Is it possible to fall in love with a movie? If so, I think I've fallen in love with this one! So sweet and hopeful! The kiss in the woods scene is one of the most perfect movie moments ever. The excellent soundtrack makes it even more perfect.

The solidarity of Leah and ultimately by Sandra, standing by her son. And the look of disgust in some of the people and Sandra's defiance towards this disgust. This scene ultimately is able to stand alone, pure cinematic gold.
It's a perfectly pitched film. And it understood intersectionality long before that was a buzzword. It's about sexuality, but also about poverty, addiction, racism, sexism, and how they all interact. And yet it's sweet and hopeful.

I was with a bunch of fans who met Jonathan Harvey in 1999 at the off-off-Broadway premiere of the play (which, I might add, is great). Fun fact: The extras (neighbors, etc.) were paid £5 for standing around in the scene.
i saw this movie when i was just a 16. I was so in love with this movie, It really spoke to me and showed me that love, happiness, and acceptance really can come true. and this song is soo beautiful, i wanna go back in time but without that gay hate and just live gay and happily.

The mother in this movie has such a look on her face at the end - like a tigress guarding her cub. It's beautiful.
