Funny thing is that China never wanted to conquer the world.
@@areebshaukat5840 And the other funny thing is that they legit saw China as the only part of the world that mattered, so bringing the outside world to China is the best possible answer to them. Conquering places outside the middle kingdom was only ever done to create buffer zones against steppe hordes and barbarians.
It seems so strange from an outside perspective, but from a Chinese one it is a lot more normal and goes back to old Taoist philosophy and the time before even the Qin Dynasty. In that part of the world throughout most of history, China was considered the prize. There's a reason why sinicization is a thing, and whenever foreigners conquered China _they_ changed thier culture to become more Chinese, rather than the other way around as what tended to happen everywhere else on Earth.

I thought this was video was really good except for the part about Suzhou. Southern China has had water and canals for a couple thousands of years. Also, the city doesn’t have any more Italian restaurants than any other big city in China does so I don’t think it’s accurate to say Suzhou is a copy of Venice because besides both having canals they are extremely different.
Exactly. the Suzhou canal (around 610) even have a longer history, compared to the Canal Grande (around 1300). The second point of suzhou is simply just not true at all. Also, in terms of the restaurant point, near the canal, or the old town Suzhou, there is barely any Italian cursine, not before and not now. In addition to that, Suzhou is a large city, and has the fifth economy in the whole country, so it is open to lots of different types of cursine form all over the world. You could find mostly every type of food you want in Suzhou.
yes that destroyed the video. Suzhou is not trying to be venice.
Canals are trademarked by white people.
Suzhou is a copy of Venice. The canals were built and regulated after witnessing Venice system.

Why go western when you can build your own western.
That's kinda the point. You get to experience multiple countries in your own country. Plus then the cash flow doesn't go out of China.
Also Chinese people have to get a mandatory "Exit Visa" to be able to leave the country which can be such a hassle for most so THIS is an easier much cheaper option!

Nothing can compare to the real thing. It's not just about buildings, it's about the culture. That's why cities like London and Paris could never be replaced.
Plus, it isn't as crowded in the real places.
its not about replacing, its about having similar things in thier own country, we know how eu and usa spreads propaganda against china and in future china will dominate world in various statistics, so chinese might not be able to travel to some parts, so they build their own, its tourist attraction and shows how nothing is unique if you work hard and want it.
They've almost been replaced.

It's the people that perpetuate the culture and make the city great.

Well, as a Chinese architect I have to say10-15 years ago, many private developers wanted to introduce western especially European styles to China to show people a different life style. Many odd buildings were built but in the last 5-8 years, this wave has stopped. Nowadays young people ( yes in China young people buy their own condo at a very early age, usually before 30), prefer modern style, traditional Chinese style , modern-oriental style more.
That's informative!
But I maybe there's a way for ordinary people to purchase this type of luxury. Affordable Installment

good choice. western buildings are great looking but mainly on the cultural part. I'd love going to Italy seeing Italian buildings with Italian people speaking Italian. Now, if I go to a place with Italian buildings but Chinese people speaking Korean eating sushi, I'd probably find it a little bit weird.
I'm glad China has now banned this because your traditional buildings and houses are beautiful, now if only we could of gotten along you wouldn't of weaponized the covid virus that is slowly going to kill us all as it keeps mutating except those who made it sure must have a vaccine that actually works, oh well it was good while it lasted
