treating me well 😂 I'd rather be tired with kesa gatame than tired from bottom or turtle for extended periods.
For children
I never knew I needed something so much without knowing it existed until I saw this exit!
That’s a great feeling when that happens!
I was in my nogi class last night and we were drilling an attack from turtle and I just found myself stuck in turtle 80% of the time during sparring. I’m a white belt so I expect to be stuck in these positions a lot anyway but I just found myself wishing I knew a sweep or reversal to help.
I’ve come on RUclips to figure it out and your video will definitely help me a lot. I’m going back tonight so I’m gona see if I can get myself in turtle to drill these escapes etc during some sparring!
I hope these help!
Thanks. I keep getting myself into that position. This videos really help! Can't wait to drill them and apply them.
This was really helpful! I mean, I've never successfully pulled any of these off in a live roll (there's no way the folks I train with would let me peek my head out or clean Granby like that), but at least now I've had something to try instead of waiting for the attack.
I use the first one all the time.. it works relatively well. id say about a 20-30% success rate depending on who you're rolling with which is pretty good in my book
Thanks a lot! I was really looking to increase my options when in turtle
The last technic was fuego I will be trying that escape 👊🏽🔥💯🥋
This is real sorcery to me as a white belt. Thankyou master knight!
Another great video! I just asked a question today in class about a turtle escape. I usually roll away and recover closed guard, but coach always stuffs that. Today I asked why I couldn't roll from him, and he had a body-lock from the rear-quadrant (arms around my torso). He said in that situation, I should stand up, and then the defense is as-if he tried to take my back while standing.
You're a very gifted teacher, thank you for sharing your knowledge
Thank you. I really appreciate that.
I like anything you post. You always provide gold. 🥇
Agreed.
I appreciate that so much!
Best channel to learning more about juijitsu. I’ve been practice this tips , really helps!
I really appreciate that!
That was a seminar right there! Thank you! 🙌
thank you i will be following you , why cant we have coaches who teach effectively what is needed like this except they keep us practicing fancy things , am tired of this , thank you again , it helps a lot because i turtle a lot
Thank you. I really appreciate it.
I’ve been looking for options here! Thank you!
Thank you! Crystal clear and straight forward techniques. OSS
Thanks men for your time.

Nice to see the wooden dummy :)
Great options
Awesome instructions, thank you!
Great video for judokas transitioning to BJJ, sadly it´s too late and have to go to bed but tomorrow I´ll check this with more attention.
Great escapes!
You are my second coach 😁🤙🤙🤙💪
🙌🙌🙌
Nice one as usual ! ,👍💪. Thank you

Awesome like usually!!!
Great video!
Thanks coach, excellent
Great stuff as usual ✨👊✨
Thanks man, always ending up in turtle 🐢
Don't get out... Stay and listen to some Deep Turtle 💪🐢
So good!
Thank you. I'm learning here cause I can't roll..teaching my son.
3 weeks in and I’ve been doing well with your videos. Rolled with a more experienced dude, almost survive and I thought I’d turtle for safety but he took my back anyway and I didn’t block the sides and got choked. Now I’m here thinking how do I stop that from happening again.
Damn I needed this video haha
So this can work for no gi as well. Awesome
Yes, because it's just basic wrestling.
always get in trouble in this position 😂
I think Alex's beard was looking at you contemptuously. It clearly felt none of those moves besides the first would work on it.
hell yeah !!!
Excellent video! Thanks for helping us white belts not get destroyed
This is all magic
Can you make a video of how to escape when the opponent is hugging you TIGHTTTTT when you are at bottom position of full mount, and sometimes they lock their feet together? I would be really appreciate it, that "submission/control" is really annoying.
Edit: I forgot that their entire upper body is make contact with yours and thy are also hiding their head
I’ll work that into the next escapes video I do. I have a couple videos on mount escapes though if you’d like to check them out on my channel.
Gg good explanations....
Wrestling technique
The turtle defense was adapted from Judo by professor osvaldo alves......but since then it was never really ever studied for what it was originally invented as....a defensive positioning.
What is the meaning behind the blue bar on the black belt? I have never seen this before.
I’m a black belt under Royce Gracie. He uses the blue bar instead of red for his black belts.
Are you supposed to kick the leg out that far on the peek out?
Teach us bow and arrow escape
Woah
Can you please for the love of god make a video on how to not crush your nuts when doing armbars? From guard and top
Oss.
Where is that GI from?
That one is from Da Firma Kimono Company. Great gis.
👍👍👏✌
For Al G. Rhythm
🖒👍👌✊
But i dont want to get out of Turtle. Im tired.
That’s fair
This is just basic High school Wrestling. How many wrestling techniques can bjj use and still call it jujitsu??
It’s because turtle is basically referees position
Is it me or are none of these actually practical
Fake tap then as he lets go flip over
