I really loved how Physically Strong Michael was in this movie. He used a knife here and there. But he used his physical strength the most in this movie. And it's cool to see because at the beginning his character was clearly aging when they had him in the mental institution.
Yeah and I know just amazing acting on James's part. Even ageing Michael can still kick ass you wouldn't he's even ageing unless you see him of course.
He is truly amazing in the role of Michael. You can really see how he has put so much thought & effort into playing this iconic character. He nailed it.
I just saw the movie and it was good. Thank you John Carpenter for creating your last Halloween movie. James did good playing the character of Michael Myers.
Ryan Zolkiewicz sorry to tell ya but there is gonna be a sequel because michael myers escaped that burning bunker basement then when they showed the burning basement he was not there then at the ending of credits you can hear him breathin’
This is one the toughest characters that anyone could play in any genre! I'd you don't play it great you will be criticized very harshly by the fan base, I'm a true fan and I think he has done a fantastic job! This man seems very genuine and philosophical outside of being The Shape, great job James! Keep it up man!
Just watched Halloween Kills (2021) and this guy once again killed it again in the movie 20x better than the previous version great storyline I am so glad this guy is the actor of Micheal Myers he is great at it all we need now is another Jason Vorhees storyline like this with a great actor at it i really hope they do make another Friday the 13th
Just saw this movie this past Friday, I LOVED IT!!!!!! The Darkness that This Michael Myers was Magic, Pure Platnum. The Rob Zombie Versions were Unwatchable, No Connection to the actual story AT ALL. He Tried to do Too Much and Ended up not doing Anything. Hats off to Jamie Lee Curtis and Jim Courtney for a Job Well Done!!!
Loved everything about halloween 2018 everything from strode to myers the mask the story the history michael is truly the def of evil in its self, the way he walks the way he changes his kills always being unexpected, fav scene has to be when the doc puts myers in the vack of the crusier and tells Allyson thats he only sleeping then the mask is gone and allyson looks up boom michaels looking at her then just pushes the back cage into the seat shuving doc into the wheel, 40 years later and better fucking loved it and this was the best one since 1978, love it and just adking who thinks there will be anothrr or who beleives michael burnt up in the fire?
@4:40 “If a cat kills a mouse, is it evil?” I mean, if the cat put on a mask, and tormented the mouse forever, and if the mouse kept shooting the cat with a gun a billion times and the cat still lived, yeah, I’d say the cat is evil.
I've just had deja vu because James has explained Michael's actions of what he does the same way I view them and how I've tried getting my mum and brother to view them wow.
Definitely the best since Castle/Warlock. Once halloween ends comes out he might just pass both of them. He was so brutally amazing in kills, can wait to see the final film
@@huf_fitness26 still love the Jude, but my god DGG and Danny McBride fucked this franchise over 🤣. James Jude Courtney definitely did an amazing job as The Shape, and that’s a hill I’ll die on lol, but don’t worry I’m not a fan of the new trilogy, 2018 is alright, and Kills has a shite scrip, but awesome….well, kills lol. But over all, not a fan of the trilogy.
@@PyroMite0213 I agree with you 100%. Jude was the best Myers we have had in a long time. But man they dropped the ball big time with ends lol I won’t be buying it on dvd and as far as I’m concerned it’s no longer a trilogy to me I’m trying to forget ends
James seems like a nice guy. His portrayal already seems iconic...and I haven't even seen 3 full minutes of it, yet. I have a feeling the "handing of the torch" scene may be in the bathroom stall, cause I'm almost certain that's Nick Castle's hand holding the teeth...either that, or, the house scene w/ Michael (Nick) in the mirror, after (James) killing the babysitter.
When Laurie first see's Michael again, I believe in the mirror, that's Castle, then when it's cuts to a closer up of the mirror, that's James. Like a mirror Close up/Closer up transition.
Other than Nick Castle James Jude Courtney is the only actor to play Michael Myers that has embodied everything that The Shape stands for. The others I feel tried too hard but this guy has done it the best
I was impressed by his take on Michael Myers. I also love that they dropped the brother/sister storyline. The less we know about our slashers and whats drives them the better imo. That was my biggest problem with all these slasher remakes is that they felt the need to tell you WHY they turned to killing...I don't want to know.
My favorite part was when he bent over and looked in the window at the girl fantastic by him and the film crew! Also when the kids came up to him and the way he turned and started walking to the garage brilliant! Nick was good , but he was just a plus with performance!
I know a lot has been said about how good Jamie Lee Curtis was in this film (and she was even though she shouldn’t have even been in it) but Courtney was the real star of this film. He was so perfect as the shape!!!!
Excellent movie and he played a good Myers took me back to the 80s now it feels like halloween this year great sound track shame it's the last 1 by John carpenter great way to end on a high note just don't let j.j. Abrams get his hands on it
He is such a nice man. I can't believe he is so bad in the movie. I am very glad I found this interview with him. My English is not very good, but I understood almost everything. Hugs from Spain.
your very very awesome as playing the shape aka micheal myers your the very best ive ever seen in the halloween movie thank u for playing the role im a real fan i have been since the very first halloween movie came out i hope to c u do a sequeal halloween 2 2019 take it easy and thanks again for playing the new michel myers
Unbelievably good Myers. He made him scary again that’s for sure. He understood the movements so well it added believable unpredictability and qualities to Myers character that felt like a literal continuation of the 78 character to me. I became scared and even more interested in the character of Myers after seeing the new movie.
Who can teach you how to portray Michael Myers better than the original Michael Myers. Awesome passing of the "really big, sharp kitchen knife", Nick. :)
This guy killed it. An excellent Myers.
hellawaits77NY
I totally agree
I was so caught up with the movie...I forgot Michael was 61 years old. I guess a supernatural curse knows no age.
@@3912James he's not considered supernatural in this timeline
Good one lol
So did castle and warlock
He is honestly the best Michael Myers since Nick Castle. Phenomenal!
Exactly and that’s what makes it so much scarier
His Michael was spot on. And for the first time ever, I actually sympathized with the character. How did he do that? Amazing performance.
He worked with Nick some to get the walk he created down but he also spent a lot of time with actual CATS,viewing their slow movements.
What do you mean he worked with actual CATS?
BelleBeast ?
He studied there slow movements to mimick how they move so
Michael could move around like a sneaky cat.
BebeLush2 not gonna lie, I was rooting for Michael Myers when I saw it in theatres!
He seems a very deep and philosophical guy...who made an excellently brutal and terrifying Michael.
Maybe it’s the hat 😂
Nah, it's totally the beard. 😂
he's a hippy basically
He is the BEST Michael Myers by far! Excellent performance in the new movie!
He is truly amazing in the role of Michael. You can really see how he has put so much thought & effort into playing this iconic character. He nailed it.
He did a phenomenal job playing Myers.
Killed it as Michael myers no pun intended
:D
The Shape drinking from a baby water bottle...😂🍶
We now have the best three Michael Myers!
Nick Castle.
Dick Warlock.
James Jude Courtney.
My thoughts exactly
Tyler main was one of the scariest myers
@@Yxsukawa_
Definitely the most physically imposing of them all.
What about my man George P Wilbur?
Dick Warlock is one of the worst Michaels. His head made the mask look too fat and stretched out, and his walk was too robotic and stiff.
I'm glad Jim is the one who got the torched passed to him by Nick. The 2 Best Michael Myers.
Tyler Mane 2nd
Didn't care for Zombies remakes. But its cool if you dug them. Tyler is a huge presence, thats for sure.
@@MattDeloff_Online Dick Warlock's version is good too
Dick Warlocks portrayal was amazing as well.
RedHood
Wilbur was way too robotic imo
Great interview. He is a great Michael Myers.
His version reminds me of Dick Warlock's version
Jake Rattle I agree exactly and Dick Warlock was my favorite version personally.
He did great
@@seanerschen1180 mine as well Halloween 2 was actually the first one I saw as a child
That is the most tiny water bottle I've ever seen
You joking look at the size of his hands
I was gunna say...it's that the shot bottles of..H20? LOL
they are actually very common, you can get 80 bottles in a pack instead of 35
Only movie stars drink those.
He’s also a very large man
I just saw the movie and it was good. Thank you John Carpenter for creating your last Halloween movie. James did good playing the character of Michael Myers.
Carpenter didn't really do much apart from music
Well I saw the movie and was garbage
Probably the best Halloween movie after the original

@ truth
James did absolutely an amazing job best shape next to nick castle
The sirens going by and the two mens reactions was so funny !
SAY SOMETHING!!! Lol, loved his portrayal of Michael Myers and loved the new Halloween.
He's incredibly good!!
The way he moves his body in the film is what stuck with me the most.
Such a great actor and humble guy :-)

This guy was F*CKING TERRIFYING as Myers. He was hands down the best in the series.

He looks so good for his age
Why cant you say that he just looks good? Why does it have to be "for his age"
Not many men look good for his age..he's one of the exceptions
He even looks the part without the mask. He has a Rutger Hauer vibe to him; seemingly normal yet haunting.
