Thanks for all the support! There's a few issues with the video though that I'll address here: 1. Glacial Lance got nerfed to 120 from 130 in Scarlet and Violet, but I probably wouldn't change its placement. 2. Graphic is wrong for Triple Arrows, should be 90 BP. 3. Graphic is wrong for Precipice Blades, should be 85% Accuracy. 4. Matcha Gotcha has the description for Flower Trick, whatever I say aloud in the video is correct
Another important thing to note about move typings, especially Water, is that they can be boosted in weather. Water moves and Fire moves can both get a weather boost on top of being solid attacking types to begin with. This makes moves like Surging Strikes, Jet Punch, Water Spout, Eruption, Flare Blitz, Wave Crash and especially Fishious Rend… that much scarier to deal with.
I'm not sure if anyone else has pointed this out yet, but the burn mechanic got changed in Gen 8. It doesn't half attack anymore. It halves the base power of a physical move. So earthquake would go from 100 down to 50 while being burned. Other than that, this was a really good video!
This is notable bcuz it means that body press, which calculates damage using the target’s defense stat, is also affected by burn due to being a physical move.
@@thebestworst8002 It also affected huge power and or pure power before a patch for the first year and a half of gen 8 causing IV and EV stats to no longer be doubled
11:36 speaking of which, as a singles player and ubers player I have never seen anyone use calyrex ice rider in ubers and trick room even less in gen 8(or any singles meta overall) but terastalization mainly fire allowed calyrex ice rider to take advantage of its massive attack stat, strong physical signature move, access to swords dance, and moxie like signature ability to be a surprisingly good trick room sweeper in gen 9 singles ubers. Kinda helps that calyrex shadow rider who was better in every way for not relying on the bulk of a mon with several weaknesses(or just in general) to set up and rather just blew things up at the moment with its devastating speed stat is now banned as similar to how tera made its counterpart a solid pokemon, tera made this thing nearly unbeatable. Due to tera this mon can actually stand as a trick room sweeper and the only one on the team.
33:22 basculin white stripe(the one that evoles into basculegion) can also learn this. They are also the naturally fastest users of the move as well. Now I bet someone will do a choice scarf tera ghost adaptability set in ubers or something.
I died to this exact set many times in national dex ubers and unless you have a REALLY fast mon or a non normal type priority move (or a normal type) ur just gonna die and there is nothing you can do
I would've added freeze dry, the base power and distribution is what's hindering it, but hitting water for super effective is HUGE. Creating new ×4 weakness and like ground and fighting hits 5 types for supper effective
wow, really informative and straight to the point on all of them! editing is super clean too :) also, might seem like a small thing to some, but i appreciate that you actually added in proper captions too
I just noticed that ever since Gen7, pikaclones get a good signature move & are overall stronger than the past pikaclones. Perhaps seeing the success of Pachirisu in Gen6, they wanted more pikachu-alikes to be good & win competitions.
Just a kind comment a bout Precipice Blades being listed as 100% in the tooltip, great video both for info and entertainment so just wanted to point this out in case starters to the series get confused not knowing the move itself or not listening too the voiceover! Maybe it helps pointing this out kindly. Loving the content!
I apologize if this move was actually in the video, but I didn't see any mention of Silk Trap, the signature move of Spidops. It's a protecting move that, when the opponent makes contact with the user, reduces the speed of the Pokemon who made contact by 1 stage.
28:28 a substitute does not have the user's defensive stats. All calculations use the current owner's (of the substitute) stats. This is relevant because any Pokemon using Shed Tail is *not* passing on their stats, only 1/4th of their hp in the form of the substitute's hp.
Good question; Boomburst hits the ally Pokemon as well as the opponents'. That aspect mattered a lot to me, which is why none of the moves that hit all Pokemon on the field broke the bottom 10. You'd either need to have a ghost type or your partner protect and waste its turn to use Boomburst safely
According to Bulbapedia (in the double battle page) moves that target all adjacent Pokemon (like earthquake) do NOT have their damage reduced. It's only moves that target both *opponents* and have 2 targets at the time of the attack. I don't see anything to suggest that's different in Gen 9.
This was a fun video to watch. I can see a lot of your points on where you placed the moves. That being said, I'm curious on something. Walking Wake's signature move Hydro Steam. I'm just curious where you would put it, given that it is the only water type move to not lose power in sunlight, and instead gets a boost?
i dont have the time for watching this video so i would love if someone says where earthquake is mentioned as it is imo the best move due to it being a ground type move and nearly every physical attacker getting it
so if you give an average 90 stats across the board pokmeon Glacial Lance Bolt Beak Fishious Rend Double Iron Bash The Pokémon will be broken? Also shoutouts to toxic not being here
Good list but any move that doesn’t care about distribution has problems It’s HIGHLY unlikely a move like fishious rend will be on anything outside of the fossils
I disagree with your ranking of population bomb. Because of loaded dice + technician, pop bomb effectively becomes a 300 bp move. Its only weakness then is rocky helmet or rough skin, which deal damage on contact. In that case, however, you could use skill link, which has the same effect as loaded dice and run protective pads, which protect the user from contact.
Can we just rage about how they DARED to REMOVE Hoopa in its Hyperspace Fury animation?!? Literally, the best attack animation, this one was so badass. Spoiler: There is no debate for Baton Pass being the best move in singles. Its the ONLY move getting banned before gen9. Every time this shit doesnt get restricted, Stat Pass Chains completely rip the game apart. And ONLY Gen2 and Gen3 bothered to balance the skill shortcomings out. For everyone interested, this move took a decade in gen3 to be considered balanced and sent titans like Mr.Mime to UBERS, just because it had some traits that made it hilarious for Baton Chains. It's so easy to just set up a +6 pokemon in every stat with immunity to phazing and wiping the floor and evolves the game into a coinflip depending on how the lead is going to defeat the speed grabber or not. It's the most broken Strategy.
Great list though I’m sad that freeze dry never showed its face flipping waters resistance to a weakness meaning ice is super effective on five types resisted by three and immune to what I’m aware of zero types making it decently hard to switch on while also bringing in that ice hits hard types to hit like dragon ground and due to freeze dry water
Great video but I think Trick Room/Tailwind and Protect variants are way too low. There's a reason every team in VGC runs at least one of the two and almost every Pokémon has protect. Also Rock Slide is obviously mostly amazing due to distribution but definetly should be on here.
Hot take but not ranking a move based on a terra boost kinda makes sense in a video like this. I'm no poketuber but if I were the only time I would take terra boosts or stab into account would be as a tie breaker, if more ground types got earthquakes then not, for example, and even then if use stab first
Tbh it’s not haha it’s worse because there’s a drawback of not being able to use it twice in a row. It’s only better when Ursaluna uses it because of Ursanluna’s ability to hit ghost types with it. But as a move itself, Boomburst is definitely better!
I dunno objectively should have been sketch. Ya, not useful IN battle, but the move that replaces sketch (spore, fishous rend, double iron bash, fake out) is only there cuz of sketch.
Thanks for all the support! There's a few issues with the video though that I'll address here:

in the botl beak graphic text its calles fishious rend aswell
We all wish Precipice Blades was 100% accurate… I’ve missed too many of them in important situations…
what the hell is this
You also forgot that Core Enforcer suppresses the target’s ability until it switches out if the user moves after the target
YAHVULTAL!!!!!!!!
Thanks for using my move clips, this kind of thing is what I meant for them to be used for!
thank you for your efforts in archival!

Whoops forgot to account for that edge case; I thought stating "halved attack" would make it easier to understand
With the exception of a few edge cases like body press and foul play, it’s functionally the same
thank god. I thought I was a schizo
@@thebestworst8002 It also affected huge power and or pure power before a patch for the first year and a half of gen 8 causing IV and EV stats to no longer be doubled

Sick, well explained, high effort video. Good job.
Great vid! Stealth rock for sure makes my list though
Earthquake does have an additional effect being that it can hit targets using dig for double damage
Geomancy should NOT be that low , it is really overpowered in both vgc and singles
Because is a chaging move
hes back when we needed him most...
I just noticed that ever since Gen7, pikaclones get a good signature move & are overall stronger than the past pikaclones. Perhaps seeing the success of Pachirisu in Gen6, they wanted more pikachu-alikes to be good & win competitions.
This video has made my day. Volt tackle is my favourite move in all off pokémon and I am so happy that it got 65th out of 101. Thank you Flying Falcon
Happy to hear it!
Nice video 💪
Looks like a lot of effort went in and I also like that you credit others 👌😁
Cool video!
i dont know most moves since ive stopped playing after gen 5. kinda crazy how moves have changed and i get why, still pokemon switched up A LOT
Just a kind comment a bout Precipice Blades being listed as 100% in the tooltip, great video both for info and entertainment so just wanted to point this out in case starters to the series get confused not knowing the move itself or not listening too the voiceover! Thanks! I messed up the triple arrows graphic as well, I’ll leave a pinned comment soon covering mistakes
Love the inclusion of "the Agency is up 5-1"
I was very surprised The let’s go starter moves any where on this list
Lumina Crash should be here somewhere. Great video!
should def be in honorable mentions at the very least
Thank you Mr Fish
I'm glad that Mega Rayquaza gets access to V-create, he needs it.
Yeah he was really struggling to be viable without it.
I apologize if this move was actually in the video, but I didn't see any mention of Silk Trap, the signature move of Spidops.
It's a protecting move that, when the opponent makes contact with the user, reduces the speed of the Pokemon who made contact by 1 stage.
I just noticed that you put Fishious rend’s description for Bolt Beak
Fishious rend is so dominant that it’s in the description of bolt beak😂
27:41 error on accuracy, banger video though!
Predicting Scald to be number 1

I just have a question, if boomburst and blood moon have the same base power yet boom burst can be used repeatedly? Why is it so much higher
2:29 i laughed bc im older and the last game i played was gold
I think you forgot about king's shield. Also, I would've included Belly Drum
This video is so well made. Number 15
20:19 why does the text say “Flower Trick..” for the Matcha Gotcha move description?
24:32 ah, I see that the text was copied directly from Flower Trick’s move description.
Ty for letting me know, added to the pinned comment list of mistakes
7:47 why do you think shaymin gets sweet scent?
6:47 that's not how Badly Poisoned works. The damage doubles each time, it does not increase by 1/16th
It goes 6, 12, 18, 24 nowadays
10:57 “…special attack *boosts* are much harder to remove”. Not drops.
This list is great, but only works in a vacuum
According to Bulbapedia (in the double battle page) moves that target all adjacent Pokemon (like earthquake) do NOT have their damage reduced.

It’s early in the video, at 98th; I wasn’t accounting for distribution in these rankings which is why it’s so low
Dont synthesis and morning sun also heal 2/3rds hp in sun?
22:35 it is literally a godzilla reference though
I’d love to see you do this with singles
love the vid but where’s freeze dry😭😭
Just missed out on honorable mentions; I felt that 70 BP was too low even with its type matchup spread
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CHANNEL
yo thats so sick to see myself in one of these videos LOL
Grats on the finish!
Why is diamond storm above the strictly better sacred fire?
Ash’s has pokemon that know to two best moves in pokemon. (Dracovish and melmetal)
48:29 wow the text was just copied from Fishious Rend to Bolt Beak here too.
Before I finish it I’ll say that Protect, it’s variations, and Follow me/ Rage Powder will be way in the top
i would have put a few different moves in but the rly important for me was that you didnt include kings shield
Burger king foot lettuce will never not be funny
did i hear megalovania in the background music at 40:15

Glacial Lance
Bolt Beak
Fishious Rend
Double Iron Bash

4 - Lands Wrath(90/100 dual target with no other effects), Core Enforcer, Thousand Waves, and Thousand Arrows

very very wacky and not very insightful placements (do u even play the game much lol) but i respect the effort and it’s a cool video
