    Just about got the trip, this was probably why he was beaten for the first time ever in the Benson and Hedges at York less than three weeks later.

    Some feat for the Brigadier who was unproven over 12f beating a horse in Parnell who had two months earlier been runner-up in the French equivalent of the Ascot Gold Cup.
