Classic Rush in the early years.
This was written prior to the album being recorded and prior to a Neil coming up with more insightful lyrics. Whatever people think of their early lyrics they could certainly play their instruments quite well from the very beginning.

I hope you continue to do Rush reactions. They are my favorite band and I love watching you react to their songs.

Like the way you listen to the song twice. Always appreciate Rush more the second time I listen to them.

Glad you haven't given up on Rush. It is so weird that the first album was blocked. 🤷‍♀️
Fly by Night was one of their transition albums where they had hard rockers like this song but also the more prog direction they were taking with Bytor and the Snow Dog.
This is a good solid song with Neil taking the drumming to the next level.

Love this song, underrated deep track form Rush. Neil's first album with Rush off of Fly By Night.

I love Fly by Night! It is one of about 10 Rush albums (out of 16 or 17 studio LP's) that are double length (double the space on the vinyl means room for wider dynamic range), 180-200 gram discs (thick for deeper higher-fidelity grooves). This ads up to a near perfect replica of the remaster from the original master tapes and direct to metal mastering (DMM-technique for more precise copies to the master cut).
They sound incredible, but they are expensive, far more than most are willing to pay that are used to the costs CD or streaming. Not to mention the need of a turn table, etc. and all those costs. Especially if you prefer digital to analog audio.
But I'm old school with old school equipment and I'm willing to pay the price but not count the cost, when it comes to Rush.

Neil's drums on this song are NUTS!! As you know, the Fly By Night album was the first time Neil appeared on record with Rush. He just STEPPED UP and crushed it, big time! There is so much going on for Neil on this one. He did not write the lyrics on this song, and it had been a song in Rush's repertoire since before Neil joined. John Rutsey's version of this song -- as seen on the St. Catherines Middle School performance -- was nowhere near as well articulated. His performance was fine and good, but Neil did take it to the next level, as is his wont! :)

Another Queen favorite with a great back story is Spread Your Wings official video. The band decided to record this in the back yard at Roger’s newly purchased home (he wasn’t moved in yet) on a cold January day. They were going to make this video and the one for We Will Rock You. The guys were cold and cranky. Freddie was drinking from a bottle of brandy trying to get warm and he got drunk. He had to throw up in Roger’s bushes. He was so drunk he couldn’t play the piano so at the beginning you can see John Deacon playing the piano with his bass around his neck and has to start playing it quickly without standing up. You see Freddie trying to drag the mic stand around (he’s not used to the stands lol) and finally pulls the mic off the stand. At the end of the video you see Freddie walking towards the camera with the mic wrapped around his neck lol. Great video and song written by John Deacon.

Love your reactions. Would love to hear more Queen. Here are some I suggest with a little info. Now I’m Here live at Wembley 1986. All 4 members playing their best. This is Roger Taylor’s toughest song to perform and there is also a multicam video of this same performance focusing on his drumming. Save Me live at Montreal 1981. Brian starts out playing the piano with his guitar in his lap. Halfway thru Freddie comes running down the steps and doesn’t miss a note and takes over at the piano. Brian wrote Now I’m Here about their first US tour opening for Mott the Hoople. Brian got Hepatitis while on the tour and had to cut the tour short. He wrote the song while in bed recovering. Save Me was written by Brian about a friend of his going thru a breakup. After Freddie died he admitted the friend was Freddie.

Geddy wrote the lyrics, one of the last ones not written by Neil. And he dropped "droll" in there.

Perhaps try contacting them (Geddy, Alex) somehow to keep the blocking from happening? I am sure they would be happy to have you promoting their early music on RUclips.

Nice reaction to a great song. That song describes me very well. New subscriber here. I don’t know who you have reacted to. I was a teenager in the 70’s and I usually liked other songs on the album then the songs that were played on the radio. If you haven’t listened to Ted Nugent yet there’s two songs that Meatloaf sang on the album “Free for All”, Together and Writing on the Wall that no one reacts to, and of course Stranglehold is another great song. Hope I get to see you react to them.
Thanks for persevering and sharing your reaction to Rush one of my favorite bands.
