    Hi everyone! I've uploaded some samples of my notes formatting, Paper 1, Paper 2 and my HL Written Assignment to this google drive for you to peruse at your leisure. Keep in mind that I did these under the conditions of the old syllabus, which has all the same marking criteria, but in HL we only had to do one guided literary analysis rather than two. Therefore, for you guys, the analysis and structure will be the same but everything will just be a little bit shorter (basically, they won't be expecting you to write a 6 page long response under the new syllabus) - Enjoy! 😊 drive.google.com/drive/folders/1KKWEOOdbiNbNdPr3rPntqq8bpba0P-X-?usp=sharing

      Hi quick question! I printed the poem "The Hug" and analyzed it without writing the essay, and when I went to check on yours and what you captured of it, I saw that we had COMPLETELY different interpretations of the meaning as I saw a woman who is a prostitute looking for affection wherever she can find it and her illusion of what love is, and then I saw yours and am kind of freeking out because it was completely different. Is it normal to interpret something so different than someone else who got a good score on the paper? Do you think my interpretation is reasonable or absolutely crazy hahaha. Plus help

    Loved the video. Could you by any chance upload a copy of the list of words to describe tone that you used to study? It would be of great help. Many thanks.

      Wow, that is actually so interesting! It's cool how some of the common threads of the analytical sentence structure come through in the 4 C's like conventions = technique and then changes/connections = effect and concepts = meaning. I also love the "changes" aspect of that acronym because something I didn't mention in this video is how important it is to analyse when the tone, structure or perspective changes (if you look at mark schemes for past papers, addressing these shifts is usually included) so that's awesome that it's built into your process of analysis - thanks for sharing and helping others with their exam prep too!!

    wow, it’s so coincidental how my english lit paper 1 is next week and you have made a video dedicated to it💕Thank you so much for doing this. Could you send me the list of adjectives you refer to for the authors tone?

    • @ashleysacademy7496
      @ashleysacademy7496  3 года назад

      I tended to just google "list of adjectives to describe author's tone" and so I'd use a slightly different list each time. But I do particularly like the final page of this one that groups adjectives that refer to similar tones: pchs.psd202.org/documents/adepew/1522547245.pdf
      - good luck for your paper 1 next week!

    Hi Ashley, I'm helping someone with Literature HL, and I wanted to double check the requirements for Paper 1 at this level. Is it correct that one should do 2 literary analyses for Paper 1 (prose and poetry) without guiding questions? Thank you!

      Unlike papers 1 and 2, the setup of the IO has changed quite a bit with the latest syllabus so I don't think I'd be able to speak on it with confidence unfortunately!
