- 2 walks in this video and we meet a subscriber.
Lockdown ends on 29th of March in England although we still have to stay local until the 12th of April. No idea yet where we will be going but it will be nice to get some overnighters somewhere very soon.

I really enjoy watching your videos and like your channel👍😃
Thank you very much!
Thank you for your gentle real videos, I don’t know why but they make me feel hopeful and relaxed.
Thanks Kieran, glad you are enjoying the videos. Take care 🙂👍
Living not far from Atlanta- If you guys do decide to do a trip like the one Carol was talking about, please let us know ahead of time, I would love to meet you guys and take you out for a meal and a coffee or tea!. I could give you some great pointers on where you should visit.
Thanks for the kind offer Marilyn 🙂👍
Hi Carol and Ken great to see you're back out there, I love that walk and have done it a couple times. I can answer the Poo bag question, people will hang the bag where they can see it on the return journey of their walk and pick it up to take home, this saves them having to carry it, this normally happens when there are not many dog bins on a walk. We live in Tiverton and walk the canal a lot and it's a known practice there. If you had an unresponsible dog owner they would just let the dog poo and leave it. Hope this helps as I know people do question it and I did too until I had dogs. Love love your vlogs and can't wait til you travel again, Donna
Thanks for that explanation, I have never heard that before so it’s good to know 🙂 Glad you are enjoying the videos, take care 👍
Very nice walk on a sunny day and good to learn about the memorial. Not long left to practice the van routine before the off! I agree that it’s been wonderful to discover new walks in the local area during lockdown.
Thanks Louise. We might have a couple of one-nighters locally soon to get back into campervan mode 😀👍 Take care.
Sussex and the South Downs - so hard to beat. Another great video with an uplifting title. Thanks again Ken and Carol.
Cheers John. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
It's so lovely to get out, especially as lockdown starts to ease! You're right, the one positive is an appreciation of what we have on ourdoorstep. Like you, Ken, I love talking to the animals we encounter on our walks; i'm of the opinion that they appreciate it! lol
I’m with you on that one David. It would be so rude to just walk by and not acknowledge all the animals. Enjoy your walks and stay safe 🙂👍
Ahoy Pirates! .) Another great sunny escape into the wild! Aye! Lt. Ken, never worry about your high level of compassion, all the four-legged appreciate it! :D Love the way you both keep on rockin'! Spring is here again! :D Best wishes and cheers to more adventures, the world awaits, me buckos! Capt. of the good old Blackthorne
Thanks for your support Kata, all the best to you 😀👍
I just truly enjoy your storytelling.
Thanks Janet that makes me happy 👍
What wonderful rolling scenery. The Brighton Pavilion was featured in a recruitment campaign in India, claiming that the Royal Family had given up a Royal Palace for the injured soldiers of India. They showed photographs of the soldiers in bed in grand rooms.
Thanks Chris, we didn’t realise that about the Indian army recruitment campaign 🙂👍
@@LifeistooshortCK... it was used as their hospital, but also as a recruitment tool ..... never let a crisis go to waste.
Thanks Ken for using what 3 words app , It give me the precise locations of some the beautiful places Carol and yourself visit, what a time saver .👍👍👍
No problem, glad you find it useful. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
you live near the beautiful countryside. that was some walk 🚶♂️ you both did. what a beautiful day.
Nice seeing you both again.
Thanks Moira. We are very lucky to live in a rural area near the South Downs and the Ashdown Forest. Take care 🙂👍
Such bright and sunny days, a sign of what's to come I hope. That was a good walk to the memorial ....note to self, bring batteries. So easy done, have kicked myself for doing that a few times.
Must try harder in future, we always seem to forget something 😊 We still have our fingers crossed for being able to travel on 12th April so not long now 🤞🙂
A great walk on a bright sunny day. 🌞 Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Martin 🙂👍
Hello to you both nice to see you out and about looked like a very nice walk nice sunny day lets hope we can all start getting out walking and enjoying the better weather. Enjoy your weekend thanks for the video always enjoy them. Take care stay safe.
Hi Shaun, hope all is good with you. We are certainly looking forward to the better weather and longer days with the clocks going forward tonight. Thanks for watching and enjoy the rest of your weekend 🙂👍
Sussex has got some beautiful countryside . I do miss it when we are allowed I'm off to Brighton and the surrounding countryside can't wait. 🥰
Thanks for watching Maggie. Have a great time in Brighton. Not long to wait now 😀👍
We both enjoy watching your adventures in the little red van. Keep up the interesting and informative vlogs. Hopefully we’ll all be able travel a little further shortly.
Thank you for your lovely comment and glad you enjoy the videos. We hope to be back on the road in the little red camper soon 🤞😀
Nice video looked a lovely walk
Awesome drone footage , thankyou for sharing big 👍👍
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍
enjoyed the rolling landscape and openess of the area.
Thanks Mark 🙂👍
Regarding dog poo bags, I see many people in France leave the plastic bag (which takes 100 years to degrade) on the trail expecting somebody else to remove it..it is more eco friendly to leave the dog poo on the ground which decomposes in 6 months..some people are either thick or inconsiderate...makes my blood boil...
There is no excuse leaving it for someone else to deal with. We have have seen them thrown up into trees where no one can reach them 😠
This is very beautiful place for walk stay safe and healthy 🥰🥰
Thanks for watching, you too 🙏👍
Enjoyed the walk from my armchair. :) I think we will all take a trip or two to get back to being organised tourists. Not long; just need to be patient.
Glad you enjoyed it Robert. Thanks for watching 👍🙂
Lovely to see you back. We've missed you. We had a few issues with our dog Blue and your chosen backing track.. Every time the music beat came he woffed.. Must have sounded like a dog barking to him and he got well worked up lol. Loved the double... YUMMY.. Go Carol!
Sorry for any psychological damage caused to Blue! Lol. Glad you enjoyed the yummies 😋 Take care 🙂👍
So look forward to your lovely blogs. A familiar walk today.
Thanks Helen, glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍
Always interesting. Thanks.
I like watching your videos. They make me feel so home sick!! Greetings from Saudi Arabia!
Glad you enjoy them and we remind you of home. Very different scenery where you are 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Thank you for your kind reply. I've tried to email you but unsuccessfully. I'm using sn old smartphone!?
That looked a good walk, I’m guessing the cuppa tea tasted extra special ☕️☕️🍪
Thanks for watching Mark. Everything tastes better in the campervan 😀
They are on the move here in Wales, campsites opened today !! We can’t pick our new caravan up till 14th from Alcester in Warwickshire,. Keep safe both of you x 🏴🏴🏴🏴👍
Blooming lockdown rules, what a shame you have to wait for your new caravan 😖 All the best to you and happy travels when you are able 🙂👍
@@LifeistooshortCK at least we can move more than 5 miles now, we can go to Swansea, up in the hills and to Margam Castle which have a couple of miles up the road. You both take care of yourselves and stay safe x
That was a gorgeous walk! I always enjoy your adventures! Dan from Travel Trolls was saying it might not work for you to wild camp. I hope your Mr. Boris let’s you do it. I’m so looking forward to your days of travel and freedom again! Mary
Time will tell and either way we will let everyone know. Our van is very small and can be tucked away in all sorts of places. I do think we will have to be choosey where we stop for the night, more than normal in the early days.
Great video as always, enjoyed the drone view of the memorial that i've visited loads of times. Going again this week as weather looks fantastic. Martin H.
Cheers Martin and thanks for the suggestion. Enjoy your visit, looks like you’ll get good weather 🙂👍
Nice to see you both out about look's nice out there good video .
Thanks Robert. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍
That looked a lovely walk how crazy my sister lives in Brighton portslade it's so lovely down there we haven't been able to go down because of lockdown so hopfully next year we get down and do a few walks last time we were down we found a lovely spot on the beech by a cafe think it's called crafters cafe or somthing like that it was so quiet An peacfull xx
Hope you get to visit Brighton again soon Nicola 🙂
Nice to see you out and about again. 😃
Thanks Del ☺️
News from Canada. My hubby and I both in our early 50’s and my mom 75 are getting our first Pfizer doses of the Covid vaccine on Tuesday ( my birthday ). I hope you are well and can travel again soon.
Great news Samantha but probably not the birthday present you really wanted 😁 Hope all goes well for you both and your mum 🙂👍
Looks a beautiful area. Realising myself the organisation needed with all the camera equipment ... went out without the SIM card the other day 🙄. Sure we’ll all soon be back in the swing of things though 🙂.
Thanks for watching. So easy to forget something when you are out of the routine 😊 Not long to wait now. Happy travels 👍😀
Hi Ken and carol great video nice looks lovely 👍
Thanks Rod 🙂👍
We'll keep our fingers crossed for you! We just managed a quick weekend break inline with guidance in Poland and are planning another if we are allowed to travel during the Easter break. Good luck!
Thanks for watching. Hope you get to travel during Easter, we are hoping for some days out now the stay at home rule has been relaxed in England 🙂👍
Hey guys good to see you out there - I need to get my act together lol and get ready to get out there. I like the way you are using more drone more as a tripod - never thought it like that - also sugar on a toastie I need to try that - take care
Definitely recommend sugar on a toastie 😋 The mini drone is great to send up and use as a tripod as you can easily launch and catch it with your hand. Hope you can get away in Harry soon. Best wishes to you both 😀
Very nice video. I got my 2 vaccine shots for 2 reasons, one so that after a year I could get hugs from my children and grandchildren. 2 so that when the world opens again, I Can resume my travels to Scotland
Thanks Marie. Those are two very good reasons, hope they are both fulfilled soon 🙂👍
Watchya Ken x Carol Lovely walk day out vlog again. Thumbnail ? “ A Fly tried to Nick Our Van” LOL Have a nice weekend “Freedom countdown” ATB Stephen xx 🚐🚐😘
Now that would just be click bait 😁😁😁 The days are certainly counting down now. Enjoy your weekend, thanks Stephen 👍😀
Nice video. Beautiful countryside.
Thanks Larry 🙂👍
Just a observation I think your jumber and jacket has shrunk Ken?. Just a bit of fun . Lovely vlog as usual. Thank you for sharing.
That is my excuse and I am sticking to it like a sticky toffee pudding 😏👍
Lovely to see you out and about again and good luck with the diet:) Lovely drone shots Ken I don't think the cyclists had a clue they were being filmed:)
When I heard you say the Chhatri I knew exactly where you are. Richard Vobes who lives in Worthing did a video about it. You can see bullet holes in the Chhatri fired
from German aircraft during WW2. In some bushes close by are some pipes and bits of concrete which could well have been remains of the cremator system they used to cremate the unfortunate soldiers who died
I never knew that Sandy. This is what I love about RUclips, not only do I get to watch interesting stuff from other Tubers but we learn so much more about a place from people who know more about it. I will have a watch of Richard’s video later. I am enjoying the Mini 2 even though mine has developed a fault that prevents firmware updates from being installed. I could send it back to DJI but its a faff sending stuff to the Netherlands at the moment due to all the new rules they have imposed. If it gets lost in transit I get nothing for it as DJI write NO COMMERCIAL VALUE on the returns chit. They won’t insure the loss and of course how can a courier pay compensation on something declared as having no value. So I will keep it. Luckily I use an old phone as a dedicated controller so I can turn off updates and keep it as it is for now. As long as I get 2 years out of it I will be happy and something better will have replaced it. The two people walking definitely spotted the drone but I am not so sure about the riders to be honest. The mini 2 is pretty quiet and it was coming at them from out of the sun. Bandits one o’clock tacker tacker tacker tacker......😏👍
Hopefully you are correct about "not long now" wish. The walking paths look considerably less muddy that your recent walks. Between your videos and all the Brit TV I am been watching, I am feeling a bit "chuffed" about the do's and don't of British life. For us the covid virus has helped us to appreciate all the efforts our family and friends have made to put this epidemic behind us. Yesterday, we got to hug about grandkids, most of them, for the first time in a year. Stay safe.
Thanks for your lovely comment. We were glad to see less mud on these walks and didn’t even need the wellies! So glad you could hug your grandchildren after all this time. Let’s hope the worst is finally behind us and we can start getting back to a more normal life. Take care 🙂👍
I like the different intro, what an amazing drone shots, you're doing a great job. The last part of the video, was a little shaky? but overall a pleasure to watch, and yea the voice over ..... good story telling
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍
Beautiful drone footage 🙂
Thank you Sandra 😊👍
...the date was purposely set to avoid a mass movement at Easter ...with the supposed ending of all restrictions occurring after the two May Bank Holidays ...to be honest think the whole of this Summer will see hordes of people in the parks, on the beaches and on the roads ...especially so if foreign travel is too difficult/expensive ...just remember the scenes at Bournemouth last year
I think that is a spot on assessment of what is going to happen. If so the answer must be to avoid the tourist hot spots 👍
Nice to see the English countryside is turning green again All brown here still with some snow. Loved that memorial. Do you have any ancient Neolithic or Roman sites in your area. Stay safe. No jabs here yet.
Yes it was nice to walk on firm ground again and we didn’t really need the wellies! We were hoping to visit Fishbourne Roman Palace while we were in Chichester last December but it was closed due to covid. There is also a Roman Villa at Bignor, between Petworth and Arundel. There are prehistoric sites at Chanctonbury and Cissbury rings which we visited in our Lockdown 10 video published in June 2020. Hope you get some warmer weather soon and of course your jabs. Take care 🙂👍
It occurs to me the barn doors on the back of your van would be better for camping in the U.S. The larger door would face the next campsite over and block more of their view of my site. My doors would work better in the U.K. Maybe we should trade? Red doors on the back of my silver van would look a little odd though!
Hadn’t thought of that Ethan, I wonder if there is a reason they are the way they are? Not sure the silver would go with our red and white colour scheme either 😁
Hi there
I spoke to you a while back about insurance for campers on your recommendation I thought I’d let you know I took out the insurance with JustKampers and their agreed valuation, so thanks very much I to will recommend them to other campers.
Hi Maxine, thanks for letting us know. We have just renewed with them as that agreed valuation is well worth having. Be aware though that if you renew next year you have to re-submit the details again for the agreed valuation. I was surprised at that but hey ho its done 👍
It's the bickies and frys Ken, you need to watch them!!
You are right Stephen. I’m keeping well away from the bickie and cake tins for a while 😁👍
Thanks for THE Speek Walking VIDEO Hello FROM DENMARK BJARNE XPOST ISLAND LOLLAND DENMARK 🇩🇰🇬🇧☀️🚐🚶♂️🚶♀️
Thanks for watching. Greetings to you in Denmark 👋🇩🇰
Thank you👍 have a good weekend😊
You too. Thank you Anita 🙏👍
@@LifeistooshortCK cheers👍
If you do decide to do a camper tour of the American Deep South, let us know. My wife and I would love to meet you, and we have a place that you can camp.
Thanks Frank for your kind offer, we will bear it in mind if we head your way 😀👍
Don't feel to bad about putting weight on Ken most of us have, these lockdown will have a major impacted on the obesity rate for years to come. If only it was as easy to get the weight off as it is to put on, I've put on a stone in the last 8 mouth's so have stepped up my exercise in the last 2 weeks with long walks & bike rides, plus restricting my food in take to the hours of 10am - 6pm & have lost 7Ib so far, feel a lot better for it. Hope it goes as well for you, all the best. Loved the vlog, hopefully may more to come soon. 👍😁🚶♂️
I don’t feel bad about it really and I certainly enjoyed myself getting that fat. Well done on the weight loss. I do similar but I only eat one meal a day, cut out carbs as much as I can without making myself miserable. I don’t enjoy it but the weight does come off and my health tends to improve 👍. Cheers 😁
What could be nicer than an early Springtime walk in some lovely countryside. The sound track at the end of the video was fab. May I ask who the artist is? Thanks
Thanks ALC. That track is Sea Salt by Post Av 🙂
@@LifeistooshortCK Thanks for that, it's a great find :-)
Thanks for the what 3 words..very useful...will the van get a name someday? Or will it remain the little red camper? ( van rouge is my suggestion )Great photography as usual
Van rouge would be a good one but we are not really into naming it. To be honest the van is just a tool to allow us to do what we want to do so it would be changed if needed without any sentimentality. Carol might not feel that way mind. It has become the little red camper as it makes a good way to link to future videos 😏👍
Hiya both, I've just subscribed to your channel. Loved watching your France and spain videos. I would love to do this, I'm thinking of sleeping in the car, will try it over here first tho.
Hi Peter, welcome to the channel and thanks for subscribing. We would urge you to sleep in the car and try it out first before committing to a van. Have fun 🤩 👍
Enjoyed this video very much, can you tell me please Ken where exactly what the road number was where you parked and you went back to check your alarm, you then crossed the road and walked into the Ashdown Forest, as a photographer I saw some possible images for me to capture at this spot,Looking forward to future videos, regards to you both, Colin.
Hi Colin, do you have the what 3 words app ? It’s free and if you enter the code I show in the video it will show you the exact spot down to the meter 👍 The 3 words location is torched.handrail.mankind
Lest We Forget.
We will remember their sacrifice.
good see vid
Cheers Lee 🙂👍
Get your jabs and head to the U.S. camping and RV er dream here. :)
We would love to do that one day and I’m sure we will 🙂👍
I want to move down south.
There are plenty of scenic areas all over the UK so don’t pack your bags just yet 😊👍
@@LifeistooshortCK yeah, but the south is much nicer than Manchester area, even though we have the Peak District, I'm not keen, Scotland lovely of course, and of course the South is nearer to France for a quick getaway(when we re allowed) but it does look interesting around ur area. PS do u think ull ever get a bigger van or are u happy with ur little red one?
@@susanwoods174 we are happy with the little red camper for now and want to explore more of Europe which will probably be next year now. I am sure in the future we will get another van, probably a bit larger 😁
Didn't you have a bigger caravan?
We used to have a Bailey Unicorn Valencia caravan but sold it when we bought the NV200 campervan in Oct 2019. We fancied a bit of an adventure and a lot more spontaneity 😀
@@LifeistooshortCK Nice. Enjoy.
