- In today's video we have a continuation from last video. We start out working with irrigation pipe but then later head out to the Briggs Blues Festival which is only about a mile from our farm to sell roasted sweet corn. We had a blast meeting lots of new people and listening to great music. The big headliner on July 9th was Kenny Wayne Shepard and after he was done and the night was about over we had a special guest at our stand... THE VEGGIE BOYS and GIRLS showed up to show their support!
That corn was delicious
I’m glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for stopping by 😃
My favorite two farm boys in one video? This is incredible
I agree 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
OMG yes 🙌 🇨🇦
The Veggie Boys cameo was awesome! That corn looked great too!
Amazing!! My two favorite youtuber in one frame!!!
This was the first Broyans video the RUclips algorithm suggested to me last summer... Been watching Andrew and the veggie boys for a couple years. Now I have 2 must watch vegetable farmers.. I hope you both keep up the great content!
Thank you for watching it is much appreciated!! 😃
Yes how true. Two of the best hard working young men. We need more like you everywhere.
Liked "honest work' the salt of the earth.
Andrew popping out of nowhere... (goosebumps!) hahaha! that was awesome! 2 of my favorite person in one camera frame. such a treat!
Enjoy watching you and also enjoy the Veggie Boys!!…both great channels! You all should make more appearances together. So fun!!
We sure are going to try too eventually! Thanks for watching!!
good job, good to see young farmers that are not scared of working. you will prosper.
I've been watching you before you had 5000 subscribers and the veggie boys before they had 8000 subscribers and both of you always have a good show
Started watching him when he was less than a thousand subs and Veggie Boys at less than 5k
Looks like fun times, delicious corn, and the veggie boys!
Andrew Ochs is the Rock Star ⭐️ of the Veggie Boys. His consistently strong 💪 effort and outgoing personality makes his Channel a Success. 👍
He sure is!! He’s a great friend! Thanks for watching 😃
@@BroyansFarm....you referred to him as Andy....reckon we could get by with that???
Excellent! Love watching both your channels
I didn’t know you two knew each other. These are the only two channels I watch about farming and I love both of them. Hello from Nova Scotia! Gee that corn looks so good! I’d buy some if I was there.
Wow!! both my two RUclips stars at the same video!! Being from Iowa, I can see what both farms are best at growing, Rocks!!! I'm sorry to say that your veggies are so much better than what, I can grow in my garden. Have a nice summer!
I’m so glad your vids popped up! I enjoy every one! Thanks for posting!!!
Corn looks awesome looks like you and everybody had a great time at the music festival
Love you all support one another. Both families so hard working. Awesome video Logan
Right I was so excited to watch! I love both channels PAstrong!
Looks like it was a fun time, especially getting photobombed by Andrew lol! For the irrigation, I would suggest putting a shutoff at the bottom of each Riser. Before you turn on all the rainbirds for the first time, shut off all of the risers and pull the plug at the very end of line. Turn on your pump and flush everything through the lines until it runs clear. Then you can plug the end and turn on whatever risers you want. A few dollars for shut-offs will save a lot of headaches from plugged lines in the long run, plus you can water in zones. Good luck!
Great idea!! Thanks so much for watching 😃
U really don't need the shut off, just rinse the lines
Joshua, true, shut offs are not needed, but they will serve several benefits. The Broyans do not have enough pressure to run all of the rain birds at once, so they plug half the holes and put rainbirds in the other half and then switch later. If they put shut offs below all the rain birds risers and get enough to do every hole, then they can just turn off the ones they don't need to use. Also if they shut off all of the rain birds and run water through the line prior to using it, it will have better pressure to flush any debris in the line out. Currently bits of debris are going up the risers and clogging the rain birds. Please don't think I am trying to dispute your reply. But these guys are a hard-working family trying to run a commercial vegetable farm. Anything you can do to save a little time will help improve your bottom line in the end and this is a small investment that will pay for itself quickly. I ran a vegetable farm for over 40 years, and there never seems to be enough time to get everything done LOL
@@dugel3 Quite a few variables here. If the line is sloped down hill the water (and any debris) is less likely to move up into the risers. If the line is running uphill water may start to move up to the nozzles before reaching the end of the line. The valve idea only saves labor if you assume he has sufficient number of risers and sprinklers to fill the entire line. It makes me nervous to see him screwing the risers in and out of the pipe so many times; eventually someone will bug up the threads in the pipe coupler and then you have a bigger problem. By adding a valve or some other coupling or bushing at least you're not screwing directly into the aluminum pipe.
One thing for sure, IMO, you should ALWAYS flush the line with the end cap removed if the pipe has been stored or left uncoupled for an extended period of time. I've seen small rabbits and woodchuck enter the pipe when it's lying around on the ground. You can't be in a rush the first time you drag the pipe out.
Very cool!! The corn looks delish - haven’t had any fresh corn yet this year. Nice that you worked the festival but still got to enjoy it a little:) Hi Andrew!!! Lol you guys are all great! I always will no with you at the end 😉
I love your farm!!! Beautiful please and you guys great hard workers!!!
First time watching you ,Andrew did mention you several times but I'm sorry now I did not go and find you and your family ,I will go back and watch more ,love Andrew family bith channels ,now you to ,thanks watching from Ireland 🇮🇪🤗
It's nice to see how you worked everything out, and that you had plenty of help too! I hope you guys made out ok! Thanks for sharing that with us!
Saw Andrew and had to check out the video. Another Pennsylvania farmer I will now follow.
Oh DOUBLE WOW!!! You and VEGGIE BOYS on same film
Another great video mate good to see how you set up your watering system hard work but satisfying. I really like corn, and the way you cook it is just amazing really good. Seems all your customers at the fair loved the corn too, well done mate.
Holy rocks! Cool to see another veggie farm channel
My favorite two channels cross over soo cool
Thanks for the video. The corn looks delicious. So fresh. Try some Mexican toppings on the corn. We love it. Cilantro, green onions, chili pepper, cotija cheese.
Absolutely super Awesome watching both channel 👌 👏 excellent great job Sir another beautiful upload Merci
Amazing video! Great job and I was shocked to see Andrew appear..lol...made me smile!
Oh, You got to love it when the mice guts come out of the nozzle. P. U.
We always ran water through the pipe as we set the line. So it would flush the pipe out. An other tip. Be careful not to drop the pipe down. The shock will crack the riser pipe. Later as the rain bird tapes, the pipe will brake off. Then you will have a geyser.
I love how you guys enjoy doing what you are doing everyday 😍😍
Oh wow...that awesome.
It's glad to see farmers joining RUclips. It's a big eye opener to what happens behind the scene.
Whaaat?! Andrew?!! My faves in one frame!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💖💖💖
Good job!!!! Hi from Colombia 🤠
Its good to see you guys together...
Another great video! I'll have to come up to Pennsylvania one day
My most awaited collab. Nice one boys. More collab soon.
That was great .thank you.
The corn looks sooo good. 👍
Wow.... we saw Andrewwwww!!! coool thank you Logan for all your video...love it!! and enjoy the festival... you need you and your family a brake!! xoxox
I both watching you guys nice to see you both
Pink Floyd…the best music for the best farmers!
The people in your area are so lucky that they have farm fresh veggies to buy.
Very nice guys!
At my county fair I always get corn and when you order it they dip it butter. YUMMY 😋
you’re awfully brave wearing shorts while doing that!! 😳
Wowww roasted sweet corn I just love it ,I also wanna try a nice bite.... hope u enjoy a lot nice video God bless u!!!
Thanks for watching!!
..... ROCKSTAR .... !!
run water through the pipe with the stopper out. Use a pipe wrench not a an adjustable wrench. I so miss being young and running through the sprinklers with my wire. It was so nice when the sun rose and heated us up a bit.
I just subscribed to your channel. I have never seen such rocky soil.
Thanks for subscribing!! Hope you enjoy my channel😃
Cool video. Thanks
I love corn 🌽 perfect idea..
You wouldn’t want to be in line behind the Veggie Boys when the corn is running low.
Another great video. It was cool seeing Andrew on there. All you needed was farmer Dre to show up. Would of had some one from my three favorite channels on there. The corn looked good. Makes me want to go fire up my grill and cook some. Y'all stay cool and be safe.
Would love to try and have all 3 of us together. Eventually!!! Thanks for watching!
thanks, andrew, that's all the endorsement i need
Easiest way to clear that clog at the end of the pipe is simply turn the water on temporarily, it'll blow the clog out quickly. Then shutdown, replace the end cap and you're up and running.
💗💗💗
.. Cheers to you.
Great safety boots m8 👍🎲
❤️
I’m here for the veggie boys
Years ago I went to the Cumberland Maryland Labor Day corn roast, they boiled 10 doz of husked ears in a row of 8 wood fired butcher kettles. Adding the corn to boiling water containing a cup of King Syrup and handful of salt. Removed it with aluminum corn shovels to a row of serving tables for the Festival attendees to select their steaming ears.
1bell pepper we have pay 10'##up eggs plant we pay 20##all so tomatoes and hot pepper 🌶️🌶️🌶️ one dollar for one that is way I cazy about your pepper 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ love them south Trinidad my husband love you show
👋Hi greetings from Aruba🌴🇦🇼🖐️
You right my friend cuz me too
Broyans and Blues a great combination.
We do our corn shucked, and washed on an open charcoal or wood fired grill. I'll have to try your steamed corn method.
Came over because seen veggie boys
You should get a hot pot something you can dip the ear in butter. My cousin does it that way he found it wastes less butter that way.
Unplugging that pipe was gross but, the rest of the video was great, including the fair! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Cheers, Broyans Farms❣️
Thanks for watching!!
My dream is to become a small farmer. Nothing of this scale but 20-30 plants of each vegetable.
A bigger colab would be awesome.
So those corns came from the Veggie Boys..great team up...
Just west of you one State, we would called this steamed corn not roast. Roast corn here, we put the corn in the husk in a water trough for about 2 to 3 hours. Then shake out the water and put the corn on a grate over a charcoal or wood fire, wait for the husk to dry and become a bit brown to black after turning then it is done. The burned bits if not black become sweeter.
Fun!
I've been hoping for a collab with them! I think I saw Grandpa Ochs with his new corn combine at your place last year?
I always leave end plugs out, and rinse lines first...saves a lot of headache
Do more colabs with the Vegie boys ❤
Love veggie boys andrew 🤣😂
My irrrigation tool for mice was a bent coat hanger.
how do you deal with the black plastic mulch after a season ?Can you use it again next year . Thanks
I hear the sweet strains of a Fender Rhodes electric piano ...around 7:20 ....
I love the corn with lemon juice as well!!!!!🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Ooo I’ll have to try that! Thanks for watching!
I've seen it served from Hispanic street carts in NYC, fresh off a grill, slightly charred, slathered with mayonnaise, sprinkled with cotija cheese, and topped off with chili powder, can also add lime juice, I think they call it elote. Any or all of these toppings can be delicious, depending on how you like your corn. I think it was going for about $3 last summer.
flush the main irrigation line for a minute or 2 then cap your end? Love the videos! I was a veggie FARM HAND in MN for my Aunt and Uncle on 80 acres +
Wow good for you that’s awesome!! Thanks so much for watching!
Little confused here is that corn that you got from your farm or the corn from the auction, I know its a bit early for Farm Corn right now. Great Video will try cooking my corn that way at one of our Picinics if I can get a big enough high walled baking sheet. I can't wait for Fresh Farm Corn. Great to see your Pap sitting and enjoying the day watching all you guys' work. Looks like you had a Great Day for the Concert.
We got this from the auction, our corn isn’t ready for another week yet. Thank you for watching!!
Another good thing on corn 🌽 like that is parmesan cheese
what variety corn is that ? thanks for the videos
i didn't know you and Andrew knew each other @Broyans Farm i watch both of you guys and Joel's vids to i probably spelled his name wrong
He's mentioned before they only live about twenty five minutes from each other.
We cook Oysters the same way here in South Carolina.
Oh hi Andrew 😂❤
Andrew (from The Veggie Boys) raided your video 😂! It is cool that you guys know each other. Have you thought of having a second cooler as back up when you know when times may get busier?
You should install an ball
Valve this way you don’t have to shut down water and keep water running while you take apart sprinkler head
Foe next year, install a coupling at the end of the line unscrew flush and the install the sprinkles. 😉 😉Its painful
Have you thought about selling tomato sandwichs? Washington Boro Tomato Festival, Lancaster County 2nd and 3rd Saturday of July sell thousands ever summer. Bread, chilled tomato slices, thin sliced onion rings, mayo or butter, salt and pepper to taste. Only wish they would get meadow tea!
Great idea!! Thanks for watching
I see the veggie boys so i subscribe 😀 to your channel 👍🇵🇭
Thanks so much!! 😃
Veggie Boys! 🎉
