Hey guys; I have gotten several comments about issues with the voiceover/volume mix of the video. I just want to say: I totally agree with all of you! This was made late at night in a dorm room, produced for a class project, only ever intended for my professor. If I knew it would have been watched by so many people interested in psychoacoustics, I would have definitely put more time into making sure I had the right equipment and had leveled everything correctly. So please enjoy the content, and I apologize for the lack of polish.
This video is amazing. I am a performing arts teacher and I use it for my unit of Radio Drama. Its one of my resource for high school. Just wanted to say thanks!! But work on the volume please. TC
The emotions induced by music are completely rooted in nature. Sad music sounds similar to a sad and distraught person, frightening music is similar to the sounds a predator might make when giving out a warning, stalking or attacking. Chill music is similar to the uninterrupted white noise night insects and wind might make, both of which indicate a lack of activity and therefore a good opportunity to rest.
The dark down vibe he's talking about. Give me an uplifting feeling. Interesting. I like the first and the second. Piano playing on it okay. If it had a different jazz song might have been better mood for the movie whatever scene.
this is intersting. I'm a visual artist. as soon as the music started I turned off the sound, stepped away for a few minutes and returned to play the video. I watched it. then I stepped away to clear my mind, but returned, closed my eyes and pressed the youtube default for play. I listend and held the visuals from this video in my mind. they were different. I asked myself if i knew of 2 different people, one blind, one deaf, then I asked myself how would each compare to the other based upon their emotions and what if i didn't see the video first but instead heard it instead and couldn't see it ??
The answer that you are trying to find out is challenging enough. One thing you have to keep clear; do you want to approach the problem through science or through philosophy. The start was from a philosophical point of view but later towards the end it went to the realm of neuroscience. Try it the way you like. I will be waiting for the conclusion of this research
@@averagestudent5222 Finishing it now. It will be up my daybreak. I think I’m going to call it ‘How (and why) Ghostbusters Theme was written in the key of Ghosts.” // It’s gonna be the video that will change the face of music theory as we know it. // Thanks for being here with me!
Sorry homie, recorded this with a dynamic mic in the middle of the night for a class project, had no idea it would get 14 views, let alone 1,400. Thanks for the kind words though 👍🏻
i can barely hear the sound of your speech lol had to turn it all the way up 100% on monitor speaker. And scared the crap out of myself when the music came on.

I've began researching this on my own and stumbled across your video, it's a very fascinating thing to delve into

I’ve figured it out. And it was done though observations of my own hearing and applying to Sacred Geometry.
I never thought of that

i really like some of the points you make, keep it up, but uhh go hard on a pop filter and filter out your low end. 👍
