    I have watched every one of your videos. I’ve never seen you act horribly towards anyone. You’re very hard on yourself. You were doing a job. A job that was dangerous and unpredictable. I’ve seen thousands of repo videos and yours were the best of all.

      Someone threatened him to pull his license someone got at were he is money will definitely be cut down or eliminated and he won't be allowed anywhere hes doing this for self preservation and to satisfy the man behind the curtains. It's like they have glassdoor.com if you have a pretty good paying job and you're a professional leaving a review honest about a bed company it's going to haunt you and have been told I'll never work in this industry again so I've actually had to change my name. But they can't get rid of me because smart people always find a way. Just like those people who get smart cheating their debts.

    Personally, I thought some of your best repo’s were the ones you conversed with the people and they respected you, and thanked you for your efforts and allowing them to recover their property before they lost their vehicles. Respect is something we all have lost. It feels like the public in general, all want to fight over nothing. We all have a job to do, it’s not personal, it’s nothing we want to do to hurt others. But you are right on that we seem to be addicted to the drama and confrontation.
    I currently work in an industry (not repos) that I have to meet with families going through the worst day in their lives. Most are appreciative in what I am trying to do in their behalf. We work 12, 14, 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, for months at a time just to help them. They have no idea of what we go through to help them recover and move on with their lives. Mean while we are battling our own trials. For myself, my wife left me for another, I’m homeless as she took the house, up to my eyeballs in debt as she cleaned out the accounts when she left, and now trying to get full support, yet I push through just to help others!
    But what keeps me going is the people we can help. That alone keeps me going pushing as hard as I do. Through all the perceived injustices we all experience in one way or another.
    Thank you for your efforts! As a long time watcher of your channel, you yourself have experienced some gut wrenching trials I would not want to face. I have cried many time with the losses you experienced. I thank you for sharing, for sharing your life with us as well and allowing us to have a glimpse of how to get through today, and rebuild for tomorrow!

    Matt: You've always been pretty up-front about yourself in your videos. I hope you're doing well, given ALL you've been through. There are too many people that don't want to admit mistakes because of pride and/or shame, and that's a bad thing in my book. We need to be able to acknowledge that we make mistakes, and try to better ourselves. We all make mistakes, but not enough of us are confident enough of ourselves to admit it and try again. Good on you, brother.

    I think the reasons I watched your videos from the start was not the action or whatever (though I admit it made it more exciting). It was seeing how an industry I knew nothing about (it doesn't exist here) works. And I enjoyed seeing how polite, understanding and just an overwhelmingly positive person you are towards these people and their situations. Frankly, it was refreshing, given the shit-show of people out there in all industries who only care about the paycheck and not the job itself. As a fellow person who does give a shit, it's nice to know there are some people around who care. I'll keep watching as long as it continues to interest me, but I'm grateful for your contributions so far. Cheers.

    Personally when I did repossession i found allot of your tactics worked very well and enjoyed the videos and lessons. I found private property impound was more dangerous then repossession simply by using your tactics. Worst thing i had happen was someone tried to run me over trying to get away when I went to talk to them. I seen them run out and jump in the car so I stopped and got out and went to try and talk them out and they cut through the neighbors yard to get away. I let them go and rolled by the address later that night seen it and called the boss and found out they had paid it current and I went on to the next one. But like you said in allot of videos at the other end is a family in crisis and I was there trying to take the person's work van and only vehicle from what I could tell. The lessons I've learned from your videos changed the outcome of allot of the repos and private property impound I've done. I appreciate the videos and knowledge that you've put out there for people willing to learn and not here just for the drama and bs.

I still think you did your job with integrity and respect. You gave all those people a chance to get their stuff out of their vehicles. I know alot of repomen dont. You were very good to most people and when people were assholes you still did a great job. Those very few times where you maybe let it get to you a little just shows youre human bro. Nothing wrong with that. And you would let us know thst you handled that one badly. So you were teaching us lessonsthen too. Imglad you were able to record those and post them. I learned so much from your videos. And i would be willing to bet that you inspired a few people to become a repoman. And they werent taking notes from the ones where ykj got a little angry. They watched your routine. How you got ready. How you kept your truck organized and were ready because you knew where all your tools were. And you did your job with pride. You were nothing like that one t.v. show. I cant remember what it was called. I only wat hed that show a few times. Thsy were disrespectful. And acted like idiots. And you sere juzt the opxposite. People who watched you learned how to do it the right way matt. And we got to meet and get to know your family a little. I always thought that was cool. I dont know why they would have a problem with you filming a repo. I wouldthink they wlshould have aprobdldm with dlthe guys on that tv show. Anyway. Im glad youre back matt. I think we all missed you here. Shandra is very proud of you for what youre doing and what youre going to do with your life. Have a good night bro.

    For us, the easiest way to not see the repo guy is to not to have loans on our cars. We don't have a lot of money lying around but we only have a mortgage. I think the real fix lies with people taking out more debt than they can handle. The companies loaning it are just there because people want to borrow it.

    Can somebody explain how loans and repos work in USA? Let's say I have a car that I have a 3-year loan for it, 36 payments. Is the bank the owner for 3 years and then the title is transferred to me? Or you and a bank are both car owners in certain (changing?) percentage? So I'm day late on last payment, car is almost paid off (~97%), does it mean that a bank can order a repossession and then what? Bank has the car that it owns (100% of it?), then what happens next? You need to pay the missing payment + fees to get it back? If you fail to do that (if that's the option) how much of the money does the bank return you?

    • @johnstedman4075
      @johnstedman4075 3 года назад

      It all depends on the Contract that the Parties agreed at the outset, but usually the Lender has full Title to the Collateral until the final payment is made, then the ownership is transferred to the Borrower. In that situation a Lender could theoretically repossess for default after 35 of 36 payments had been made, but it's unlikely. It is better for everyone if a deal can be done to delay payment for a short while and then complete the Title transfer amicably.

    • @mibars
      @mibars 3 года назад +1

      @@johnstedman4075 Thank you. But let's assume that bank wants to execute it's right to repossess, possibly to extract some extra money. They claim their property back and then ask you for the missing payment + extra fees including covering the cost of repossession and possibly some penalty fees (I don't know the correct terminology in english). Or if you don't pay what would happen? Car most likely lost half of it's value after 3 years, how much bank would have to pay you back?

    • @johnstedman4075
      @johnstedman4075 3 года назад

      @@mibars Hi! If a Lender does legally repossess a car at the very last minute, and does this in full accord with the written Contract, then yes they are entitled to add the 'Reponut' costs onto the account. But as I mentioned before, they would much rather do a deal in which the Borrower keeps the vehicle, the account is settled (maybe a little late), and the Title is transferred. If that doesn't happen, they can grab the car and keep it for ten days or so, in which time the Borrower can endeavour to put the account in good standing and take the Collateral back, or try to negotiate more time to pay. Failing that the Lender can sell it, usually at a traders' auction and for a price lower than the open market value. If the vehicle fetches less than the Borrower still owes, the difference becomes a debt which can be pursued by the Lender through the Courts. If the vehicle sells at auction for more than the Borrower's outstanding debt, then the Lender has to refund that balance. At any stage in all of this, the small print in the Contract will probably entitle the Lender to claim such reasonable expenses as have accrued due to the Borrower's default. If the Borrower thinks that the Lender is being unreasonable or is acting in Breach of Contract, it is time to take legal advice. If this all sounds complex, tedious and expensive, it is. It can usually be avoided if the Borrower keeps the Lender in the loop and has an open, honest and genuine attitude towards fulfilling their side of the Contract. Hope this helps you!

    • @mibars
      @mibars 3 года назад +1

      @@johnstedman4075 Yes, thanks a lot for detailed information. It appears that in US everything happens at much higher pace, in Poland bank can hire debt collector after 4th missed payment if I recall correct. Before that they can send you "reminder" letters (there is a small fee associated with each of them). Also debt collection is not that easy, there is a whole procedure to remove your right to use vehicle you have a loan on.
      It is bit scary how in USA if you are living on a stable low income with not too much savings you can suddenly lose everything and land in debts if you e.g. break a leg, have an unpaid sick leave, need to pay for medical service and in a meantime your car is gone and house auctioned off....

    • @johnstedman4075
      @johnstedman4075 3 года назад

      @@mibars Pleased to help! Yes, in the US credit is big business, and while it is regulated by law it has the flexibility of being part of the private sector. The personal relationship between the Borrower and the Lender is the key, and usually creates a win win situation. In most of the country a car is a necessity, which is why there are millions of used cars for sale every day for $2,500 or less. RUclips sites like 'Auto Auction Rebuilds' and 'Weird Beard' show how it works pretty well. Credit can even be provided to those who have had problems making payments in the past, although their interest rates will be higher and loans will be limited in size. Free legal advice is usually available to anyone who feels they are being ripped off. The 'Reponut' videos of the past did show how some Borrowers try to exploit the system, but for most people buying on credit is part of normal life, and they learn to use it correctly to improve their living standards.

    I think the repossession industry may no longer exist in the future if laws change to where the same legal process done for a foreclosure is required to repossess a vehicle (writ of possession). This may put some out of business but in the long run makes everything safer for everyone involved and should make lenders think twice before lending.

They don't care that they're making it harder on people who are responsible and pay their bills to own a car because the costs of the deadbeats are passed on to everyone else! Because of this a struggling single mom may not be able to afford a car she needs to go to work and go to the grocery store! Some people fall on hard times and should be helped! This is the sad reality of the world we live in, you used to be able to document your life and noone would care, then one day people decided they didnt like their face being on stuff their not in control of, they didnt want their business shown in a video that has stuff they dont agree with. Some times I see it being beneficial not being shown and this is a case of that. But all too often I see it being where it was innocent and someone still caused a scene when they saw their presence on the internet. Its not easy to do anything these days.

    I don’t think you were really that bad. It doesn’t help that finance companies giving loans to people that have a hard time in the first place. Back then, we would buy a junker and fix it ourselves. Nobody does that anymore. There are many options like taking a bus or a bike. It’s really sad that people have to struggle.

    Having watched most of your videos, I don't believe that you put up anything that put you in a particularly bad light -- even though some drunk/drugged out loony tunes wanted to fight you. All of them are good examples of how to go about the repo job.
    There are other repo channels where they deliberately go out of their way to antagonize the debtors and create a fight.
    As for trying to 'fix the industry', I guess that many people in the repo game first have to accept that it needs fixing.

    Look man you can't change what you can not control. What you're doing also is teaching people to pay their bills and work hard in you better find a way to maintain those bills or you're going to deal with this embarrassing aspect of life. To take the way the reality is to add censorship so you are repo ing your own channel. I am in music and I am in the industrial trades and I do things different that other people's opposed to. But there's some things that we are good at that others aren't and it works. You cannot fix the credit system. You come out fix human error to created debt. What you did is no different than cops. But look now they are gone to. I don't see these things going away forever because technology is going to get better and expose even more in the future. I am one of those humans who constantly makes mistake 1 of those human do say wow they are so smart so capable but they messed everything up every time and here I am again it's what I do it's what I'm good at doing so I continue. And people who apps in payments we can say O boo hoo they had a repoo. But there are some people that only got repose because of one time situation and then there's people who accumulate situations and they are repetitive. Granted it is a touchy subject but there is a lot of fraudsters out there and a lot of them people that are getting repo.

    Come Bro, no one is perfect. But you were almost prefect doing your job. Nice, understanding etc. I remember just one video you lost it a bit. It was called something like the debtor acted stupid and you were acting even stupider.
    Sure, not a good thing. But I am sure you took a lot of shit dong your job. So sometimes it will tip over. I am not excusing what you did. But there is sure a good explanation things can be a bit too much sometimes. We are all just humans. We live and learn from it.
    Cheers

    Isn't it fascinating how most large corporations are recording everything employees do - all your PC keystrokes, your punch in and out times, data on how long of a lunch you take, time actually using PC applications versus being idle, and increasingly even Zoom surveillance data for anyone working from home to spy on them and see if they're actually working - while at the same time these same companies are petrified of having data recording their actions.
    You've been a pioneer and been on the leading edge as corporations gone psychotically paranoid. Hang in their, brother. This madness too will end in time.

      I used to work for a major trash company - I've heard from coworkers that not long after I had left (over 11 years ago) they installed cameras in EVERY truck, with sensors. Any hard braking, or sudden steering maneuvers triggered a recording that begins 8 seconds before the movement, and 8 seconds after. Have a sandwich in your mouth, or a phone in your hand, you're FIRED right on the spot! I'd have been gone my first week had they been doing that way back when I first started. Glad I left!!
