    Thank you for making this. He linked to this video on his Chanel. I've been interested in smaller bows since fandabidozi made one for his kit

    Great video man. Maybe do one on how to make bowstring?

  • @Timbyte
    @Timbyte Год назад

    Hi. I am new to bow making, and English is not my native language. Could you clarify regarding following natural bend of the bow? The bend with the string on should be in the same plane as your natural bend?

    • @landroamer1000
      @landroamer1000  Год назад +1

      For a simple bow like this one yes. There are lots of good tutorials on how to fix a bad bend or twist if that’s all you have to work with though. That’s a little above my skill level right now though.

    That was an excellent video. I feel like you gave me enough information and detail that I could go and give this a try sometime without having to go look for other sources for parts you didn't mention. If I give you a bit of creative criticism, add a bit of compression to your voiceover track to help it pop and cut through the music, it got a touch muddy at some points, but was pretty good level wise.

    What kind of wood is that?

    • @landroamer1000

  • @JethroJessop

    This is great, I am absolutely going to try this!
    I love the simplicity of it and I can easily get my hands on some perfect wood for this.
    Really well paced video as well, enough detail for me to feel confident having a crack at it without running too long.
    Is there an equivalent simple technique for making arrows?
    Also, great choice of music! I use that same track on many of my Bikepacking videos. Great minds think alike :)

    • @landroamer1000
      @landroamer1000  Год назад +1

      Thank you! Yeah the if you go with the books instructions, it shows how to make a couple different styles that aren’t very complicated. Lots of people who use modern archery equipment think that the arrows have to be perfect, but they don’t have to be. They need to be well made, but my self arrows fly as good as my carbon ones, at least at my skill level. I’m gonna do a video on arrows some time, but there are lots of great videos out there already

      @@landroamer1000 Good to know.
      I'm no archer at all but I love the idea of making beautiful and useful things using basic tools and foraged materials.
      I recently made a Shepard's sling from palm l leaves - I couldn't hit a barn door with it but the whole process was really satisfying.

    • @landroamer1000
      @landroamer1000  Год назад +1

      Yeah. I used to carry one of those in my pocket. I’d take it out and play with it a lot when there were rock’s nearby. You can generate some serious force with those things! I couldn’t hit anything with mine either though lol.

    Cool video man! And don't worry about your "form" no such thing exists in my opinion. Why there's so many styles of shooting bows and pinch grips for arrows. If the was "form" there would only be one or two used universally. If you can hit targets constantly back to back and in groups,ecetera.thats your "form"

    • @jonajo9757
      @jonajo9757 Год назад

      Doesn't form matter only if you're using high poundage bows that could possibly cause injury and to draw the string back effectively? I'm talking about warbows for hobbyist sake.

    • @landroamer1000
      @landroamer1000  Год назад

      @@jonajo9757 could be! I have noticed though that when I shoot short bows like this I tend to drop my bow as soon as I release my arrow and it sometimes throws my aim off. I don’t know if I was doing that in the video but I do know I look goofy as heck shooting the way I did lol. Thanks for watching!
