A lot of people around me said this movie is boring. But I think what is great about this movie is that it’s the most realistic love story that normal people will experience. Not everyone’s love story is full of drama like we see in media, in fact it’s often really simple. This movie perfectly tell that simple story in a beautiful way
Tamako love story hits so hard the first time ive watch it and still does no matter how many times i rewatch it. Its one of those anime where it doesnt need a giant fandom like jojo or a giant reputation like one piece or demon slayer to be loved Which the movie ironicly goes back to what tamako said Its so small, yet it makes many kinds of people happy JUST LIKE A MOCHI
"She makes small feel big." You nailed it right on the head. KyoAni, and Naoko Yamada in particular, just manages to make the small things feel the most important. The smallest gestures (The famous Naoko Yamada leg shots) say SO MUCH without saying anything directly. Tamako Love Story is one of my favorite movies because it doesn't try to be more than it is. It's a simple love story that manages to evoke the most powerful emotions. Another great video!
Thank you Liem! Super happy you enjoyed it. And I agree, it’s a simple love story that makes you feel everything. Naoko Yamada is truly one of the goats.
I love this show because it further cements the tropes that make naoko yamada an excellent director. So much visual story telling and world building for a 12 episode show and short movie I can almost visit each individual shop in my mind. The episode in which midori gets sick is my favorite I love when she dedicates an epsidoe to building a side character through a small but real hardship, which she did in k on with grace. I don't recommend this to anime fans but to fans of film and directing its an excellent film study while also showing you how to write and animate realistic characters. Kanna was best girl
This movie really captures the feelings and emotions of the characters and expresses each emotion perfectly. And how it all unfolds through each event. Loved this movie 🧡 Also, love your videos, they are always wonderful ✌️
I often go back and watch reviews or personal videos from other people of film media that I've watched in the past. I love to hear someone else's opinion on something I truly hold dear to my heart, that's why to me, your channel is such a nostalgia trip. It just always makes me want to re-watch these shows. Amazing! :) Can't wait for more.
In story telling the climax sometimes has the supporting character sacrificing themselves for the main character. In Tamako Love Story it was done beautifully when Midori sacrificed her feelings for Tamako's happiness. That's what love looks like. Special kudos to Rieko Yoshida who wrote the series and the movie. The director is always limited by the script. Yamada had the advantage of a strong script to direct.
This was a hard one to make, for many reasons. But something that I thoroughly enjoy is diving deep into a film like this and explore everything there is to offer. With the film, but mostly with myself. Watched this movie for the first time today and it's really good. Will definitely be rewatching it as a comfort movie moving forward! Also great review this was outlined and covered super well doing it justice!
While I don't think it's a "perfect" love story, I cannot deny that it is an amazing love story. If you'd like my recommendations for what I feel are perfect love stories, then please watch Fruits Basket. I know you like to read manga, so I'd highly recommend Bloom Into You as it is short (45 chapters), and The Quintessential Quintuplets - even though the anime is almost done with it lol Great video, Kaze
Thanks Kaije! I’ve been meaning to get into Fruits Basket, Bloom Into You and The Quintessential Quintuplets, especially the former. I’ve heard great things about all three, so I might start them soon 🙂
Absolutely love this video! It's such a good review on the movie, i watched both the movie and this today and i gotta say, you absolutely destroyed your limits with this one!
Yeah, but don’t worry too much. The film can be watched as a standalone for the most part. Watching the series then benefits for added details, nuance and depth of a few characters, but the main conundrum between Mochizo and Tamako is essentially the same.

This. It’s one of the most realistic love story I’ve seen too, not just in Anime, but in cinema as well.
this. just neighbors that has been there since you’re still a child, so realistic and simplistic

It's unfortunate Yamada had to leave KyoAni in the aftermath of the 2019 arson incident.
I wish small channels like this could get more attention for such well-made videos
Thank you for your kind words! That honestly means a lot 🙏

One of the best love story movie ever.
Best romcom anime movie I’ve seen in my life
Damn... It's amazing how you achieved to encapsulate all these feelings in just 16 minutes. What a great video, really.
Thank you! That really means a lot, really 🙏
Love the K-On art style of this anime.

i hear synthwawe music in background....that makes everything perfect lol
I still say some of the best love stories in anime are
Tsuki ga Kirei (
Absolutely love this video! It's such a good review on the movie, i watched both the movie and this today and i gotta say, you absolutely destroyed your limits with this one!

Just an perfect video
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Kyoto animation is perfection
It really is.
Ohh man,i think i fucked it up. I watched the movie first, was i supposed to watch the series before it? Lol
Yeah, but don’t worry too much. The film can be watched as a standalone for the most part. Watching the series then benefits for added details, nuance and depth of a few characters, but the main conundrum between Mochizo and Tamako is essentially the same.
@@KazeTalks yeah,i got really confused with the talking bird part, but i enjoyed the rest.
I did the same thing 😂
💜💜💜
🙏🙏🙏
Is Tamako love story a film or a tv show? I got a little confused.
is ending sad or happy?
