In the space-colony simulation game Oxygen Not Included you’ll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Just make sure you don't forget to breathe.
Build Extensive Bases and Discover What it Takes to Survive:
Everything in your space colony is under your control, from excavation and resource allocation right down to plumbing and power systems. Resources will begin depleting with your first breath, however, so be sure to dig fast if you want to live.
It’s Mind Over Matter with Stress Simulations:
Keep the psychological impact of survival at bay with fun leisure activities, great accommodations and even better food for your colony. Duplicants each have different and potentially destructive ways of reacting to stress, so be sure to always keep them happy. Whatever the cost.
Avoid Boiling with Thermodynamics:
Temperature control is a constant concern in space; too cold and you'll freeze, too hot and you'll fry. Keep tabs on ambient environmental temperatures and your colony's heat production to maintain a nice, cozy atmosphere for your colonists.
Enhance Efficiency through Complex Gas and Liquid Simulations:
Create interlocking pipe systems to swiftly deliver fuel and liquid to critical areas of your base. Plan well and be rewarded as your colony transforms into an imperishable, well-oiled machine.
Take Charge with Power Grid Simulations:
Choose from a multitude of power sources including coal, hydrogen, natural gas or just plain old elbow grease. Manage power runoff, circuit overloads and meltdowns to keep your colony running smoothly.
Always Keep Yourself Breathing:
Enter the Oxygen Overlay and watch air moving through your base in real-time. Monitor carbon dioxide accumulation and oversee oxygen generation processes to mold your colony into a veritable deep-space oasis.
Waste Nothing through Extreme Recycling:
Make use of every last resource for a base that truly exemplifies efficiency. Recycle waste into precious fuel, process unbreathable gas into air, or harness the natural bodily processes of wild creatures for food. If you’re clever, you might even be able to run a base off colonist farts.
Explore Diverse, Procedurally Generated New Worlds:
Summon new worlds with a push of a button. Experience tons of untamed space rocks, then suffocate to death in them!
-------------------
Spaced Out DLC:
The Duplicants are back again, and this time they're ready to rebuild their colonies from the mysterious remains of a planet torn asunder!
In Oxygen Not Included: Spaced Out! you'll spearhead space missions to new and undiscovered Planetoids, transport resources between bases, and manage multiple worlds on the fly to build a megacolony that not only survives but hopefully, thrives.
New Multi-World Gameplay
Put your colony management skills to the test by juggling the needs of Duplicants in multiple colonies simultaneously. Switch between planets in real-time and secure rare resources on other worlds to supply your home base.
Expanded Rocketry
Customize new modular rockets to your liking, then explore the expanse of space with the newly overhauled Starmap. Huge expansions to the Research Tree provide new mid-game Rocketry options, giving your Duplicants an edge in the asteroid space-race.
New Critters
Get acquainted with some new fuzzy friends - if you're nice, they might help you out around the colony!

I was literally looking up info on glossy drecko today and i was so happy to see a recent video on what to do.
Good timing! I made a mistake with the gases. Glossy ones don't eat the balm lilies so I ended up using mealwood and CO2 instead of balm lilies and Chlorine. Just fyi;)
Oh man you're a beast!!! Still hitting that daily ONI streak. Love it!
Trying my best to keep up;)
Drecko doesn't eat meal lice but mealwood plant itself :)
This. You need to disable auto-harvesting.
And any that drops you are free to take away.
👍
I found this out with my first Drecko. It was an adult when I put it in there and it went straight to the mealwood plant and ate it. lol
I love how this was uploaded right when i woke up this morning.
😉
Super excited you started another playthrough for ONI. I've been itching to play again since the DLC was finalized but this game is too complicated for me without some guidance. Now I need to decide if I want to do a little every day along with your videos or save up a bunch to do all at once XD
Either way is fine for me, though it's always nice to get inputs that often shape the direction of the series and my decisions;)
Wow that trick with the gas sensor will come in handy! Thank you
👍
I'm happy I didn't have time for RUclips the last couple of days so I can now binge watch these episodes
Hope you have fun!
@@Nathans-Sandbox with that level of quality? you bet!
I was waiting for you to correct the five high ladders in the upper left. Very glad to see it. 🙂
👍
As i stated with the meter valves on the last episode. The gas meter valve is very nice for being able to add specific amounts of gasses to your rooms. Actually that is the purpose of the new liquid, gas, and item meter valves
Ah I'm a dummy, will play around with that next time I need to do this.
just love this series so much
Awesome!
Yes !! Another one
👍
Yep ...
I did the same mistake with the dreckos as you did here :
- it turns out glossy drecko doesn't need balm lily nor chlorine.
- just fill half of the stable with hydrogen, set some farm tile with mealwood, disable auto harvesting, and you're good to go.
I've construct, deconstruct, and reconstruct my stable for god knows how many times. Especially when I tried to apply some automation on it.
But that's the joy (or maybe chore) of playing ONI right?
BTW, I'm swimming with plastic and reed fibers with just two stables. On an asteroid without oil biome. My dupes literally wanking while wearing atmo suits. Yeah ... I forgot to set the atmo suit checkpoint to vacancy only.
Hey Nathan thanks for posting daily it's a lot of fun to watch. Though I think you got your information on glossy dreckos wrong. Normal Dreckos can eat balm lily. Glossy Dreckos only eat mealwood or bristly berry. So in the end collecting the clorine was waste sadly..well at least for the farm that is. You could use is for the deep freezer for your food later on maybe?
Ah thanks for clearing that up, I mixed those plants up from memory.
Ive only created one farm like this but i set the drop-offs to autowrangle and created two separate pens for regular dreckos and glossy dreckos--one with carbon dioxide/mealwood + hydrogen, and one with chlorine/balmlily + hydrogen. At the time i had actually run out of chlorine and of dirt, but besides that i just used atmo sensors to keep the gas levels stable. Your way seems a lot more precise, and i think i was losing a lot of gasses due to not using water locks... mechanized door locks have not been doing very well for me.
Edit--now that i think about it i actually started out with one little carbon dioxide section where it leveled out under the hydrogen for where the mealwood was, and chlorine and balmlily in a different section, but that again requires constant gas levels, so i ended up splitting it up.
Edit2- xD plus the temperature differences for mealwood and balmlily became cumbersome lol
Really enjoying the series!!!
Glad you do;)
Love your content. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 you made my day Nathan
Cheers;)
My drecko farms are two 12x4 rooms stacked with a open door between them in the middle. I make the bottom a nature reserve with 6 meal lice while top is the actual ranch with hydrogen and stations.
Nature reserve? You plant mealwood with pips ?
@@tsukerk1 pips will plant mealwood on natural tiles
I love how you appload every day, best
👍
Thanks for the videos.
My pleasure!
Using canister filler/empty is a much easier way to get the right gas mixture
👍
Yeez. Wir müßen very exakt gases having! Yeeez... excellent.
😉
Great video!
😉
thank you
:)
Really fun with your video ^^ Follow your channel quite a long time. I like this version of your base **
You can say you are OCD/ I would say you are perfectionist ^^
👍😂
I don't know why but Glossy Drecko Ranch sounds like it could be a super mario level or something XD Not sure what the star/moon challenges would be but it could be interesting looking XD
still following this guy and catching up on his videos. ma guy!
Cheers;)
I was in the middle of a video and saw the notification
👍
19:10 That's not always going to work if the pipe gets clogged. I usually build the shutoffs/loops within a small loop and fill the gaps in that loop with a bridge, so the fluids never stop circulating within the loop.
That's why I added that the environment needs to be able to take it (aka the pipe doesm't get clogged. I might even jave mentioned some time that it is not my preferred method if I want it to be fail proof. So I agree with you, I will also try that loop you mentioned, sounds lile a good tip to make this better! For this instance it wasn't impotant whether or not it is fail proof though;)
I hope you channel will grow very fast!
🙏
Not sure what you need the chlorine for, glossy dreckos can't eat balm lily lol. But otherwise awesome vid! Look forward to it each day.
Yeah I mixed them up with bristle blossoms.
@@Nathans-Sandbox happens to the best of us!
You should be careful with growing mealwood near dreckos: dreckos are warm and can easily stifle your mealwood, you'll need some thermo-regulation solution to sustain it.
Love it
☺
FYI you can change yhe meal wood to not be farmed and they eat it with out harvesting it BTW.
👍
It's too soon to make a thermo-engine with the minor volcanoes?
I mean, that's a great energy improvement.
We will hook that up soon enough, though I might get started with the volcanos at the bottom.
klik the mealwood plants and set them to not farm. :)
Where did you get all the algae?? 150+ cycles and still 65t with two oxygen diffusers?? Also the easy deconstruction mod is way OP too.
I use Chained Deconstruction because the AI isn't capable of dissassembling ladders intelligently. The algea is from excavating the planetoid.
I think if you set the maximum and minimum threshold of gas storage to your desired amount, it will store exactly how much you need? you don’t build output gas pipes for that storage straight away, then you will have 40 kg of chlorine in that tank?
Yeah, but it was set to percentage and not kgs.
you should try to race your drekko for plastic, lol
The gasses will compress. It will not fill like you think it's going to.
You can manage to get 2kg of a gas with the normal vent if you wait for the brief moments it isn't overpressured.
I'm curious, why build such a big ranch for the first Drecko? 8 tiles big, with one mealwood is more than sufficient to populate other ranch rooms (if all eggs get removed as soon as they're on the floor). The other ranch rooms would be better to just keep in 100% hydrogen, giving two or three, atleast, shearing jobs each drecko before they evolve to their final form: meat. Together with this, I prefer keeping one hydrogen room with a shearing station and an unpowered incubator with continuous drecko eggs, and one other room with glossy eggs, in order to always have a designated room to repopulate the 8 tile ranch.
Personally, I find this quite easy to build early on, compared to a big 96 tile ranch straight away.
I like that idea! Also the final form thing;)
Don't forget to apply wallpaper in the different rooms
👍
Why balm lillies over meal wood?
More of a pain for sure. But the lillies don't use anything to grow. Where mealwood would take dirt. I always use Mealwood. I end up building on my ladders and tubes from Glossys. I end up with 100s of tons of the stuff left over after I'm done. He's a fun watch but will over engineer a lot of things. Or make it harder than it actually is. But like I said a fun watch anyway.
I try to do things differently. If it was for Larry I'd be doing things the "simple" and same way every single season😂
By the way, I was waiting to see what you did late game but I'm too impatient! I see you are basically strip mining! In my games I get very stressed about keeping as many natural tiles as possible in order to enable me to build nature reserves. Do you just not bother with nature reserves at all?
I do feature nature reserves mostly in the base itself, so when the dupes leave they get the buff.
Hey Nathan! What is your native language? I love the vibe your accent gives the channel. Boots boots boots boots must be a regional saying. Love the international flare your channel gives
Hehe, it is Swiss;) It's what we say to lure a cat to us.
not sure what ur doing with the dreckos... cause if u want plastic u need hydrogen gas for their scales to grow and they only eat off live plants that grow in non-hydrogen environments (mealwood OR bristle blossoms). If u want reed fiber then need atmosphere of hydrogen and either a setup up of balm lilies in chlorine at the bottom, pincha peppernuts in hydrogen (which u can also harvest), or mealwood which would net u the odd glossy drecko egg. When I play i just make plastic via dupes cause ranching it is a pain-- and i want the phosphorite for fertilizer and pepper nuts to make pepper bread. I also automate ranches to take eggs to evolution chambers to make bbq and then later giant sleet wheat farm to make frost buns --> frost burgers. My dupes are spoiled. also they don't eat the food produced from plants. they eat the plants. they graze. You need to set the plant to not be harvested and any harvests u get to keep, but if done right they eat all the plants leaving no spoils.
👍
Ummm, did you forget that glossy dreckos don't eat balm lilies?
Yep;)
Whats that green snake lookin critter
What the reason you reject all on printing pod when there are something that you can grab? Btw nice series. Just following this series few days ago.
That’s his challenge for the series. No picking freebies from pod unless it’s absolutely the only way to get it
😉
What does "boooots boooots" mean? I love hearing it but no idea where that phrase is from
It's something we do to lure cats, don't know why;)
@@Nathans-Sandbox 😆👌
couldn't you have just used one full reservoir and built in five tiles so you only needed 150kg Hydrogen?
Yeah, measuring that hydrogen was kinda silly anyways;)
hallo everyone
Hello
is this kind of ocd obsession fun for others? I find it irritating
What exactly?
