My manager is absolutely the sort to let errors build up for ages and then let it all out at once, I had no clue i was making mistakes at work until my manager pulled me into the office and basically had a go at me, told me to sit down and stood over me, threatened to fire me, nobody had even mentioned I was doing anything wrong before that point
Hahaha 4/5 people max I work as a DC Supervisor for a sports retailer in the uk and we are managing upto 20 plus people directly as well as expected to deal with new tasked added to out role on a weekly basis with nothing been taken away from the role.
I am curious about how anyone can definitively conclude that he was terminated specifically because his partner became pregnant. In my opinion, that is quite a leap to reach that conclusion. I will admit that the timing is highly suspect, but coincidences do occur. However, given that he is a male, HE is not the one who is pregnant. His partner is, so why would they fire him on that basis? Also, is having a pregnant partner supposed to be a guarantee of employment? Would such a guarantee last as long as the pregnancy? If not, then how long? So, if the decision to terminate him based on role redundancy had been made before he advised them of the pregnancy, should the business be obliged to reverse their decision? Would this situation even be noteworthy if they had advised him of his termination BEFORE he advise them of the pregnancy? I would think so, mainly because the rationale for terminating him would NOT have involved his personal situation.
It's more than that, because every 4 managers then needs a manager managing them. It's not preposterous though. The military agrees that the absolute maximum amount of direct reports you should have is 8. Squads are lead by one person and a vice. So each get's to lead 6/7 people, 12 person squads.
