Honestly? The A9+ looks like a really great deal. I could see myself being happy with it. For as little as $250, I could get it in the 128/8gb configuration and a cheap keyboard case, and from what I can tell it could totally manage the things I would want it to do. Except, I would like the S Pen, I would like a bigger screen, I would like a bigger battery, and so ~$450 to get a secondhand S9 Plus FE with a secondhand official book cover keyboard would be a much bigger bang. As it should be for 80% more cost, but the other side of that higher cost is it has much better trade-in value 3 years from now.
@a1232149 The one that costs more is better. If you can justify spending an extra hundred, you will get a device you will like better. I don't have either of them, the only tablet I can truly give any input on is the S8 Ultra - which is excellent, but even used you'd be hard-pressed to find it for under $500, so it's probably not the one for you.
Do both the Samsung Tab A9 Plus and Tab S9 FE use the same PIN Keyboard as the Tab S9 and S8 series? Curious since Samsung hasn't released an official keyboard for either one of these tablets.

Watching on my a9+, what drive me to buy this is because it has sd chip. Fuc king hate exynos, and its way way cheaper than the s9fe. Gonna get s9+ aswell or the new s10 if they come out this year. A9+ would be great for a budget device, but I really can't stand such a poor quality display. The A9+ was meant to be an upgrade to my old Tab A7 10.4", but the display is noticeably worse than my 2-generation old A7. When scrolling horizontally, it shows a terrible "ghosting" effect / traces left behind the moving icons looking more like 30 Hz than 60 or 90. That is practically non-existent on my A7 and the colors are way better, too. I wish I had returned it as it is now almost unused, I tend to grab my A7 all the time instead of the A9+...
Ahhh so you compared the base model A9+ to the high end S9 FE... I have the A9+ 8GB/128GB and it performs like a champ no lags or stutters. The displays on both the A9+ and the S9 FE are very average when compared to the display of the Lenovo P11 Plus which has the nicest IPS display ever used on a tablet and it came out in 2021....
I just returned the a9 plus with 8gb of ram because it was a terrible experience. It was slow, the battery died quickly, and the screen looked horrible. I'm now buying the s9 fe plus.

From all the reviews, people say the screen is noticeably better looking, and the device runs faster.
@charlesbaxter7405 I just got the s9fe plus, and I am very happy with my decision. In terms of gaming, not a lot has changed, but the cpu is a bit beefer, so no more lag when operating the ui. The screen looks remarkably better, and the audio is a lot more crisp. I'm also getting more battery out of the device.

@bkd2117 it is noticeably faster and smoother on the s9fe but the a9+ is still a great choice it's great at multitasking the audio is relatively equal cameras are not the best obviously but that is just how It is . All in all it's great with the s9fe just being slightly better by having the s pen and faster smoother graphics

I'm not that techy but my question is with all the updates that happens over the years with the firmware. Would the A9+ 64gb be enough would it show some lag later on and same thing for the S9 FE at 128gb? I wouldn't want to keep upgrading a tablet every year or 2
both the S9FE and A9+ have similar processors and both will begin to lag equally over time, however, the S9FE has the faster memory (DDR5 vs DDR4) so if you really want to stretch its lifespan get the S9FE.

I haven't been able to find a definitive answer for its connectivity capabilities, particularly how it could be used as a second screen for my laptop. It sounds like it can be used that way wireless? I'd need it to just function exactly like a 2nd monitor would. Do you know if it can do that?

The 10 screen is far better. But if your using it to view media the a9 is better because of aspect ratio.

The only knock about the a9 plus is the battery life and charging speed. Other than that, it is good for the money.

Yes, you can use it as a second screen wirelessly only. You only can't connect it to an external monitor using a cable.
You can extend it wirelessly thru third party apps also
