you work so carefully and really give what your clients want. i just got the worst haircut yesterday and i’ll be in a cap for the next month. knowing there’s barbers like you, incredible man. incredible work.
I feel for you. I’ve gone to the same hair cutter for over ten years, not on a regular basis any more, but when I decide my hair needs a good trim, in all the time I’ve gone to her she gave me a cut and style that I really loved ONE time! 😐
It’s the hair making you think that he’s good looking. It creates that illusion. Seen plenty of these long haired good looking dudes turn into donkeys after short cuts lol
I love how you also educate the client on how to style their hair. You are a master at your craft. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and inspiration ❤
@@MidsummerNightScream @MidsummerNightScream I am referring to any client he has, whether female or male 🙄 "Their" is a plural possessive adjective. GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

Your consultation is amazing. You asked some very important questions that really gave insight to what Lucas really wanted and why. I wish he had been willing to go with a shorter more textured cut. He has an awesome jawline and movement in his hair. He does not have "straight" hair like he thinks he has. You would have been able to work wonders giving him a shorter cut with more movement. Maybe later he will be willing to give a new style a try. Dan you are amazing! Not only do you have wonderful skill, but also the ability to see what would work on your client, hear what they want, and execute it. Even though I'm a woman and not in the business, I love watching your channel.
I always think about that episode of Fleabag, where the sister gets a bad haircut, when you have a consultation with the client. You help them help themselves by listening to expert advice. 🙌🏾👍🏾
Still a good length but with added body and texture, great job Dan, a lesser stylist might have cut it too short but you knew exactly what he was trying to put across.
You made this guy very happy. I wasn’t sure at the start just what you could do to give him a style but you did it! What did I doubt it? You always win!
I appreciate anyone who will spend the time to find out what you need done to your hair and who has good suggestions. I have really thick, coarse hair and plenty of it! I wear it short and really need a good cut. I have struggled for years to find a good stylist.
Anybody else notice how long that guys eyelashes were? I'm SO jealous. I'm glad he stuck with the long cut because he has very strong features and he can carry off that long look.
The barbering god strikes again 🫡.. Thank you master Dan it's always a pleasure watching and at the same time learning from your videos. More power to you and to your channel.
The consultation kinda felt like an intervention at times lol, like let's not get too crazy getting rid of that much hair, but it was worth it in the end. This style is very early to mid 90's, kinda deliberately messy, Lucas could go in front of the camera anytime with his new haircut 👍
Being a proper watch person/collector myself i love seeing various watches Dan wears over time , he’s got a great taste and an amazing collection (loving the cartier drive he’s wearing in the video)from the looks of it . Keep it up Dan!
Very cool hairstyle, communicating with the client and telling them all the pros and cons to get exactly what the client wanted. So often hairdressers do what they want with your hair. Well done Dan, good job 👏
Gorgeous guy. So happy to see you use that styling razor for more than texturing. It's a great tool. Could have done the whole cut with it. I use it 60% of the time.
Dan you have unique techniques while cutting hair. Never seen before. Quite impressive. Top notch professional. Enjoy your videos and always get excited to see the final finish.
The client is a pretty man whose face is made for long hair. He looks great and his hair has lots of body. As for the handsome barber I miss your long hair
I loved the part where Dan explains how those "pics" are taken! I've always said I would look so much better if I was followed around with a fan! I have the same texture hair
Just discovered this channel and am amazed with The Regal Gentleman. He is an artist and craftsman! A hair genius and a cool dude. And he gets cool customers!
Hey Dan. Awesome job ! You are doing such a professional job for the industry. If u don't mind, when you use the razor to texturize the hair, does it matter the angle you cut the hair depending on the head side your are working on?
fingers cross i have took a 3month trial of the all in one capsuals. as my hair thining is so depressing. if all fails then it's a buzz cut from here on out. loves your videos always on point and always a good outcome for your clients . 🤘
I have become a fan of your videos. I had a friend whose hair I would cut regularly. I enjoyed the process. He passed away suddenly almost 3 years ago. Will you explain that "goop" that you often style the men's hair with? You use a good teaspoon or more often.
Yes, a very cool modern take on a early-to-mid-90s look. It reminds me a bit of Keanu Reeves, young Marco-Pierre White or the band Suede particularly Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler in the early 90s. As someone who grew up (teenager) in the 90s, it is quite weird seeing 90s fashions coming round again. I was never stylish in the 90s and still I am not now! But thanks for these videos; it is fantastic to see a true artist at work.
I am not entirely convinced he was thrilled with that haircut. I think he wanted a shorter style, but got kind of convinced last minute to go longer route. Nice haircut tho I thought overall
Hi, another great video! I have a question though… last time I asked my hairstylist to try using razor, he said it would make my hair more prone to getting split ends and used thinning scissors instead. Could you tell me more about that? Thanks!
He might have explained about the thinning shears in this one, too. I can’t remember exactly. I just recently watched this one & the one above where I referenced about razor thinning. It stood out to me b-c it’s an interesting explanation about the thinning shears versus his razor way. I can’t give back his explanation, tho, b-c I can’t remember his exact words. Sorry. Sadly, I’m not good at repeating back accurately. Something about thinning shears giving a blunt straight cut & not growing out naturally & hair growing out puffy. Those aren’t his words but something like that. ruclips.net/video/pAfJS58BHQQ/видео.htmlsi=nzCoJkYXVbV9IfSX
I love this hair style and use to wear my hair just like this only I had a body perm in mine. I'm a male nurse and the girl's always envied my hair and still do.❤
The "Negotiation" part is especially fascinating. I'm not sure Lucas really got what he wanted, because he has one of those brains that struggles with decisions and limiting his options. I think that is why he went longer. In reality, taking the risk on a shorter style would have been much more transformative and more satisfying. Dan did a great job, like always, but I don't think the outcome was really that good because of the indecision of the client.
You can see the client's face go from hopeful, with a slight smile, to one of having given up, and no smile. He knew he had nowhere to go from there. I believe it was all the razor-cutting and thinning of the hair that broke his spirit.
If any, longer where the hair touch the shoulder would be even better. Any shorter than that is a waste! Dan was right to be conservative in cutting his hair.
I was actually hoping for a bit shorter, with more layers/texture. Yet it turned out UNIQUE, as well as so much MORE MOVEMENT than I expected, he surprised me with this cut, as he ALWAYS DOES... :).
Somehow you get all the good looking fellows come in for haircuts! I loved his hair because even if it looked straight, the thickness showed it would be malleable (shapable) because of it's dense nature, especially with the textured cut you gave it :). Well he looks totally sexy and handsome with this "new" hair! Love the new "movement" that it has, no longer a thick straight affair, but much more interest and movement. I bet he loves the feel of it, and the look. What a great haircut for this marvelous hair! He looks so fine!
definite yes! i still think the best hair style is months after you get that one and done buzz cut - then fully forget about it for about a year and that part depends on the individual's hair growth ability BUT the best hair style grows from it naturally from it that takes a bout a year from the original buzz cut. It has that perfect layered look to it, and for those who have natural wavey hair - growing back from a buzz cut turns out perfect. It almost grows out looking like (i call it) the Lord of the Rings men's hair style cut. but it is one of the best one for most male facial types.
Love Lucas' smile at the end! It says "Yes, look good!" Dan has the skills to give clients what they want.

So glad you suggested that length and textured layers-it gives him many more options...and the length is perfect on him!
