I also love VoicePlay more than others, it's their humour, their playfulness, and the absolute smoothness of their voices and, of course, the stunning harmonies. As to getting along, they say the never argue or fight, just perhaps mildly question certain decisions. :) I love these guys so much. A really fun one that doesn't get much attention is Sill Alive.
Loved your response. There's an even older one with Rachel that's also amazing vocally.... Chandelier. She's amazing in the Disney medleys and doing that Disney Princess voice, but I LOVE these others with an "adult" voice. It's 2014, and the video isn't as complex as the ones they're doing now, but it totally works. And they look so YOUNG.
The four members of VoicePlay in this video had known each other since high school, and Earl, Layne, and Geoff had been singing together since junior high. Also, Rachel had been collabing with them for quite a while at this point. But it seems VoicePlay always meshes featured artists really well into the group.
Amazing! I really enjoy all your analysis, not only the reaction per se, but the whole professional explanation. It trully adds a new dimension to those (like me) who enjoy music but are not so musical savy. Please keep those VoicePlay reactions comming! It is my absolutely favorite a cappella group and they have tons of material you can react to!
Rachel is incredible, you should definitely react to their Phantom of the Opera. They've been friends with Rachel for a long time, and I think she's the most featured person in their videos. Other outstanding covers with her are The Little Mermaid Medley, the Moana Medley, Kidnap the Sandy Claws and O Holy Night. Also you should check out their latest cover of If I were a rich man/girl.
As VoicePlay is my favorite group period, not just acapella group I've hit that subscribe button! I love finding reactors that have so much interesting & helpful information to share. I'm looking forward to more VoicePlay reactions and I hope you'll maybe react to some of Geoff's solo videos which are also awesome!
Thanks for subscribing Jamie! I'll definitely be reacting to more VoicePlay arrangement and some of Geoff's solo work. I love VoicePlay's energy and am looking forward to hearing more of their amazing work!
I'm really enjoying watching your reactions. I like how you look at the videos from so many different angles - as a fan, as a singer/musician (and someone who has done a cappella before as well), as a film maker. Out of all the a cappella groups I have listened to I love VoicePlay the most as well. It's not just that they are such great singers, but they make a lot of their videos theatrical and so much more fun. And they give it so much energy! Their arrangements are always awesome, their music production is on point - you can always make out every persons voice in every song even when they're just doing backing vocals, costumes and set design. Their lighting (Eli does all of their lighting), the video editing (which is usually done by either Layne or Geoff, whichever one did the arrangement). They just do so much of it all themselves and they do not get enough credit for it. Anyway, enough of my fan-girling. Have a great day!
Wow! Thanks for sharing this information with me! One, thank you so much for your kind words and for supporting the channel 😀 Two, I had NO IDEA that they also spend time editing and creating their videos. I thought they hired a film production team of some sort to help them with their music videos. Just goes to show that video production is fun, but time consuming process.
@@JeffreyHackReacts Yep, they do most of the music and video production themselves. They have someone who does the last pass over the music tracks, and if they need a specialist for something they want in a video, they will get one - e.g. sometimes they get a cameraman in to shoot the videos if they're wanting something more than a fixed camera, they will get make-up artists if they want fx make-up (like their Halloween songs). Geoff's wife Kathy is their production manager and she does a great job booking the locations they shoot at, organising costumes, props and otherwise making sure they all turn up when they need to. But they plan, direct and edit every video themselves. Its these kinds of things that make me feel they are so underrated. Can't wait until you react to more by them!
Thanks for your reaction! I’d enjoy seeing your reaction to their “Phantom of the Opera”! But I didn’t quite understand if you’ve already seen/heard it or only part of it? I also recommend their newest release “If I were a rich man/girl”, it’s great!
I don’t know why reactors apologize. If I want to hear just the song I play just the song. However I love to hear other opinions and I like to be told things about music, production etc that I can learn from. Different people point out things that we may not have noticed and I like that. Eli did a great job producing this. It is amazing. I love Cesar’s parts. He is a great actor as well as singer. Anthony rocks! I wish he would become permanent in the band. However I love J None as well. Having guest singers really is cool. From years ago I love John Pinto. Great review of a great song. Thanks. ❤️
Everything you say about voiceplay is exactly what I think. 👍 If you like good arrangements, with humor and skill, then you will like "The Bass Gang". It's a project from four bass singers who have covered four Billie Eilish songs - all acapella. They are sooo good, please have a look.
I'd like to hear your opinion of VPs Sing-Off song "Road Trip". This is from about 8 years ago. Make sure you get the one with 9 Mil views. It's perfect.
Voiceplay is hands down my favourite acapella group. Each member of the group is phenomenal in their own right; combined, they are 🔥
I'm with you! I vibe with them very much too!

They're a super fun, spontaneous group of singers 😄
Second on Still Alive! So cool and catchy
I also second Still alive. The music is a bit strange but it’s really fun! VoicePlay is my absolute favourite too!

Sounds like a lot of content to catch up on!

Right?! I would say so too! Their chemistry in the video is great!

There are so many videos to react to by VoicePlay it's ridiculous 😂
Voiceplay "Halo Theme" Out Fn Standing!

The boomwhackers used at the beginning were genius!
Right?! Such a creative way to remake that sound
I'm really enjoying watching your reactions.

I'm really looking forward to your reaction to If I Were a Rich Man/Girl Feat. Ashley Diane by Voiceplay.
I'm also looking forward to watching it 😄
Thanks for your reaction! I’d enjoy seeing your reaction to their “Phantom of the Opera”! But I didn’t quite understand if you’ve already seen/heard it or only part of it? I also recommend their newest release “If I were a rich man/girl”, it’s great!
I've heard the Phantom of the Opera arrangement because my a cappella group in college did something very similar. I'll be reacting to both 😄
Jeffrey Hack Music Oh, I see, the arrangement but not the performance. I’m looking forward to your reactions to them!
Jeffrey Hack Music It’s nice that you have so much insight!
I had never seen that video. Glad that you enjoyed it. Pentatonix also covered '"Attention" years ago.
That they did! That is also another great a cappella arrangement.
A couple more for your considereation: Just Sing (have captions on, people VP has sung with), Tennessee Whiskey, Friends on the Other Side.

Glad to hear we think alike! I've definitely have to check out "The Bass Gang". Sounds like a fun song!
I loved the drive of this one.
Right?? They have a way of pulling you in!
Rachel is fantastic. She’s an unofficial group member I think...who’s no doubt very busy with her new baby!
Oh she has a baby? I'm sure she'll raise them to be a great singer!
I'd like to hear your opinion of VPs Sing-Off song "Road Trip". This is from about 8 years ago. Make sure you get the one with 9 Mil views. It's perfect.
I'll have to look into it! Thanks for the suggestion.
Please react to there cover of "My shot" from Hamilton
I'll have to check it out :)
Rachel.....should join the group
That's what I'm saying!
