I like the M80, it allows you to hear more of the cam lobe separation. I am running a close of the Extreme on my 64 C-10 with headers and it sounds really good, but now I will have to run those M-80s on something😂💪🏽
Definitely like the m-80. It has much more of a aggressive sound. Also sounds much cleaner doesn't sound raspy. I just bought the m80 for my ram 5.9 so we will see tonight how it sounds on that. Great video
I just bought a extreme for my 2000 Silverado and I must say. Don’t waste your money..it sounds good whenever u take off but that’s about it. It doesn’t have any idle rumble like at all it sounds stock. Also it’s not as loud as I thought not sure if it’s the model of extreme I bought or what but as of a week after installing I’m not satisfied with it

The extreme is more tamed. And the m80 has more resonance. The m80 is more straight through and doesnt trap as much gas. Both sound good it will boil down to what you are looking for.

The glass pack will sound better without the cats in front of it. For some reason cats just kill the classic glaspack sound. I had the cats removed on my old 2001 Silverado and the glass packs would ROCK!! LOL. They have the beloved cherry bomb crackle. I think with the cats on the extreme sounds better. I drove mine without cats for many years. It will throw a service engine light but otherwise ran perfectly fine and had more power. They really choke a chevy exhaust for some reason. Now my Ford F150 5.0 still sounds great with the cats on it.

how did this turn out? I started with stock resonators and Super44s but was quiet... then replaced the resonators with M80s... not a huge change, still quiet... removed the super 44s and the drone was insane with dual M80s as mufflers, added back a resonator, and it's nice. Next is replacing the M80s with Flowmaster Super 10s

So I left a comment here a while back asking about the m80 and it’s use for myself, I’ve got a 350 small block Chevy with no catalytic converters. It’s a 2 inch exhaust on both banks running out the side. You recommended the m80’s and while I absolutely love the sound they are just a bit too loud for the neighborhood. Biggest thing I need is something around that size in order to clear rock sliders as this is a 4x4 rig, you got any other suggestions? I know it’s hard to gauge these things but I’d say like a 10-15% reduction in volume would be awesome.

Great comparisons I prefer the m80 Has Better tone doesn’t have the tinny sound although they’re very close I wouldn’t spend a dime to change either one of them
Both sound bad ass. But, I do notice some differences. The Extreme has a deeper, bassier, and throatier sound. The M-80 has a hollow echo along with a straight pipe sound. Here's generally the rule of thumb when it comes to mufflers. The smaller and more round the muffler..the louder its gonna be. The more oval and longer the muffler..the quieter its gonna be. So given the real world applications the M-80 is not as deep, has more of a straight pipe, and raw sound. Where as the Extreme has more of a deeper, bassier, and throatier sound. And its a tad bit quieter than the M-80. Also the 30 inch glasspack is quieter than the M-80 but has the same type of sound. And the Pro is louder and deeper than the Salute or Turbo. But they still somewhat have the same type of sound. So here's a good comparison since you did it with the chambered mufflers. Do the Salute Round Vs Oval. You'll really notice a difference there.

It’s like listening to a thrash metal bands demo compared to the final edit. the extreme is pretty aggressive and loud. the m-80 sounds a lot more contained. but you still gotta love the sound of the extreme
Anyone use an m80 on a 4 cylinder ? My current setup is a y to dual vibrant ultra quiet resonators to 4" tips on a 2019 Mazda 3 but it's a little too quiet. Still have stock 2 cats and resonator. Thinking of replacing the vibrants with 2 m80s. Large 4 cyl 2.5, with 13 to 1 compression ratio.

My check engine light was on before I swapped the mufflers, so I don't know exactly. Lol.

Phoenix Productions yes, that is the paint burning off of the muffler. My CB Extreme did the same thing. It’s not red any more.
M80 has more of a growl. Its definitely meaner sounding while running. Extreme sounds better at idle
