Thanks Zax! Yeah, maybe I am a bit hard on myself about groove. But then again, we are our own worst critic at times, lol! Really appreciate your feedback so much!
Jorge, how are you? Man I thought the melodic surprises were over, but in the end you surprised me mishap, kicks, plates ... your limbs in full swing, I was thrilled dude ... Congratulations, as always ... phenomenal
Thank you Sandro and glad to read from you. I am doing well and yeah, I like to try different stuff/genres and this song has always been a personal favourite of mine, so I finally felt brave to cover it, lol.
Haha, yes. Good point Jay! What's interesting is that I did this song on the 8th death anniversary of MJ without knowing that. So it was only incidental that it coincided with that! Maybe the King Of Pop was channeling me or something, lol! Thanks as always Jay for your support!
Really good! I love the sound of your snare! Off the Wall is so much better than Thriller! hahaha...I love Thriller too, but something about Off the Wall sounds so much more genuine and real. Good stuff, Jorge! :)
Agree--love OTW myself. Just some greta pop songs on that album! And thank you for your kind comment. That actually is a 13" piccolo snare. I got lucky on the tuning, haha!
Thank you so much Jarod! Interesting to note that I did this cover on the 8th death anniversary of MJ without realizing that! So it was only by coincidence that I would do this cover of one on that day. Such a great song!
Haha, yes! Great eye Vit. And it has a great tone to it too. I might be keeping this one for awhile and retiring the Black Beauty briefly, lol. Thank you!
was it a recording trick in the original to make the snare sound more meaty? most live Jackson drums (and disco drums) dont sound like the recording and im talking pre electronic drums era. There was a distinctive dance drum sound in the late 70's to early 80s that had that phatty (?) sound. We dont get that sound anymore.
The removal of Posters allows more focus on the dexterity of working the Drums. And the beauty of the drums themselves. Posters in a situation like this are a powerful statement. The Beatles with Ringo Star and Phil Collins I recall without cheating looking back at your videos. Very Powerful statements by someone like yourself shooting for perfection. Gotta love it!
I'm playing this at an up coming gig and was a bit confused about what beat it starts on. Thanks for showing me how to count it in! Sounds great!
love it love it love it. keep it going Jorge!
Thank you Mondospark for that comment and encouragement. And I will keep it going, lol!
wow great drumming my friend thumps up! happy weekend.
Always so appreciative of your supportive comments, Zen. Thank you so much!
I personally think you have more groove than you give yourself credit for!! This sounds great and excellent drumming!!
Thanks Zax! Yeah, maybe I am a bit hard on myself about groove. But then again, we are our own worst critic at times, lol! Really appreciate your feedback so much!
Awesome job Jorge!!!...this groove is very cool!!!
Thank you my friend! Glad the groove came out all right. But it helps that it was a great song, lol.
Amazing!! Solid groove and nice hi hat work :)
Appreciate that very much coming from you, my brother! Means a lot!
NICE!
Taking a song and adding a bit of Jorge on it.
Liking the hi hat work also.
Haha, thanks so much Uzi. Just trying to expand my playing while adding a bit of my own touch to it. Appreciate you checking this out!

Friggin sweet! From back when Michael was still black! Awesome work, my friend! I agree, this was a damn good album.

Nice Bro...i thought that was all synthetic music.....you jammed on it!
Haha, thanks so much bajarafa. Just trying to add my own touch to this classic pop song, lol! Thank you for your comment!

Once again, great song choice. I think that was JR Robinson, but not sure, I've seen him demo this part
Thanks so much and yes, it was JR Robinson that drummed to this track. He's got such a great groove to him. I was hoping I'd come close to it!
Great cover! Sounds very nice:D
Thank you so much Lucas! I am very appreciative of your comment!
Very nice Jorge !!!
Thank you so much Paul! I really appreciate that very much.
Great song choice and great job covering it! I see you brought back the piccolo snare--nice!

I'm sure it was part that and some studio tweaking of the sound. But don't quote me on that, haha.
Sweet! That was an awesome groove man! Like the 'Neil Peartisms' on the 2nd hi hat and ride at the end! :D
Thank you so much Matt and yea, I always seem to rip off that lick from Neil, haha.
Nice work!
Thank you very much Nathan! T'was a fun one to cover.
What’s the main crash cymbal please ? Dope sound
Thanks for checking this out. It's a Zildjian 16" Medium Crash.
Very Nice!
Fresh Paint?
Thank you! Actually, no. Just took off the posters and such and made the walls bare. Maybe that's why it looks more brighter, haha!

When is your next video? :D Keep it up!
Thank you MisterBassBoost. I should upload one by the end of this week (likely by Friday).
