Shinedown is the most underrated band out there. I'm not sure why they don't get the airplay or reactions they deserve. Those dudes can bring hard, they have songs that pull emotions from you. And very humble and fan friendly. please please more Shinedown.
Shinedown is awesome. So many incredible songs. "Bully" is powerful, "Cut the Cord" is intense, "If You Only Knew" is captivating. There's also "Sound of Madness", "Second Chance", "45". But I think the cover of "Simple Man" is their best.
"Second Chance" is my favorite vocal performance of his but there are many great songs they do. "45" , "The Crow and the Butterfly" are also great along with their cover of "Simple Man".
Brent Smith, lead singer, definitely has a distinct voice that you know it's Shinedown. They have a lot of great tracks. He also has a side project with guitarist all acoustic called Smith & Myers, also good stuff
Shinedown is great, although some people criticize them for going "softer" in the later albums. They still have some heavier songs in all of them, but they have become more melodic for sure, and i dont mind it at all because it's great music regardless. I would suggest "How Do You Love?" Since its one of my favorite songs from them, and was probably the catalyst for some of the criticism as thats the mega hit that probably made them comfortable in doing more songs like that. But it's an amazing song. Although my favorite is probably "Unity", and thats from their first album i believe. Also a softer song but still in the era of this song Devour and The Crow and the Butterfly.
Love watching your reactions and the genuine "feels" of the songs you listen to. I think it's hard to tame down Brent Smiths vocals, but when he does; I'd have to say "Call Me" is perfect and like others have said "Second Chance" "Save Me" & "Simple Man" are definitely on that list. I've never cared for these guys. Not saying they are terrible......just not my favorite. All their songs sound the same. His voice has one sound. Again....not terrible... just not for me
I don't think you have heard songs from all 7 albums his voice does sound different from 1st album to 7th. Smith & Myers acoustic project he definitely sings different. When he sang the National Anthem a few weeks ago no raspy vocals.
Sound of Madness defined an entire generation of metal honestly. It was such a solid and influential album all the way through.
