So KamAZ is Kamskiy Avto Zavod, MAZ is Minskiy Avto Zavod, VAZ is Volzhsky Avto Zavod and GAZ is Gorky Avto Zavod
Also BelAZ which is Belarusian Avto Zavod
also - UAZ - Ulyanovsky Avtomobilny Zavod. By the way, the city called in the name of Vladimir Lenin. Whos real name was Vladimit Ulyanov
Also PAZ Pavlovski AvtoZavod

Brands have similar names because they are abbreviations.
MAZ stands for Minskyi Avtomobilnyi Zavod or Minsk Automobile Plant, its from Belarus.
KAMAZ is KAMskiy Avtomobilny Zavod (Kama Automobile Plant) which is in Russian city Naberezhnye Chelny on the Kama River.
Kamaz...famous for their indestructible shock absorbers. Easy to repair too.
I can argue with you. I personally am a fan of the Urals, and especially the 4320 with the yamz238 engine. Where I am, Kamaz trucks die very quickly and cannot get where the Urals are able to get through.

@anyonefortoast6738 Not a reference to a cardy. but track suit pants....as called trackie dacks. A typical Aussie piece of clothing you can wear to the shops. Russell. Its shrimp on the barbie. But after all we only have prawns in Australia.
@@TravellingwithRussell So cardiovascular (as opposed to cardigan?) And as for the shrimp reference, Paul Hogan said "shrimp" in an advert instead of "prawn" for a global audience, mainly American, and that is why it translated so badly. It is still a joke today. 😁👍👍
Top notch 👍🏻🇷🇺 Hope one day the Aussie will visit Russian aircrafts expo.
it will be these same buses but with wings welded to the top.
@@TiMonsor Travelled by superjet this year 4 times. Working good. At par with airbuses you mentioned.
Thanks, Russel. You are covering really interesting expos which I barely could find from Russian bloggers.
By the way, do you watch Australian Supercars championship? It's one of my favourite one in motorsport races.
I wish I had a superpower like you have just to walk around a tell something without paying attantion to the others)
I see others looking over from time to time. Bu i don't worry about anyone. Unless i am truly in their way. Russell.
Сто лет "гармошку" не видела, ностальгия по детству. 😄
Таких в Москве много, они обслуживают высокочастотные маршруты. Рассел.
Thanks! This is interesting. Cool stuff
Thank you. Russell.
And the Thumbnail Caption of the Day award goes to... you sir!
24:08 There is a big difference in buses depending on the company. Just like you showed, the most comfortable city bus in this convention is Kamaz, i don't really like the electrical ones, because they accelerate very rapidly due to hardware and not the driver unlike with combustion engine where driver can archive very smooth and passenger friendly acceleration.
The Chinese city buses are not so friendly as you saw how many stairs they have, this kind of floor raise, can be very traumatic if the floor will be wet, or if you have leg problems or if you didn't hold to something when climbing up or down =)
Хорошая реклама российских автобусов😊👏
wow this is soo nice, wish we had that buses
Thanks for watching. Russell.
Looking forward to see those buses in most remote parts of Russia as soon as possible!
Hopefully some deals were made at this convention. Russell.
Отличный выпуск, приятно слышать мнение без пропоганды с другой стороны 💪
Спасибо за видео🙂
Добро пожаловать. Рассел.
Don't worry. You have a good overview. Technical details are of more interest to fans and operators. Ordinary people look at appearance and comfort 😀
I think this is an amazing video, Russell! Learning about transportation in Russia is fun 😀
Where to the different bus brands' headquarters at this bus convention?
Some of them were from Moscow also Nizhny Novgorod was one of the cities some of these companies build their buses in. Russell. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it.
In Russia, there are many cities where buses are built, in addition to those mentioned, I can add the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny, Neftekamsk, Kurgan, there are also companies that build shift buses based on trucks, one of these Urals with a passenger module behind the driver's cab is located in the city of Miass, there are also Kamaz trucks with a passenger module, they seem to be produced in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, there are also production of truck cranes in the cities of Chelyabinsk, Ivanovo, and this is all just a part. In the city of St. Petersburg, Kirovets tractors are produced, in the city of Rostov-on-Don they also produce special equipment, tractors, combines called Rostselmash
While Western countries are talking about the collapse of Russia and its economy, in my city with a population of 10,780 people in the Perm Territory, pallets are being built on the water so that people can then go there and jump into the water and swim, there will also be a shop there, in addition, they are restoring Soviet Palaces of Culture, interschool stadiums are being built, sidewalks are being built and much more, and in addition to my city and the villages that belong to my city, there are other settlements in Russia that are also improving, billions of rubles are being spent to improve the lives of Russians
Yutong and kinglong have got dealerships in the uk, currently byd have a large connection with alazander dennis where they sell them to London
Front seats is for the bouncers... or tour guide. Some nice buses, never seen rear facing seats in a bus. Good for head on collisions. Never seen USB in a bus in Canada. I would think that they have less buses there due to sanctions. Cool show, cool video. In Canada we need heating AND air conditioning. -40c in winter, +40 in summer... well not quite but close enough.
*What sanctions dude, all buses, trams and other public transport are made in Russia from Russian spare parts and many Russian enterprises don’t give a shit about the sanctions, only those enterprises that had business with Western bastards, mainly the car sector, suffered!*
Canada actually close to climate to European Part of Russia
Yep, we were very happy to get those new opportunities to charge our gadgets in public transport, including metro, and on bus stops using those USB. Honestly I was very skeptical at first; expected those USB ports to go out of service very quickly bcs of poor quality/maintenance services, but surprisingly they work🙂👍.
Moscow public transport is on a whole different level, compared to anywhere in the world. Also there are no bouncers in our buses, because you just hop on and put your transport card to the reader, sometimes they come in and check if you have actually paid for your ride, but i have only seen these guys once this year. Self service is actually very popular in Moscow, there are even self-service counters in the supermarkets. I guess it's easier to loose little money on someone not scanning an item, than to pay sallary for extra cashiers.
@@Bahmund was joking about the bouncer. I should add, we have similar card scanners and self service machines in Canada too.
Very interesting video of the Bus convention in Russia. Our local bus company "Metrobus" part of the "GoAhead group" based at Crawley in West Sussex, England is getting a fleet of Hydrogen powered single decker buses for the "Fastway" services they are built by Wright in Ireland. The hydrgen buses work on the local routes around Crawley and Gatwick Airport. I live in Caterham-on-the-Hill, Surrey and we have buses operated by Metrobus (GoAhead), Arriva (DB) and London United (RATP)
1. I imagine that Gazprom bus is to shuttle workers to gas and oil fields in the middle of nowhere.
2. That guy sitting down outside the window of the bendy bus looked like Zelensky.
3. Yutong electric buses are being evaluated here. Single and double decker. Apparently King Long once tried but the bus company didn't adopt it.
4. I wonder if the convention is small due to sanctions. Oh well. Didn't Mr Putin say it was a good opportunity for domestic brands to make a comeback?
Answering your last question, I suppose sanctions played a role, but also this expo was mostly meant for professionals. In Russia the main buyers of public transport vehicles are, I suppose, the Ministries of Transportation (of federal, local and municipality levels). Also there are not many major suppliers of such vehicles- all of them are present in the video, btw. The goal really is to expand domestic manufacturing, which is probably what any country tries to do.
90% of all public transport in Russia are buses from domestic brands(plus Belarusian MAZ)
@@gxcreatoras far as i know other 10% are:
Ford, Mercedes, Volkswagen & some Japanese small buses
I was a little worried a couple of months back that people would start coming after you for showing us stuff. I've avoided commenting on the elephant in the room this entire time. It's not your fault that you simply walking around with a cell phone camera was dispelling more than a few common myths. You aren't making any determinations about the decisions of world governments here. All you're doing is touring stores and being a pleasant human being. You're also the only Australian I've ever followed outside of the game Chrono Cross.
*Dude, all this nonsense that you wrote has nothing to do with reality, in Russia there are much more freedoms than in the West, we can even say that homosexuals are disgusting Satanists sodomites and you will not get anything for it! For general development, in Russia, filming in public places is legally allowed, including the actions of police officers, and if they are not lawful or law enforcement officers have exceeded their authority, this video recording can help you in court!*
@@UltraTotenkopf Those things are legal in America. We actually make our police officers carry body cams now. And filming in public places, including officers was always legal. Private places can ban it, same as Russia. Why are we arguing? Nothing I said was negative towards Russia.
@@10k-Noodles in russia it's not illegal to film anyhere, except for one's home. Publishing your footage is a different thing though, they have the right to ask you to blur their faces out, but filming is allowed anywhere.
@@Bahmund Have you ever been to Russia to say that, smart guy?🤣🤣
we still have a whole family of Australians in Novosibirsk (Siberia). They also have their own channel.
