you're very welcome man!! I know how that is. Hive is such a rewarding synth! next week were gonna get into LFOs, Function Generators, and the Shape Sequencer!
4:42 what does it do when you gointo negative values? it's like the opposite of what's in the mod adsr? so for example if the attack is at 0 and you go with the mod knob 100% negative does that mean the attack now is the longest?
When you go into negative values, all its doing is inverting the modulation shape. Lets say you got an envelope with a slower attack, when its positive, it slowly opens the filter, letting more high freq content pass, if you however go into negative values, it will close the filter for the attack phase
Yeah it's just inverts the values. With a slow attack and positive modulation, the filter opens, and with a long attack and negative modulation, the filter closes during that phase. It can be a little tricky to wrap you head around it, but mess around with it a bit and it'll click and not seem so confusing
Your lessons are short, efficient and delightful ! Thank you !
That's great to hear! You're very welcome!! 🤙🤙
That "hidden parameter" tip is gold! cheers!
its one of the may things I love about hive
Thank you, thank you. I am trying to learn a million things at once but Hive is definitely next on my list. LOVE THESE SERIES :)

@@jonaudio aah! so, what changes is the "direction" of the parameter that's being modulated, not the envelope itself as I thought🤦♂. Thanks Jon!
