Peaches and Cream | Old Fashioned Dessert | National Peaches and Cream Day - June 21 🍑🍦

Join MommaQuickEats as we whip up some peaches and cream for national peaches and cream day on June 21. This is an old-fashioned dessert that used to be popular at expensive hotels in the south back in the early 1900s. Simple but oh so good!
4 peaches
1 teas lemon zest
6 TBS sugar, divided
1 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teas vanilla extract
Optional garnish could include more lemon zest, sprinkles of cinnamon, vanilla wafer granola,and / or a maraschino cherry.
If you don’t have peaches that are riper access to any peaches, frozen peaches can be used. Thaw out and pat dry. Canned peaches may also be used, you may need two cans drain, and if you use canned peaches, you do not need to soak your peaches in sugar.
