4:25 That "peculiar armor layout" is the all-or-nothing armor system, which in reality was by far the most effective method of armoring a ship. But for some reason, in World of Warships it's backwards and a ship can somehow be sunk by repeatedly firing into the non-vital areas.
King George the V was the most heavily protected battleship in the world when WW2 started, surpassed *barely* by Yamato. Who the Hell said she was a Battlecruiser???
Wrong. King George V, armor was 15% better than the raw thickness which in theory made her belt better than Yamato. However, Drachinifel clarified that Yamato was still better protected as her armor was sloped at 19 degrees while KGV had a vertical belt.
Whom ever devised this game doesn’t know anything about this class of ship. The KGV class had armour 25% thicker than the Iowa’s, and British naval armour plate was at least 10 to 15% stronger than US armour. The only one of the class lost fell to air attack without any air cover, which was the fate of many battleships in World War Two. At no time were these ships in danger other than that one occasion. Never did any enemy shell pierce their armour, deck or belt.
Also because most of the torpedoes didn't hit the torpedo protection system, and I heard of a source claiming that British Cemented Armor is around 25% more effective than US Class A armor, so there's that.
@@adamtruong1759 The torpedo hit what is, quite literally, the Achilles heel of ALL Battleships. Then again, WG is notorious for a poor understanding at best of what players want...
Nope, she should be made a tier 8 ships. She used British super charges that allowed her small guns to achieve better penetration than some 15 inch guns while her armor was the best at the beginning of the war, and only barely surpassed by Yamato at the end of it.
They should do alternative BB Lines for Britain and Germany. They could peak at tier 6 with Renown or Repulse for the RN and tier 7-8 for the SMS/KMS , the Germans had some awesome Battlecruisers planned out. The Mackenson Class should make it if nothing else. They could easily do French and Italian BB Lines as well. It'd really be a crime for WG to not bring in the Italian Cruiser Line, given the fantasy Soviet Cruisers already in game. But yeah Renown in her late war layout with 2.0 sigma (they considered her the best shot in the RN and she turned around The Twins in a gunfight) and defensive fire would be a good fit at tier 6.
As for premiums, I'd love to see Vanguard, Ramillies, and the Tennessee Class as rebuilt. Those things were beastly and crazy accurate, fucked up Yamashiro at Surigao Strait.
End of Yamashiro, a Fuso Class BB. Fuso was there but had already fallen out of formation, slowly sinking. West Virginia, Tennessee, and California all shot exceptionally well in that night engagement. I think Tenn or Cali in their rebuilt layout would work at tier 7, give them a 2.0 sigma, Colorado's heal, and 5km stock secondaries. They'd have slightly better aa than Colorado, but not OP given their slow speed. The Tennessee Class had GREAT torpedo protection too. WV would be cool but I'll admit that it'd be majorly OP at tier 7, majorly UP at 8.
IFHE on BB while shooting a broadside cruiser? how about actually teach people to use the AP shells that does more damage and more affect against cruisers? WG get your shit together, clan battle limit clearly showed you can't balance your game and listen to the good players.

Great video! But can we Please get a Armada Montana? Do keep in mind that aging King Gorge V has the 2nd thickest armor of all BBs in WW 2 That where Actually built, Edit: they should re work the British BBs, 1 Nerf Concealment. 2 make the citadel Larger like seen on the Iowa/Montana at least eight there Heal, A ship with the best Heal shouldn’t have a citadel Half as thick as the ship and 2 Meters below the water
But they have already lowered the citadel on the tier 8,9, and 10 American battleships I because of their terrible citadel armour I doubt they would remove those buffs!
Retriever I’m not wanting them to remove that Buff I’m saying to make the High tier British BBs Citadel be at least the same hight The Montana/Iowa”s current citadel of right above the wate, Because having a citadel that is half the Width and 2 Meters Below water along with the Concealment making them to close to citadel by the time they are spotted, If they raised the citadel they would need to actually be careful about going broad side
In game Gneisenau is the planned refit for the 2 ships of the class but it wasnt carried out cause both ships were pretty much destroyed by the time the refit was suppose to start, the refit basically gave them the same guns as Bismarck and Tirpitz
@@jesse8381 The Germans weren't really planning on refitting either of them during the war (as such extensive work would have taken them out of service for too long) but in Feb 1942 Gneisenau was hit in the forward magazine by a British AP bomb while in drydock. After the ensuing ammo explosion she needed such extensive repairs that it was planned to refit with the 15" guns, as she would be out of service for months or years anyway. This is the basis for Gneisenau being used as the 15" model in game. Of course in reality she was never fully repaired and ultimately scuttled as a blockship.
In real life i think first two ships in class KGV and POW suffered huge problem s with loading mechanisam for quad gun housings and ....yes i know it was corrected later but ,Prince of wales was sunk in december 1941 altogether with HMS Repulse and problem with quad mountin 356 mm turets wasnt resolved by then!!!lol😂😂
HMS Prince Of Wale's Quad turret was already corrected after the Hunt for the Bismarck had ended. In her sinking I don't really get how her main guns are failing because in an air attack you don't shoot your main guns, you shoot your Anti-aircraft guns
Because Montana is the worst tier 10 BB, WGing won't give the Mk 8 Shell its actual penetration capabilities, they like having a superbuffed Yamato with godlike shells ruling tier 10. In reality, Iowa was a better BB than Yamato, and Montana would've been the ultimate BB. Yamato and Musashi couldn't hit much of anything at Surigao Strait. BUT, balance I guess....

4:53 king george can restore more hit points than battleships of other nations....... UK BB super heal starts T9.....i just checked wows official wiki for that doesnt seem to me like WG knows their own ships
Uh, yeah, but up to tier 8, all british BBs have the Warspite heal, which can heal 60% of the penetration damage received, while other BBs can only heal 50%. Colorado is an exception, being capable of healing either 65 or 70% of penetration damage (sorry, I don't remember exactly what were the values for her, but like... who cares it's a Colorado, it is born to be bad). I'm certainly not questioning that WG doesn't know their ships. I mean, they just recommended IFHE for the KGV, they recommend an AA build on the GK, I don't know what they smoke but it is damn effective.
no, that's another thing. UK BB can heal 60%, but max heal per repair party is still the same as other nations (0.5% of max HP per sec for 28sec, while colorado has 0.6% per sec for 28 sec). only at T9 do they start getting 2.0% per sec super heal warspite is 0.6% per sec by the way.
I'll clear that up: Standard RN BBs T3-8 + Warspite: 60% of penetrations healed, 0.6% per second, 28s Colorado heal: 50% of penetrations healed, 0.66% per second, 28s Other battleships: 50% of penetrations healed, 0.5% per second, 28s www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/72so82/after_lots_of_questions_about_repair_party/

PoW's AA performed well in the Mediterranean, the only problem was the they faced issues in the South Pacific because of the tropical environment.
HMS King George V and the HMS Rodney sank Bismarck this ship was top of the line in its day.
Prince of Wales kicked Bismarck’s ass and Duke of York sank the Scharnhorst

*denmark straight flashbacks*
and no not shcarnhost (I didn’t spell it right I know)
Any chance of adding HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Renown, HMS Repulse?
HMS Repulse is coming. She'll be a tier VI premium.
Recommends IFHE on British BBs
Flamu: *wait, that's illegal*
Better than the Nelson and Rodney. If I had to tier up from Hood, I'd take the King George.
Great video!
But can we Please get a Armada Montana?
Do keep in mind that aging King Gorge V has the 2nd thickest armor of all BBs in WW 2 That where Actually built,
Edit: they should re work the British BBs,
1 Nerf Concealment.
2 make the citadel Larger like seen on the Iowa/Montana at least eight there Heal,
A ship with the best Heal shouldn’t have a citadel Half as thick as the ship and 2 Meters below the water
The concealment is whats supposed to make the tree unique to other nations.
happy wombat
But them give it a much higher citadel
But they have already lowered the citadel on the tier 8,9, and 10 American battleships I because of their terrible citadel armour I doubt they would remove those buffs!
Retriever
We are talking about the OP RN BBS not US bbs 😐
Retriever
I’m not wanting them to remove that Buff I’m saying to make the High tier British BBs Citadel be at least the same hight The Montana/Iowa”s current citadel of right above the wate,
Because having a citadel that is half the Width and 2 Meters Below water along with the Concealment making them to close to citadel by the time they are spotted,
If they raised the citadel they would need to actually be careful about going broad side
So what I think about this ship that I almost have king George v in like world of warship blitz
Does HMS Duke of York have the same HE capabilities?
Slightly better chance of causing fires at the cost of slower main gun reloaded time's. Compared to the KGV
Colonizing in sight
To me, I think it should be at tier 8 or 9. It is so good❤
I wish this ship was in the mobile version of World of Warships
The music tho
is king george can sink 2 or 3 battle ships by its self?
In real life or in game?
If the player is good yes
Image getting the ship so wrong that you think it’s a battle cruiser. it’s not they were still the all or nothing armour system for all the KGV.
Yuro: *Allow me to explain this battleship*
Lyon is the most interesting tier 7 BB
Will this game be available for 6 more years?
why does Gneisenau have the twin turrets and not the triple turrets in game?
In game Gneisenau is the planned refit for the 2 ships of the class but it wasnt carried out cause both ships were pretty much destroyed by the time the refit was suppose to start, the refit basically gave them the same guns as Bismarck and Tirpitz
@@jesse8381 Thank you!
You can still see Gneisenau's Caesar turret at Austrått Fort in Norway.
How good is this ship for console players? (Hint, hint...)
Ok is this a tutorial for the ship or is it a tutorial on what commander skills do?
She led the last charge against the bismark
Wow brother
It's not even a Battle cruiser ... so i guess they will just take out AP all together soon ...
Can you update the texture of world of warship blitz in Philippine
5:56 ⛴Fail 🤴🏻 King George in most definitely a “HE” not a “SHE”.
lol
If it's a ship and the language is English, it's a she.
With ships, my brain automatically thinks of the name question as that of a lady's.
Hey whats the tachiabana L
Why you didn't preserved one of this ships Britain?
Because of the lack of money
Would be very costly
Another british battleship..... hood.
Bismarck: *confused german screaming*
Hood is technically a fast battleship, basically since the 20s or 30s.
Wish my graphics were that good
After yamato im going down brit bb's and this just made me love them more
Plus KVG had 360mm main guns not 356mm get it right wargameing.
Please add the Prince of wales
Still waiting for the Mighty Penn.....and for BBs to stop being punching bags for HE shells.
Do naval legends on Bismarck please
Umm guys...? Why do you show off an example of battleship captain build using a CARRIER skill (expert rear gunner)? And IFHE for a battleship? Wow.
When will we have a armada on montana
we already have armada with all t10 battleships but not montana
Because Montana is the worst tier 10 BB, WGing won't give the Mk 8 Shell its actual penetration capabilities, they like having a superbuffed Yamato with godlike shells ruling tier 10. In reality, Iowa was a better BB than Yamato, and Montana would've been the ultimate BB. Yamato and Musashi couldn't hit much of anything at Surigao Strait. BUT, balance I guess....
@@nickbrevitz6747 true IOWA was better people only think about armour and gun caliber but forgot about many other aspects.
965 Lebsack Village
*Bismarck Has Left The Chat*
so when are we going to get Prince of Wales?
The Prince of Wales was a sister ship of the King George the V, being a King George the V class battleship herself. There were 5 ships of this class, HMS King George V, Prince of Wales, Duke of York, Howe and Anson
@@callumwilliams1449 Okay, and? So what if we already have two KGVs we need a third if we really want to see the Denmark straight gang.
@@nightshadedawn but why lol
@@callumwilliams1449 cause we have HMS Hood, KMS Bismarck, and KMS Prinz Eugen. Why not have HMS Prince of Whales to finish off the group?
That my next battleship
4:53 king george can restore more hit points than battleships of other nations.......
UK BB super heal starts T9.....i just checked wows official wiki for that
doesnt seem to me like WG knows their own ships
UK BB can heal 60%, but max heal per repair party is still the same as other nations (0.5% of max HP per sec for 28sec, while colorado has 0.6% per sec for 28 sec). only at T9 do they start getting 2.0% per sec super heal
warspite is 0.6% per sec by the way.
I'll clear that up:
Standard RN BBs T3-8 + Warspite: 60% of penetrations healed, 0.6% per second, 28s
Colorado heal: 50% of penetrations healed, 0.66% per second, 28s
Other battleships: 50% of penetrations healed, 0.5% per second, 28s
www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/72so82/after_lots_of_questions_about_repair_party/
Hey, don't knock the Colorado. I love that thing...
Is it just me ot that she looked like hms prince of wales
They're part of the same class. Same goes for Duke of York.
@@botchii3059 ohhhhhhhh
I couldnt believe that this ship is the one who finished off bismarck ;-;
Her own crew sank her
@@sander6438
After the Bismarck was already sinking because it was combat ineffective and dead. The charges sped the sinking up by a few minutes.
The Royal Navy sank the Bismarck, not her own crew.
So it sounds super squishy
Brooo im crying I can't win a single battle with this piece of... is it me or what? Cause I swear this ship makes me cry from frustration, I can't win a goddamn battle
Señor George please help meee😭
Bro use AP not HE
Wg at their best , king George V face Bismarck and won the battle they wanted it as battle cruiser rather then a battleship which it is a battleship.
KGV is a lot like the Scharnhorst, with weaker guns, armor, AA, and no torpedoes! (Okay, the KGV is nothing like the Scharnhorst, except they both are tier 7, and the Scharnhorst is actually fun to play.)
weaker guns you say? Well if you think that 356mm is weaker than 283mm you have no logic in your head. Also KGV has 10 to the scharnhorsts 9. Scharnhorst's advantages are her Speed (better than KGV), better secondary and torpedoes. KGV should have way better armour.
Would be cool if it had 3 turrets with 4 guns in each
Alscace:Allow me to introduce myself
Now they have a 4×4 14 inchs for t9 British premium. I still like Lion way better.
You cant spec IFHE on these
