It's still really lame that you have to actually type the numbers in a box....You should just be able to right click anywhere on the chart and be given the option to autofill any box in the trading ticket.
Is a bracket order what you used in Day Trading if not what is the term used for Daytrading. Trying to start practicing but don't know to perform a trade in daytrading in this platforms. Thanks, LOVE how calm and clear you explain and detail every step. I watch a number of vdo on how to papertrade and yours is the best
I thinks it's when he chose day when he specified the time frame... and for day trading a whole day sounds too long so maybe it's the minutes or hour time frames that would have you jumping in and out the way day traders do
Great work but thats for paper trading (demo) if u connect ur broker like binance it doesnt show like this its different there is no stop loss or take profit I do all manually if sb know how to make it work like paper trading it would be awesome
Thank you for your video. I have a quick question about how to set up mullite TP and keep trailing. Such as winning 50% TP and then keeping the trade trailing to the next TP. Thank you
Do you have a video where you discuss your broker and do you use data from the options chain before you place the order? How do you coordinate the two? Thank You!
Thank you for making this video. I was hoping that this would actually address how to utilize the tick section for ask/bid. Can you address that in a future video? Thanks in advance. :)
This doesn't work for scalping. I want to have auto stops added as simultaneously on every trade, long or short, at a preset amount. I can't seem to do this in TV, correct?
Lovely video ... but somewhat with my Trial 30 days ... there is no PROTECT POSTION fuction? I'm using Interactive Brokers ... how do I remedy this situation ... so far I have to manually monitor OR place a far away order and then drag mouse to get the TP and SL around the limit price. Thank you.
How do we adjust the order value on chart to show in dollar amount (as in your video)? This is visible in paper trading but not when placing real trades on Trading View. Thanks!!
Also curious what happened to this feature! The Display Bracket Order in $ or tick only works in paper trades; live just says 'buy limit' or 'sell limit' which is super inconvenient for quick math
Thanks very helpful. Say I want to buy 1000 shares of XZYY stock but would like to be able to take partial profits on the way up. Do you know of an easy way to do this on TradingView? Speed is critical buying and selling fast moving stocks that spike. Thanks again, Nick
What about limit stop loss? Where we have a stop loss and a limit to how low we want to sell in case things go bad.. (price can go way below our stop loss and then bounce back for example).
Awesome tutorials. Question, for crypto you don't need a broker, correct? what is the best broker for features? Also, are there keyshort cuts for adding tics in a limit order?
I do not have the take profit and SL inputs in my order panel. Other people have been asking about this as well in the comments below - can you please respond with a fix?
thanks for the explaination. and what does % mean? on the platform it says that % is "a profit&loss as a percent of the account balance". However, my % of the total account balance number look different from my potential profit or loss, so I'm confused as to what that graph means
sir when i placebracket order and place buy sell and TARGET AT LIMIT PRICE BUT MY BUY ORDER IS PLACED AT MARKET PRICE IT GETS EXECUTED AS SOON AS I PLACE THE BRACKET ORDER WHY SO SIR
i really wish it would just highlight it green and read like the risk/reward drawing does it would be so much less visually annoying if that were the case
Im not liking TV. On meta trader i can place multiple trades of the same symbol with individual entries/tp/sl In tradingview it seems when i add an additional position, it closes the initial one and adds it to the new one. For example i cant have x2 tps, x2 sls and x2 entries at once. It all amalgamates into one full position which is annoying because one your stopped out, thats it you’ve lost both. Even tho technically you may’ve initially wants your first positions sl to be further from your second position.
why the % setting doesnt show the correct number? when u adjust to 150 taking profit, it automatically goes to 0.04 (which is 4%). but a 4% profit of "141 is not 150, its $146.64. anybody knows this? the reason i ask is because i want to adjust my TP/SL on a % base, not price.
Sorry, this video is pretty old so I dont know the exact context. However, a tick is just the smallest amount of movement for a particular asset. So in the case of a futures contract like /ES, that would be 0.25. Whereas, for most stocks the minimum increment of movement will be a penny.

Same problem
Have you got any solution?
i really wish it would just highlight it green and read like the risk/reward drawing does it would be so much less visually annoying if that were the case
It appears you can only add brackets to an existing paper trading order and not a live account.

Hi, I thought TV is only for charts! or do you need to use a broker like Tradestation to trade?
You can connect to a bunch of different brokers and place trades inside of TV
My profit never take profit trad get there only to come right back down
