I thought that one of the son's favourite memories of his dad was getting raspberries from him when he was a little boy. The son was crying as he stood back up, so it clearly wasn't meant to be an irreverent act against a father he had negative feelings toward. He loved his father, and was sharing that simple act, that had brought him so much joy as a child (I'm imagining him giggling and laughing as a little boy while his father gave him raspberries), with him one last time.
    That was my interpretation.

My best friend died today, but like her, this short film made me laugh. She would have loved it. Thank you.

Superb! Wonderfully moving. The outpouring of emotion has so much impact after the belly raspberry. Relatable, funny, sad, great short. Congratulations

Great film! Well written and acted. Thanks for providing a wonderful description to provide more appreciation and for playing the credits in full screen at regular speed. I’m wondering what the original/different interpretation is for the last line “Have a good one.” It is so awkward.
I think the ‘raspberry’ was such a personal act, that the funeral hand forgot decorum and spoke as though he were addressing an acquaintance. I’m not satisfied with my interpretation and would like to hear better. ✌️

hey! director here - your insight on the funeral hand is totally valid - our intention was really just to portray how mundane and pedestrian the act of dying can be - for that man, today is just another job, and even through our best intentions people may say the wrong thing. Hope that is valuable!

Interesting. The undertakers could have waited OUTSIDE and ''had a GOOD ONE....'' whatever.

I think the fact they were there made the comedy even more profound. In a way their reaction is probably how the audience would react so we not only experience the awkwardness but see it presented as well

Yeah but it made the situation that more realistic. Death is not like the movies. Time stops for no one.
And one of the weirdest and most painful parts of losing a loved one is the anger and frustration and reality of the fact that people who are unattached to the situation simply move about like it’s just another day. They’re not even sympathetic enough to be careful with people’s feelings and it’s just a very weird experience.
It’s just so damn weird to be grieving and having your loved one removed and you’re just trying to process anything at all and feeling confused and people next to you are just like “yeah. Damn. Scrambled eggs sound fantastic right now!” While they move your dead relative around and your brain is like wtf??
The way they were behaving is pretty much exactly how it goes in real life. But the film pretty much captured the reality of how everyone behaves so differently around death. And none of it is bad or wrong.
