I think Steve-O's sobriety and more tame lifestyle has made him much more judgmental about "immature" behaviors he used to engage in. But Steve-O was as wild or even wilder in the past, and I think Steve-O is cringing at essentially looking at a mirror of his past self.

I think Steve O sees himself his past self in Poopies. So he was a little hard on him at the half hour mark to let him know he shouldn’t get wasted and close doors to opportunities
I wasn't sure if I was just imaging that. Seems like Steve-O's sobriety has made him super judgmental about Poopies getting wasted. Yeah I know it was the past and "drugged up" Steve-O did much crazier things in public, but it's still a part of Steve-O and who he is. I also got a sense that maybe Steve-O was getting jealous about his past wild life and how Poopies may be stealing his thunder.
@@jzen1455 I will say this having a family member that is a recovering heroin attic, you do have to walk on eggshells around them any little thing can be a trigger and push them into a relapse. Baby comes self-righteous and judgmental and a lot of times cling to a religion. Like dude let people live their lives, but at the same time self-destructing yourself with drugs is not the way.
Cool Steve-O is doing his sobriety gatekeeping thing on other peoples podcasts.
Not only did Steve-O do sobriety gatekeeping on Bobby Lee's/Andrew Santino' "Bad Friends" podcast, he also engaged in clown gatekeeping. As Bobby and Andrew brainstormed clown names for themselves, Steve-O sternly said after Bobby went with Nip Nip the clown, "At clown college, we said were proud of our art and we don't insult our art by coming up with stupid names like Snuggles, we use our own names because we are proud of who we are."

@@cosmicabyss7358 Weird, I would think if he did he would've actually had a career and not been kicked out of barnum and bailey for cocaine use, and hated by literally every other clown there. I worked as a butcher for a year before being fired for sucking at it, and I don't claim to be an expert on it.

He literally knows all those clown tricks like spitting fire, sword swollow, stunts, etc.
That clown stunt background plus his skateboard hobby is why Steve is even capable of the stunts he's done.
Steve is more than capable at this stage in his life of completing clown school but back in the day he was wild and not focused enough to finish.
Doesn't really mean anything though because he still learned everything he needed to to help his career and it obviously made a massive impact on him.

@@Jay-wk9xj the part where he was giving Poops a bunch of grief for hitting his vape on the plane bugged me too. He didn’t try to relate and be like, “well I’ve done WAY worse shit than that, just don’t do it again.” It was more of a “you’re an idiot for doing that” type of thing.

This is definitely a conversation between two close friends, you can tell they must talk a lot which is probably why the episode went the way it did. That and I think Steve-O is kind of a big brother in a sense for Poops, like he's always looking out for him and trying to steer him in the right direction.
This is definitely different from the other podcasts, where he wasn't as close.
I think Steve-O is a good dude that wants the best for Poopies and wants to steer him in the right direction. *However*, Poopies’ podcast is not the place to air out these long grievances & appeals for validation/recognition for being a good bro.
