@FloridaEastCoastFishing Thanks.. it was a perfect way to spend my birthday. The water depth was perfect. Once the sun came out things really picked up.
40 years old HA - I have under ware in the draw older then you , At a young 77 I enjoy following your adventures , Live inland 50 miles from coast , Areas you fish I frequent when I get too go , I still have a 22 ft ft boat that I seldom use , Fell in love with Kayak fishing , so simple and I cover same inshore areas as boats , Keep it going ,
@alanberner-h5j 😄 you might need to get some new underwear 🤔 😆jk. I heard the 70s is the new 50s.🤔 Thanks for following my adventures and watching.☺️ I really do enjoy sharing what I learn from everyone. Hopefully, my adventures help others who don't live so close to the water, get a better idea of what's biting' and how the conditions are. Ya, just something about kayak fishing... I love it. I think I will save up and get a boat one day... but I'll definitely be keeping my kayak. Happy New Year.
good to see you exploring for greener grass. set hook on those black drum like you mean it, if you dont it wont penetrate and they will usually spit it/shake it
I had a similar hookset issue last weekend but with an NLBN 3” paddletail and jighead. I had 2 decent Snook and a keeper Trout managed to spit the hook right before I could land them. I was also fishing a Zman 3” paddletail on a TroutEye jig, doing a comparison. I didn’t lose any fish on the Zman. Not sure why the NLBN jig kept getting unbottoned, the hook point felt good and sharp but who knows
@alexanderren1097 oh a heartbreaker for sure. For me, I came to the conclusion after a few fellow anglers watched and gave me some input.... I had my drag too tight and was horsing them in.😏 Ripped the hook out. 😫 I have to remember when not fishing mangroves or structure...that I need to let them run a little and get tired. The last few trips that I hooked into black drums, it always seems to happen no matter what I'm using. So, it makes sense. Those heavy drums you really gotta play....or u rip that hook right out.
40! Thats young wipper snapper to me. Happy birthday
@neilmaclarty8572 😄 Thanks... hopefully the next 40 years go a little slower..but it seems like the older you get, the faster the time goes.
Great job picking out a new spot. The water depth seemed to be perfect. Great way to enjoy your birthday you young fart. Cheers!
