Mr. Paul. Have you tried reverse grip dumbbell presses on an incline bench? You just have your palms facing you instead of away. I found it puts stress on your upper chest with very little shoulder engagement. Good video.
I’m 72 and go to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. Tomorrow is shoulder and triceps day and I’ll be incorporating some of these. What makes your videos so great is not just the exercises but the detail in how to make them most effective. That is key. Thank you, gentlemen.
Very welcome
Female here just barely over 40 and I love and do all these moves! 💕 Thanks guys.
Awesome!
Hi I'm from California I'm 46 where u from love working out
Paul is an F'n straight up beast!! He puts in the work and he gets the results!
I appreciate the support!
I only train at home and am happy to know you recommend these because I do them regularly. And at age 61, this video was made for me, lol.
thank you Richard!
Im 54 and only workout at home too,I want more equipment all the time. I will be getting a half rack squat stand soon,I want a better set-up then when i was young and dumb.👍
Hey Paul. Just wanted to say congratulations on being featured in Men's Health and Yahoo News👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you
Good stuff here, Paul. I'm 53 and don't bench heavy anymore after a bicep tendon tear years ago, so these dumbbell exercises done to failure (@ lighter weight) will be my new workout.
Great approach!
Thank you for doing these videos. It really helps to see what we should do as we get older.
Great work, thanks . Much appreciated.
Awesome as always. I appreciate the both of you!
Thanks again!
Almost perfect video. Quality instruction with the movements well documented. Light weights instead of bragging about how much we can do. As a heavy walker I appreciate the emphasis on lower impact aerobics That you do Paul. I watch your videos before my daily exercise to get me in the right frame of mind...
A great video Paul and John which will help to keep the over 50s in tippity top condition.
How about another video Paul with your top ten core floor exercises that can be done at home?
Thanks for the well thought out, top quality presentations.
Good stuff, thanks for doing this one guys!👍🙏 I'm pushing 60 and doing the transformation challenge, and will definately be adding these dumbell movements into my plan.
Thank you
Great workout guys with a perfect 10 exercises that work the entire body especially for older guys, thanks for sharing and making the video!
Lovin the change of scenery
Thank you
Thank you so much Paul
It's good to see some tips for strength training over 50 as we need to look after our joints and 'work the muscle' rather than lift the weight at this age.
Awesome information as always Paul! I have always hit all three heads of the delt, and have credited never having rotator cuff issues, even as a 56 year old man, because of it!
yes!
Love this content, lots of home workouts happening due to current world conditions ….. looking slim Paul 🥊😎👍🇦🇺
I have some basic stuff at home - some DBs and a bench. Fantastic little video 👌
Glad you enjoyed it
Good video🔥‼️
What is the sets and reps for this workout thanks
Thanks Paul & John. I normally do my behind the head tricep extension on an incline just like you but with a tricep bar. When I do use dumbbells, I usually have the two dumbbells squeezed together and it actually brings a bit of upper chest into it which is kinda neat. I love the stretch at the bottom.
Thank you!
this is the best full body bumbbell workout i've ever seen
I really appreciate that!
Awesome moves for everyone! I like training with tendon health in mind.
for sure!
🙌🙌Awesome
Great video.
Great instructions!! Great video!! I’m 65 and I hope this will help me get rid of that stubborn pouch in my belly that I’m trying to get rid of.
Great video and exercises.😎😎💪💪
Glad you like them!
I will be 55 in May and still in great shape. Working out at home now and loving it. It can be done
Keep it up
Glad I found this channel
Me too!
Hay guys great job on the video thanks💪
Fan-friggin'-tastic! I'm only sub'd to three fitness channels now. Was 11...I get everything I need here. Great content as usual! BTW...I am 50, have had 5 back surgeries (2 fusions), three shoulder (2 minor rotator cuff repair), 4 knee surgeries (all on left knee), two ankle, and just had my neck fused (c5-c7) in November. I'm always having to get back in shape, and it happens for me when I follow your routines. Seriously aporeciate your uploads!
Too kind thank you Snapp
Thanks for this. I am primarily into cycling, but for overall health and fitness I do a couple of days per week of strength training as well. A number of these will add nicely to my routine, including some that will even help with my riding,
this will help with cycling!
He Paul
good video
i am close to 60 and looking for a good workout for some time now
I will definitely try these exercises
Thanks
Happy to hear it!
I am going to start this tmr. Ty
Welcome
I love the single dumbbell waiter curl. Note: if I have an incline bench available, I'll lie chest down like you guys did your spider curls. Great Bicep contraction.
yes it is!
Thank you, I do the majority of these from home with my barbells. At 53 I appreciate watching someone else do the lifts so I can keep a mental note on how to lift it properly. Where is John's RUclips channel?
ruclips.net/user/naturalolympia
Use to see John at my gym years ago when he lived in IL. You guys got a good one down there.
Thanks Dan, I appreciate that!
Thanks Guys!
Our pleasure!
Basic movements are underrated!! People over complicate it ! Good vid
I agree 100%
I’m over 55 and I have neck and shoulder problems but want to get my body back in shape
Excellent! 53 and still weight training. Luckily with no pain.
Awesome
Thanks Gents ! + 63 doing these with a little Weights ! All Good !
Great job!
Great video. So many people think they need really sophisticated workout equipment to get the job done. You really do not. And if you know how to increase the intensity bodyweight exercises are great too.
Always come back to the basics and consistency
im 42 but some days i feel more like im 50 lol, i walk, fast , do regular isometric exercisers because im on a budget and ive lost 20lbs since march (3 months), i need to step it up a gear and that why i found your channel. Thanks for all your great content, it is really the best advice ive found so far.
I dont want to build muscle, I just want to look even and fit.
45 yrs old here and PT..I like the coffin dumbbell press better than the standard flat bench dumbbell press.. I really like the coffin at a 45deg then drop to 30deg then 15 deg and then flat.. 3 sets of those.. using lighter weight than normal.. Great volumetric workout. I also prefer the Bulgarian splits over the squats.. Now we are missing some posterior deltoids in there though.. Got to maintain that balanced aesthetic look.. Good video and truthfully a great workout for some keeping is simple and keeping in shape..
i will give that a try!
Great video! Do you recommend doing this as a circuit or perform each exercise fully before moving to the next?
for these movements I would suggest twice per week, full body workouts doing 2-5 sets of 10 reps per set.
Many thanks for the information you provided for the older 50 plus. many people over 50 have joint problems. very great helper. Obesity Code a bestselling book you can also download it for free.
Thanks for this. I hit 55 last month and was looking for this type of content. Now I just have to find safe ab exercises. I worry about getting another hernia.
So welcome
Some bodybuilders don't do abs. I just heard one say the other day that by working out period you are working them out indirectly. This guy was a bodybuilder and said he doesn't work his abs. And they looked great.
A good exercise for abs that is tolerated well for hernia patients is the stomach vacuum
I'm 53 and enjoy the dumbbells and or machine workouts vs free weights and barbells not because I'm weak or injured but just to keep healthy going forward in years.
appreicate the feedback!
im 70 still deadlift 315. squat reps 315. squat rep day 135/20 185/15 225/12 275/8 185/20
That's awesome, you are my goal!
@@PaulRevelia thank you ....
Thanks for this. I'm now down 14lbs from 240. 6'4". While my belly still has a ways to go, my arms, shoulders and chest need some muscle.
You got this!
how many reps and sets do you recommend?
This is good information, thanks for that. I'm a 52 year old man, and I'll be using some of this for sure.
But I've got to say, I was a little surprised to see John drop the weights at the end of the spider curls. That kind of thing will get you kicked out of most gyms.
John is a gentleman in the gym, and the gym we were at is not kicking anyone out for being loud or strong...it's filled with huge lifters, even NFL players from the Bucs. It's about knowing your environment.
All good exercises for any gender or age group.
Good point
Great Video. I hope it will be still effective if I would split those 10 exercises into 2 different workouts with 3 sets per exercise. 10 Exercises with 3 sets for example seems to be a little bit to much for me .
yes 2-5 sets.
@@PaulRevelia thank you 👍
Awesome!!! Any recommendations for sets reps and frequency?
i would do this twice per week. start with 2 sets of 10, gradually work up by adding a set each week to 5 sets per session.
@@PaulRevelia awesome! May just give this a shot. Does it matter that I’m not a “beginner”. Just looking to mix it up after a year or so of split training.
How would one use the chest press to put more emphasis on the triceps, if that was the desired effect?
As I've continued watching the vid, I see you demonstrated an incline tricep move. I'll try that...TY
Pressing more narrow
Did he indicate recommended set/reps? I just bought a bench and ready to get back to it, 51yo. No weights in 20 years.
Next time, I would be a really great idea to do a video of home dumbbell exercises for people who don't have a bench
do the same movements, just remove the bench, standing DB Curl instead of spider. Standing overhead tricep extension instead of incline bench...etc.
@@PaulRevelia Ah ok, cool. Thanks for the info :)
Hé Paul
How many sets and reps is best
This is even suitable for women over 50 😁
absolutely!
First day impressions:It arrived in a waist high box. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 Each dumbbell was in its own foam box within the shipping box. Everything was secure and in good shape. No weird smells. The weight changing mechanism is really smooth and straight forward. Changing weight is really fast and easy. Though the handle is plastic, I don't think it will be breaking anytime soon. So far pretty impressed after my first session with them. I was afraid they were going to be too wide at first, but I didn't have any issues with them while doing upright rows.
👍💪
Thank you!
Hammer curls
Always!
I like using dumbbells and a heavy-duty burst resistant stability ball instead of a bench.
great idea!
@@PaulRevelia I have the one from Power Systems. Holds up the 500 lbs. They have a much stronger one also.
Thanks Paul you trying to say I'm old
it's all about how you feel!
Have a heart condition. Should I use smaller weights more reps. What about rest time between?
that's a Dr question!
Finally got Daniel Craig on the show!
Haha
Thanks. I wished you emphasized more pulling exercises. Most meat heads do way too much pressing and not enough pulling.
With DB’s?
Are you doing one set of each to failure?
U keep saying ur over six ft, but because of the position of the camera it’s hard to believe until ur standing next to another person, then u can really see it 😂
yeah i put the camera at eye level by myself.
Hi Paul you say 2 to 3 Sets per exercise how many Reps cheers age 57
10-12
How many times a week, sets and frequency ?
Because this would be a full body workout I would do 2 to 3 sets per exercise twice per week
@@PaulRevelia Great, thanks champ
Start with ten pounds , five pounds each,? Try and error increase weight or reps? Thanks
Focus on the rep ranges, 10-15 reps and allow the weight to be defined by how you handle it with good form, progress over time.
Bench recommendation?
I got mine from Rogue, it's fantastic.
What about people like myself with artificial shoulder joints? My surgeon told me I had a 30 pound weight limit but I can’t find any exercises that are geared towards people with artificial shoulder joints.
i am not an expert on that and you should always follow the advice of your Dr. or Physical Therapist.
I`m 65, 105 kg. I have 2x18 kg dumbbell sets. They not are enough for all sets if I get developing. Very hard to get reps down to ten. I looks like couch potato, if someone think mister universe type guy.😁
Yes more weight would help!
I'm barely starting back into my routine
Sounds like y’all filmed this at an interstate on ramp.
was a better option than inside the gym.
How about doing a video for women over 50????
I’ll see what I can do
All these same excercises can be applied to women over 50.
I just use the men's set list. It's not anything special.
You can do it.
@@wyleecoyotee4252Thanks will do.
😀😀😀
Thank you!
No abs exercises?
Range of motion of bench press looks like floor press.
I’m not over 50, but algo
Thank you!
redo this video when you are not by the freeway.
😂😂
People that lean on the dumbbell rack to do rows are a-holes and inconsiderate for being in the way! Go get a bench! Lol
Not if it’s your own gym
@@PaulRevelia now that’s a fact 😁
