Hi Ashley, new to your channel, and your videos are awesome!! Seriously don't understand why your vids don't have more views! Hope you haven't stopped making them, they are very informative, thanks for sharing your baseball knowledge with us!!
*The Wax Pack* was reviewed a few weeks ago by a contributing writer on the Twinkietown site on SBNation. Definitely a book I wanna read. Right now I have *Ballpark: Baseball in the American City* checked out from my local library but I have been too anxious to be able to sit down an read for the last 6 weeks or so and have only read a couple of chapters. Good to see you again and thanks for the suggestions!
Hola Ashley -- This episode surprised me because I consider it to be in your top 3 videos. You did a great job summarizing some books that I've been pondering whether or not to read, and your recommendations made it an easy choice for me. Thank you for another terrific episode, and please do consider recommending more baseball books!
Good to see you back doing videos. Hopefully baseball will be back soon and I can start listening to you on Bless You Boys podcast again. As a baseball card collector I need to read more and learn more about the history of the game!! I recently read My Dad Yogi. Great book and easy to read. Take care!!
Hi Ashley! Thanks for giving us an update and a video to watch. I've been reading "The Glory of their Times" by Lawrence Ritter. As a relatively new fan In enjoying the look at early baseball. Take care of yourself!
I have honestly not read too many baseball books. But there is a new Willie Mays autobiography, and a Lou Gehrig memoir, that came out in May, both have caught my attention.
@@AshleyMacLennan90feetfromhome I remember watching the movie, but didn't know at that time it was based on a novel. I do remember watching I think it was the 2002 Oakland A's winning streak.
Thanks for the baseball book recommendations! I am going to have to pick up a copy of the wax pack, it sounds right up my alley. I definitely remember, the excitement of buying baseball cards back in the '90s.
I'm definitely going to look into these books. Before Covid-19 I was reading quite a bit on the train to work. I've had to switch to driving to work and my reading has gone in the toilet. Last two baseball books I read were Tyler Kepner's "K: A History of Baseball in Ten Pitches" and Carrie Muskat's "Banks to Sanders to Grace". Highly recommend both.
Your posts are really helpful and well presented. I'm going to watch rhem all. I'm from the UK and just became interested in baseball, so I've got a long way to go! Keep up the good work. Subscribed.
We are reaaaaally missing baseball and taking/video documenting Brewers road trips! Glad to subscribe to you. Let us know if you're ever in MKE and you're welcome to join the fam! Any baseball books you'd recommend for middle schoolers?
I have had a hard time finding content for younger readers (and I'm actually trying to write a middle-grade baseball book) but there's one called Out Standing In My Field that I've heard good things about! www.goodreads.com/book/show/4460384-out-standing-in-my-field
Ashley i just descoved your channel tonight. I subscribed. Looking forward to watching. Have you read Ball Four by Jim Bountan? I met him in the late 70s when he was making his comeback thru the minors. Play Ball

They vary in quality. I REALLY loved Moneyball though, one of my fave baseball books ever.
