    Mark Wahlberg (from Massachusetts) was in The Lovely Bones, set in the Philadelphia suburbs. Bradley Cooper (from Philadelphia) starred in Silver Linings Playbook, set in the Philadelphia suburbs. The Philadelphia Eagles are important to the story. It has scenes inside and outside The Linc. 😃

    You made it to my home state of PA. I grew up just west of Philadelphia in Havertown and lived in Norristown and Lafayette Hill 'til I was 47 when I moved to Texas. I worked in center city Philadelphia for 21 years -- commuting on the train. My sister still lives in PA and we switched her from a Plan G to a Plan N in 2023 -- saving her $60/mo. In PA, getting Plan N is a no brainer. I don't really know any Mark Wahlberg movies off hand but I do remember him from the "Funky Bunch" days.

      @@Theretirementnerds There's a lot of history in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. The road I lived on in Lafayette Hill was the road that Washington used to retreat from Philadelphia up to Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War. Also, the town was later named after the Marquis de Lafayette.

    Hmmm, I’m not much of a movie goer or watcher… in fact the only movie I can think of watch with anyone in Philadelphia was Rocky with him running up those steps. If you get a chance, take your kids to see Ben Franklin’s home & printing shop. If you have extra time there are fun kids activities at the Franklin Institute, one of a few groups that was created with money from Franklin’s will to benefit the curiosity of young people to study sciences or apprenticeships.

    Ahh, Pennsylvania. I am a bit familiar with the Philly area, commuting to King of Prussia/Norristown/Valley Forge for a number of years. A bit about the city, not a whole lot. It's really a beautiful state north and west of the city, Lancaster area (Amish nearby), lots of natural beauty...It may be a bit unfair, but the traffic and condition of the roads weren't great along my commute, I-476 (aka "The Blue Route") was only allocated 2 lanes in each direction in Delaware County and 3 lanes in each in Montgomery County...So, every evening commute back south there was a jam up at the county borders from 3 to 2, Ugh. Heaven forbid if there was an accident...I liked the movie "Lone Survivor" with Marky Mark. That was from 2013, don't know that I've seen more recent ones of his. He's a Producer now too!

    Born and raised in Philly (I'll be 65 in 3 months) -- now living in NJ. Guessing you're be in NJ next? Anyway, glad to see the stadiums close up as I've never been to LFF (Lincoln Fin. Field). While in Philly, I do hope you and your family went to Pat's or Geno's for a REAL cheesesteak!!!! Finally (as I comment as I watch the video), I have to admit that I've never seen "Invincible", or really any Mark Wahlberg movie, but I did used to love seeing his Marky Mark videos and Calvin Klein ads!

    The Perfect Storm: now the question... I live in Northeastern PA (Pike County) and am turning 65 in early Q2 2025. My PCP is local, but affiliated with a hospital in New Jersey (there are no hospitals in Pike County PA). I know PA is a MOM state, but are NJ and/or NY also MOM states? If my doc in PA advises me to go to the hospital he's affiliated with in NJ, what applies? Thank you

    • @Theretirementnerds
      @Theretirementnerds  Месяц назад +1

      New York is... sort of. Caps it at 5% instead of 15%.
      New Jersey is not.
      MOM rules only apply where you get care, so if you go to New Jersey (not a MOM state) that means you are getting care in a non-MOM state, which means you would be subject to excess charges if they apply.
