So in a way, Batman's character is who he is today thanks to Tim Burton's films, who took the liberty of transposing him into a dark avenger, instead of an Adam West cereal-sitcom-special.
No, those kudos go to Alan Moore, Neil Adams, Danny Oneil, and Frank Miller, who writing a grittier and darker Batman years before this. Those are where Tim Burton drew from. His Batman was not original, he only made it pliable for kids.

If you listen closely to the Hans Zimmer Score there is definitely a homage to this theme. I love when there are people that, while creating new, they can have a respect for the well known and loved.

I’d argue that Danny Elfman is best with using multiple notes and music theory. Whereas Hans Zimmer makes the most of one or few notes, which is impressive too. Zimmer is strong grounded emotions, Elfman is high powerful emotions. Both equally good in their own ways.
maybe its because i was born then.. i was born in 88', and i still think the 2 Tim Burtons Batmans are the BEST. The setting, music.. everything. I think Gotham should be as Tim Burton imagined it.
I've always came to the conclusion that Elfman had to have been a huge scholar of the master of gargantuan, Richard Wagner. Elfman is dark, dramatic and very heavy on the bottom-end. He, like many of his contemporaries, understood the power of dymanic principles.
3:39 i get a tear in my eyes every time, I see the scene in my mind. viki is in the Bat Cave and they have the convo where she say "why won't you let me in, why?" and he says "you got in". That scene is so vivid in my mind, more so than the rest of my childhood
I don't know...it is a perfect score. But, the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack was pretty epic, and lots of John Williams stuff. But, Danny Elfman knocked it out of the park. A true innovator.
