It is not the Supreme Court, nor the State Government that failed to give Justice to the victims of Oting or generally the people of Nagaland.
The root of evil lies in the law of AFSPA which was imported by the Government of India from an erstwhile colonial British law and that declaring Nagaland as ‘disturbed area’ for an indefinite period of over 60 years, and employing thousands of armed forces at the expense of huge monetary and material resources of the country has not helped the government in achieving its objective at all.
The only way to restore justice is for Law of AFSPA to be repealed.
