great match guys! I think that missed volley on match point 15:47 is the story of the match for Jack. He only won 6/17 (35%) of net points. He sets up his points well (2:15) and seems to have a good eye for when to sneak in (6:57). If he can put away volleys and overheads better he has a winning strategy. Kudos to Rish, so much talent!
Yeah, so true. Must have just been an off day, because there's no way his volleys and overheads are that poor for someone who aggressively looks to approach at his level. Rish obviously doing well to keep the net balls low and the lobs deep. Nevertheless, I hope that second match point doesn't haunt him...
Last like 4 consecutive matches on this channel have been insane Winston! Great work with the matchups! Rish might be the most talented young player I’ve seen on here. He has the iq and patience of a much older player and also seems to maintain a calm measured demeanor under pressure. Moves well defends well and isn’t afraid to attack. Also seems to have grown a few inches since last video. Gonna be scary in college! Would love to see a full match between these two. Their matchup creates really athletic and exciting tennis. Jack was excellent too just made a small handful of errors in key moments. Probably an extra bit of pressure being the “favorite” in a matchup. Loving all the recent uploads!
Good to see Rish back on the channel! Hope to see his brother in a future video... Possibly in a match with someone like Hermont! That would be interesting!
Lol.... I feel this is getting to be a reality thruman show. We will see everything... Rishvanth first ATP point, his first sex, his first Grand Slam .... Where does this gonna end up? xDDDDD Kiddo literally aging online in Winstons yt Channel. Lol
Really fun to watch these young guns go at it! You get the sense that either of these guys could beat the other on any given day. Also fun to see Rishvanth after a fairly long absence. He's such a smart, skilled player. When he gets bigger/stronger, he's gonna be a force to be reckoned with. Lastly, I just gotta give kudos to you, Winston, for all the work you do. I was thinking about just the effort to edit these match videos -- seems like a lot of work. Thanks for your great content!
Couple of comments: 1) Winston you are killing it with the matchups, the editing and the reels. Keep it up and let’s get you to 100k subscribers !!! ❤ 2) Congrats to both kids. Jack was tired today you could see the later on in the game let’s see how he is fresh. And the matchup is hard as he needed to spend a lot of energy..and was not getting many cheap points 3) Rishvanth passing/lob game was crazy. He made it really tricky to come to the net. Also his defence was very good but he also injected pace at times that caught Jack by surprise .. 4)Winston if possible it would be good for them to share what they are thinking (tactically and emotionally) as the match goes on…probably takes longer to play/edit but usefully for us mere mortals to understand impact of things like matchup/conditions /tactics /energy level etc. Essential tennis did this and it came out really well.
That was a really good and enjoyable match to watch! Aside from Jack and Rish hitting the ball well, I really appreciated their good sportsmanship and positive behavior on the court, e.g., no thrown racquets, overt negative self-talk, becoming angry about missed shots, etc. They look like they're headed for collegiate tennis teams! Well done!
What a great match. Very close. Rish's biggest "problem" is that he's young. As he gets older and taller, he'll gain biomechanical assistance. His level will grow even if he does nothing else (which, I'm sure he'll ALSO improve). I'd been interested to see him in 3-4 years, to see what his serve looks like. Well done both!
now that I've watched these kids play... I want to see more of this. great play. Some commentary, even if added in, would make it that much more exciting a watch.
Jack is burning more energy when serving and hitting hard. He ends up hitting it mainly in the center, where Rish just lightly hits it back, but consistently. Jack's energy burn is causing him to make more errors instead of focusing on accuracy. Winston mentioned Jack was tired but yeah, it felt like Jack has more skill and power, but he sorta lost to himself with more errors.
Very good overall play from both boys. I like Jack's aggression and all-court play. Rish is a solid defensive player with a great lob and passing hots. Areas each could improve upon; Jack, defensive slice from the baseline. Would help a bunch to learn a slice forehand which I don't think he tried at all. Rish could greatly improve upon hitting mid-court and short balls with much more aggression. First serve percentage for both looked to be below 50%. I'd recommend both work on an 80% power first serve with more placement in mind, especially a flat/slice 80/20 into the body in the deuce court and a wide flat/kick on the ad side against two-hander righties, the reverse against two-hander lefties. There are a lot of free points to be had by simply getting that first serve in more often for a psychological advantage if nothing else. Thanks for playing the match guys. Fun to watch!
There are levels to tennis and these boys are hitting at a high level. What stood out most to me is their great personalities and positive attitude. This was a joy to watch and Rish and Jack, those personality traits will lead you to great success in tennis and moreso life.
Very good match. Strong, sharp, powerful, skilful players. The ups and downs....wonder if some emotional weakness due to their age.....it'll strengthen over time. They'll really grow as players.
Both are excellent players. Rish has a great forehand that is very consistent and a good backhand that doesn't produce a lot of errors. Jack made some jaw-dropping(for his overall level) unforced errors on big points.
Rish is an absolute tank!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Jack is a tank destroyer during certain points. Im in absolute awe watching their match and was so upset when it just ended. I wanted a 5 set match. Both are just so humble too. The summary from watching them : Rish is consistent and Jack is a fighter. And vice versa. Im just in awe.
Dang Rish really pulled the trigger on the crucial points. I feel that on most days, Jack would win due to his consistent and all-court nature but Rish was on fire today with his aggressive baseline hitting
Rish's forehand is so close to being insane. Right now, it almost looks better when he can't set his feet, but then occasionally on easy balls it gets all out of whack.
I think Jack had the strength advantage, but Rish really handled things defensively great! Both can really crush the ball when they want to. I think Jack may have gotten a bit down on himself losing those 2 match points and maybe lost just a bit of focus in the latter stages of the set. Overall, a great match! Not too much to choose between them...
Great playing. I think the winner should get 1st pick between the gifts and you let them know before the match. Add a little motivation. That windbreaker is sweet.
Both forehands were fantastic. Thought Jack would pressure Rish more on backhand. Some poor line calls to start, if Rish wouldn't have hit that tape so many times on his backhand he'd have an easier time. Great to watch though!
Right from the jump, its clear you will not get any easy points from Rish and he honestly deserved so many more points if he was just taller and could close at the net. If Rish was the same size, this would easily be a 6-1 set.
i started tennis like 4 months ago and i’m ab to be 14 😭 i just started 8th grade tho and i already have a singles and doubles utr and i’m playing tournaments like twice a month
Jack controlled a number of points and missed a lot of overheads and let Rish back in, then he had no confidence to end the point at the net after missing so many
@thugzclub4070 perhaps what is meant is that Rish has speedy kid legs and heaps of kid stamina to get to most balls and get them back = fast defensive.
3 nice young Guys all respectful and barely any silly grunting in the set I felt that the lads played too many shots down the middle also they didn’t come in enough when they forced one another wide Jack could have tried more low slices as Rich gets under the ball and forces it to bounce higher I’d love to have seen a few inside outs and a few serve and volleys Only my two penoth I’m sure that they’ll both become extremely good as they progress, well do to all 😊
The guy in white on the other court was looking at this match for so long, wasn't sure if he was just watching or supposed to coach that girl on her serve..
Just a observation. Rish has a little “Jimmy Arias” in his service motion. The timing of his knee bend, loose arm and shoulders remind me of the Arias serve. He undoubtedly has no idea who Arias is so any similarities are by happenstance I’d guess.
Well, I thought Jack played poorly. I thought he should have won this match but made a bunch of unforced errors that was the difference in the score. I would like to see a rematch where Jack is better physically. Rishvanth does have a great baseline game. Wish them both well in their future careers.
