TY Matteo, as I am placing the battery on the CG, I am used to fly with many configurations. 4S and 3S from 1500mah to 5000mah, the weight changes too, and your own setup will change in function of what kind of flight you planned.
1800mah used on 4000mah. stayed 90 mins from thermals to thermals. Had to go back because of the video battery getting empty :ruclips.net/video/GH_DIL7cRjA/видео.html
it's very scary to be in such high clouds. I also tried to fly out of the fog, but it was only 200 meters high after I took the sun away that's very beautiful and scary to lose my plane.
Hello Rocco and thank you for your comment : the flight weight is today still about 1600 g (including the 4Ah Battery) When it's about thermalling, I tend to prefer lighter batteries.
Hey that’s cool can you tell me all the equipment you use to get this flight and what you call the camera mount that spins the camera What camera you using is it a GoPro session thanks
nice video, I'm getting mine in FPV too. it's not too heavy with a 4s 4000mah ?? by what people say that already with a 2500 mah ca will be heavy ... flytime? (I know that for a glider it varies a lot lol)
Thank you Aerogeek and congrats getting yours fpvborne ^^ I'm used to fly with 2 battery setup : OR one 2200mah when i'm planing to thermal OR the 4400mah when i'm planning to use it like a plane BUT...even with the 4400mah 4S it still take thermals... Here's a link where i'm flying ith the 4400mah's and had to land after 90mins because my battery was empty.....the video battery ! ruclips.net/video/GH_DIL7cRjA/видео.html But i'd say without thermals here is the truth : 4-5Amps for level flying, 12-15Amps by climbing @ 60% throttle....From that you can calculate all type of flights you eventually planned :)
long range fpv for this glider? what do you recommend for this? I want to buy the taranis Q7 what else do I need I want good signal for long range but good price? I see you used Dragon link is there anything simpler without have to get model for TX ?
Hello friend. Is the ASW28 glider good for thermals? I want to buy a good thermal glider in order to get a good flight time. I'm from Brazil and there are a lot of thermals here. And on a few thermal days, with a battery of 3S 2200mah or 3000 mah, how many minutes do you think you can fly? 30 min with a 3000 mah battery?
Hello Vitor ! Due to my changes, the plane weights 1600g with a 4Ah battery. With this heavy configuration It still take thermals very nicely ! I already flew 3 hours with less than 2000mah... Also meaning if you plan to fly this way, I'd suggest not to use a 4000mah but something like 2000mah or even less depending on your thermal conditions. Ofc, this is a half foam plane, nothing compared to a composite/balsa glider witch is even better. Here is a RAW of me thermalling for 90 mins : ruclips.net/video/GH_DIL7cRjA/видео.html
Hi, great video! I enjoyed it so much and it inspired me to order this plane. What is your opinion about it as FPV platform? What advantages and disadvantages for FPV? Do you like it and can you recommend? Thanks.
Hi Alexey and thank you. I think this plane is cheap and not so difficult to convert into a fpv platform. This glider gave me a LOT of fun and pleasure...flying, thermalling, long ranges trips. I think it's a nice one yes : but always depending for what you're looking for. (I have better ones for altitude runs for example) + It's easy and safe to launch ^^
The Mayday Pilots Super, thanks for your feedback! I have MiniTalon for speed long range and Flyfly MDM Fox 3m wingspan glider for aerobics, from ASW28 expect FPV nice slow thermaling, some aerobatics.
