    Thank you for your video. I have been looking at a lot of class B vans, I prefer the short ones 19 or 18 feet long. I like the thor layout the best with the bath in the rear and a very open space to hangout and an easy way to set up the bed. Unfortunately I read a lot of bad reviews about the quality and craftmanship of these RV's. Have the new ones corrected these issues.
    Thanks!

      Good to hear from you. The bed is a bit of a disappointment but the price is not bad. Without making the sofa into a bed, the bed could be used as a twin bed for a single person once all the cushions are removed. Thanks for Watching my videos!

    I see this version has the seatbelts for the sitting area (bed). Is this an option or should all 20K have them? I ask because I cannot locate my seatbelts on my 20K...so wondering if I'm not looking hard enough or they may not have been included. Thanks if you read this :)

    Great review Ruby. One observation, please go over the electrical systems.
    I love the floorplan and would be fine with the bed traveling alone. Room enough for my 5'11" self to sleep with a spot for my CPAP on the aft side table. A Murphy bed would block the windows, perhaps a jack-knife sofa instead of the pull out set up with the cushion jamboree/origami.
    I think the overall power system gets overlooked. The propane/lithium combo is a game changer IMHO. Factory 3,000 watt inverter with 200 amp hours of lithium standard and the option of the 460 amp hour upgrade, while still keeping the propane for heat, 2 burner cooking and hot water. Bonus point for the convection microwave.
    Not sure if the coach AC will run off the batteries with the Re(Li)able 460Ah Power Pack. If so, this power system will be a boondocking beast combined with the auto start under hood generator. Still a beast with the 200 amp hour base lithium if you don't need to run the AC.
    Put this floorplan in the new Ford Transit Trail AWD chassis and call me a customer (preferably with a Jack-Knife sofa instead of the cushion jamboree/origami).

    • @Adventure-Mom
      @Adventure-Mom  2 года назад

      I agree the electrical system is one of the most important aspects of a great off-grid (boondocking) RV. Unfortunately, I have not seen a really great lithium system yet, but they are improving each year. I agree that current RVs need both a propane system as well as a generator until such time as we have a lithium/solar system that is capable of continuously powering a RV. Thank you for watching and supporting my channel!

    The sofa makes an easy twin bed for a solo traveler without needing to extend it. Not too bad otherwise either. [Hey, people, this is for campers, not cry babies. 😄]
    Do you know if the air conditioner will run on the inverter and batteries?
    Would like to see more windows that open. Perhaps aftermarket items can be used on the front door windows to shield rain, provide screens & airflow, and security when sleeping.

      @@geocacherny7030 I don't have my RV (at least not YET)...but if the housing market continues it's "inflationary" trajectory (as the auto-truck market has been as well), I may be priced-out of a house/town-home/condo (I already AM here in CO -- going back to TX shortly!). In that case, an "also overpriced" $200K Class B will be a STEAL in comparison to a bricks & mortar property. ;-)

    As a camper van fan I was surprised by how much I like the floor plan. Setting up the bed looks like a pain but it beats sleepn on the floor. Thor does a good job with the decor too. Quality? That's debatable.

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 2 года назад +1

      At least it's not built on the ubiquitous Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (diesel) chassis, even if the ProMaster isn't that great of a Class B platform (and anemic as its gas engine is). Hopefully we'll see more Bs being built on Ford Transits, even though their AWD Transits SHOULD also be available in true 4x4 -- I mean Ford DOES know how to make 4x4 vehicles, yes? Imagine a B with Ford's FX4 package (and lift). Nice...and that would give MB/Sprinter "4x4s" like the Winnebago Revel and Jayco Terrain( ?) a run for their money AND challenge MB's long-time dominance in the Class B RV segment. Still, it seems ProMaster and Transit-based Class Bs aren't out in enough numbers yet to do that...and a true 4x4/lifted model isn't even on the ProMaster or Transit radar.

    • @richbowie76
      @richbowie76 2 года назад

      @@billredding2000 Completely agree! I never understood why Ford didnt offer 4x4 in the transit. I am seeing more adventure van builds on the Transit now but MB still dominates.

      @@richbowie76 For a few years now, the off-roading/over-landing/boon-docking segment (which has been GROWING) of the Class B buyers have been asking for more capable Class B RVs. Only when Winnebago's Revel came out did we see some movement in that direction. But that was a few years ago, and that's STILL all we've had -- except for the Jayco clone of the Revel. Aside from being SLOW to innovate, the Class B makers seem to be deaf, or, just refuse to get serious about more-capable "camping way out in the sticks" vehicles. Even Dean Rumple of Pleasure-Way -- who keeps touting how "innovative" they are -- is missing the irony of that claim because P-W is NOT that "innovative" when it comes to going farther off the beaten path to camp.
      It's really silly how SLOW the Class B industry moves...
      Well, maybe in 2 years of so when I can afford one (when my Jeep Gladiator is paid-off and I have $200K+ of spare change under the couch pillows) there WILL be more capable Class B available...but I'm not counting on it.
