Why do Koreans love apartments so much. In my opinion, the ultra rich have their own neighbourhoods with massive houses, private roads and enjoy privacy like Hollywood Calabasas or Hidden hills.They are not cramped up in apartments sharing facilities with others. The roads are so tiny. Also Korean real Estate is ridiculously overpriced. I would choose space and privacy always. If i had that much money, i wouldn't want neighbours.
You can find those houses along Korea's country side. The house from the drama Winter The Wind Blows for example is very similar to Midwest type mansions but the ultra rich just prefer the lifetyle in Seoul.
Two-story houses in rural Korea cost about $250,000 to $500,000. You can buy a big three-story swimming pool and a house with a garden for about $1 million. In fact, many middle-class Koreans move to the countryside. But Koreans prefer to live in Seoul and big cities. In particular, 52 percent of Koreans live apt. Unlike foreign countries, Korean apartments have a modern IT system. And because there are many amenities inside the complex, Koreans above the middle class prefer apartments.

If i am based in Seoul, why would i buy a home in the countryside. It wouldn't make sense. Korea is small so i guess space is an issue. People can only build apartments. Another reason is demand. If everybody else loves living in an an an apartment, that's what developers and investors will focus on. Modern technology can't be the only reason a rich person would want to live in an apartment. @빠이또 The building probably don’t costs as much but the land where the building sits on valued that much. The building needs to be demolished and redeveloped, the least refurbished. It’s outdated. The area is at the heart of Gangnam. It’s one of the most expensive location in South Korea.
You are right, 26 million USD would get you a nice home in LA with a backyard and a lot of privacy. Lol! So overpriced. Now i get why Koreans have to stay with their parents for a long time. Not worth it. I would buy a place in rural home and build a nice mansion overlooking some hills or stuff.
