I can't even express how much these lyrics mean to me, my parents divorced when I was 2 and my dad disappeared by the time I was 4, while seeing him on and off, but he completely left when I was 8. It was hard to even think I might never see him again. when a parent says that they'll be there forever, and then they aren't it isn't easy to recover. The lyrics "I don't even miss you anymore" and "Ive been doing fine without you in my life" is exactly how I feel, because after so many years of wondering why he left, I recognised how much it consumed my life, and I realised he wasn't worth all of my sadness and he's clearly off somewhere in the world living his life and has no idea how much pain it caused my brother and I. Though I thought I'd share how much these lyrics meant to me, and how its so nice to listen to a song that expresses my feelings that I can jam out too :)
I just want you to know that this is the first song that has made me cry. My parents got divorced when I was 10 and since then I have spent time living with both parents. My dads mental state has been declining and it just really hurts to see him turn from a wonderful man to an almost childlike adult.

I rarely see my family. I am in a wheelchair. And, my whole life everyone thought I was mentally disabled too. I didn't talk with my family about my feelings or emotions. I never learnt how.
Fast forward to 4 years ago, I realized I needed to learn to talk, go outside, be me and stop living the life others want me to live.
I thought my parents and brother would be happy to see the growth. Sadly, they aren't able to see me for who I am now. My dad I haven't spoken to in two years, mom rarely, and my brother broke contact to.
I have friends now which feel like family and this song really showed my I am not the only one.

Parents that leave when you need them the most, and then come back when you dont need them anymore to reap your only parents hard work deserve to hear this. My dad cheated 7 times in my mother and thought it was because he was "young". Now that im 17 and working he thinks he was a great father for trying to talk to me, I'll be sending him this song someday.

Now here I am 17 and she left too. I know I'll be okay one day but it took 9 years to be better than falling apart. How long this time? Will I ever trust again? Here it is 1 in the morning and I'm sitting here contemplating what to do

I cannot completely relate to this song, but i had a similar situation, my parents divorce when i was 1 and half, i didn't knew any about this at that time, but now it hurts so much seeing your friends's parents be together, it hurts to see a proper family. The line 'I don't even miss you anymore, coz i have been doing fine', no i miss you mom, and i have not been doing fine, not even a single day, don't have anyone to speak up, here with my dad everyday is like hell, i keep having bad thoughts everyday, but sometimes i'm happy, but then i realise that it's just temporary happiness, it'll pass quickly so i should be ready for that loneliness again, and then i heard this song, it might sound like just another song, but the one who know the pain behind his every word, know the true meaning of the song

I love this song so much. I relate to some of these lyrics because when I was a baby I was put up for adoption and I grew up knowing that my parents didn't really want me. Your lyrics "I don't even miss you anymore" is exactly how I feel now even though some part of me will always miss them and wonder what type of people they were. Even though the family that adopted me isn't perfect as no families are I still love them so much and will forever be grateful to them! I am so proud of you for producing these songs and inspiring so many people!

I’m 18 and my parents told me they were getting divorced a awhile back, not mutually and sometimes it feels like I can’t breathe. I started sobbing the first time I heard this song.
I am 16 and my dad told me they wanted to divorce, at the same time my mom told me she wanted to be at peace when I was 12, I couldn't cooperate with it I cried my eyes out, I couldn't breathe. Now at the present they had a big fight 2 months ago they have never spoken with each other i suggested once or twice they should split because the silence is killing me and the fact they can't even call each other but say bad things about each other behind their back just make me sick.

This song is awesome. It really speaks to me. My parents kept fighting, then they split (they are technically not divorced yet lol). My mom disappeared about 3 years ago. She did come back after a year tho. Not with my dad lol. Things haven't been the same since. I can live without her now. I don't miss her either.

Have always just felt so lost in everything I do, never had my dad around, a mother that resented me because my dad. So hard to navigate life when you haven't had that parent love/guidance.
