Hi Veronica, I really appreciate for this eye opening on how to write a good SOP.... I will like to ask the following questions.
1) If I am applying for a school in France is English proficiency needed?
2) Is there a minimum number of publications one must have?
3) I will like you to explain more on the aspect of explaining why a particular school and course was selected..
4) Do I need to apply for admission in the selected school?

Thank you Veronica for responding. I want to ask if there are there accredited courses by PTDF in UK schools. Or I can pick any course related to the oil/gas industry in the approved UK schools.

I have a question though
My proposed course of study or rather research interest is in the medical field and most of my profiles relates to that
Thought I did choose a related course which is biotechnology
In writing my SOP I don’t really have strong or experiences relating to oil or the energy industry
I don’t know how to go about this
Pls what do you suggest I do

Can I choose the same course in different university or does the courses have to differ
Hii Veronica, please for the SOP word count, does the heading of the SoP count for the 500 words..
Or just the SoP itself should be 500 words without the Heading
Can i just apply to germany for all three choices.
Secondly, is it at the point of application , i get to see the schools and my course choice and make my selections before going on to write my sop. Before submitting the sop?

Thank you so much. You have indeed say it all. Thou am having one challenge regarding the countries/schools/courses.. I will have prefer picking UK but I have checked and couldn't find the course I intended going for Which is Environmental policy. France was where I could get a school that offers that course. Then the 2nd one was still France, thou a related course Disaster management. While the last one was Malaysia.
Your choices are to either go for your preferred courses in the other cities asides uk or look for a closely related course in uk schools. Think about it carefully and I am sure you will eventually settle for one that seems best to you.
Please I have admission from the school I want to apply to can I add it to my personal statement or is there a link tou admission letter for the ptdf scholarship

Thank you for watching. In this case, select a similar course available amongst the options and apply for the scholarship then you can convert afterwards when you are awarded.

1. Do I have to gain admission before application?
2. I’m an orphan, can I indicate that in my SOP?
3. The 3 schools I pick can they be in 3 different countries or does it have to be one particular country?
4. What would you advice me in general as an intending applicant.
5. Can I possibly get a template or a sample SOP from you cause that’s where I’m currently at. I’m kinda stuck as I don’t know how to go about it.

Hi Elah, thank you for reaching out.
1. You do not have to gain admission first. Complete your application and go ahead with your admission processing after.
2. You should only include being an orphan if it inspires you in any way to further your studies or if it impacts your intending course of study. So it depends on what context you will be using it for.
3. For United Kingdom, you are not allowed to combines schools or courses from other countries but for the other countries(Malaysia, Germany and France) you can make your choices combining any of them.
4. Believe in yourself, start with what you have, put your best into the application and trust God.

hey Vee, do I have to select a Uk as a choice of country ? I selected France as my first choice, please do you know if the France schools are English speaking
France is France, German is German, that's why people are running away from there.
Please what about discussing about the area of research?
Please, must the words be 500 words, mine is 535 words I'm finding it hard to remove more from it? I'm using your template.

Note that the personal statement is primarily about your character more than just your qualifications which are already summarised in your CV

I want to believe you can make payment through your debit card. You should just follow through with the steps on the application portal and you will be fine.

Hi Veronica, it is part of the requirements for this year's application.. it was stated "WAEC/GCE results and the PINs on the application forms to enable PTDF to view the O'level results on the relevant website".. please do you know that the PIN here could mean?
@@jenniferebulue I am assuming it is your scratch card PIN number that you used to view your result but I am not very sure because I didn’t need to input that when I was applying. Is it a compulsory field?
@@Lifechatswithveronica Yes, it is a compulsory field..most of us sat for waec a long time ago, how do we get scratch card? I tried even calling the help lines on PTDF websites and they were all Unavailable
