- So wouldnt say its my favorite knife, as I have many favorites. And thus many favorites for different use. But this is on another level versitale. So have change a bit my opinion since my last video on the topic.

Duuuuude, its sweet, right??? Canadian Belt Knofe pattern is its iwn tbing. The original Russel Belt Knife won awards (check it out) and it is still made right here in Canada. The steel they (Grohmann is the conpany - check them out) uses desperately needs an upgrade, but it is the OG Canadian Belt knife. I feel unpatriotic though, because I prefer the LT Wright version. I think its even better than the original... 🤫
I own the Joker canadiense. It's ok, and excellent quality, but it isnt an LT Northern Hunter.
I have several LTs now, and one is the small northern hunter. Its a sweet blade too!

Its a hell of a knife. Ever since I got this one I've eyed other Canadian Belt knives too ,the design has proved to be a fantastic one. I know the Grohmann knives, and like the looks. Would probably be a fantastic for fishing/mushroom/foodprep knife. Aaand now a huge fan of LT Wright after this knife. Definitely will chek other knives from them. Thanx for watching

I just ordered the large northern hunter with the green micarta handle. Easily the most I have spent on a knife to date. I had contacted them and they got back to me almost immediately and said they were finishing up a run of these knives and they put me on the list. Three days later and the knife is on its way to me. I guess they can be hard to find (every supplier I checked was out of stock), so I feel fortunate to get the knife.
Niiiice! Its very nice knife. Seems to be quite hard to get. And yeah, I admit its expensive, but must say there are many knives in the same price category that doesnt come close to this. Curious to hear what you think of it! Thanx for watchimg my friend!🌲🔪🌲
@@OldForestBushcraftI have had the knife for a couple of days. Not much chance to use it yet, but the fit and finish is amazing, the handle is comfortable in my hand and the blade is scary sharp. I'm really looking forward to using it.
Never heard complaints of fit&finish with LTWK. They really do good job.
Love this knife, now after about 8 months of use, it must be one of my most used knives. Specially in summer, when I do lot of fishing, foraging, bushcrafting etc. at the same time. Then its great to have a versitale blade. At the moment its getting well deserved rest, as I take a bit more robust, pure bushcrafters and puukkos to the winter forests.

@@OldForestBushcraftI got the chance to use the knife a bit and it cuts really well but I find I need to watch the angle of the blade or it digs into the wood. I was just using it to whittle on a stick. Hopefully I can use it for some other tasks soon and learn how best to use it. Cheers!
Yeah, noticed that also. One needs to pay attention with the angle. Used it today a bit. Man that edge is shaaaarp. Actually one of the sharpest knives I own at the moment. 🌲🔪🌲@@8626John

Ok, Its just a habit. Have them always with if im in the forests, from autumn to summer. Just extra protection. Im out im the woods at least 3 times a week on averege.

Looking to get this model for Xmas because it resembles/seems like a LT Wrights closest blade type to that of my Bark River JX6 II magna-cut. And, I LOVE my knife. I know I will love that knife too. Thanks for sharing! Always open to you showing it off more to increase my anticipation on possibly receiving this beautiful tool! Subscribed 👍
This just on another level versitale: my most sliciest outdoor knife, like it more than many of my kitchen knives. And also one of my favorites with feathersticks. Love also in general curvy blade shapes. Thanx for watching and thanx for the sub!
@OldForestbushcraft Same here. The moment I received my JX6 II- that Long and Slicey belly is my favorite blade shape! Between the Large Northern Hunter, other Canadian styled "Leaf" belt knives, JX (Preparedmind101) knife series, Condor Black Leaf, CRKT Bot Deadlock, Nessmuk, and Ulu styled knives all possess this Long Bellied look. I am also open to other knives that posses this shape.

That's a very nice versatile blade indeed, first ting came to my mind in comparison to this was the Nessmuk which you already compared with fair points . A couple of other knives come to mind is the Joker Canadiense but that's a flat grind , the closest knife I have is the Tussle green river hunting knife also flat grind bought a knife blank and did the handle myself 😅 best knife I have for food prep . Really liking this Lt Wright but cannot justify the purchase right now .
Its a very nice blade. Imo genius design. The Joker Canadiense is something I have been actually looking. Maybe will get one. Should test Joker knives in general. The Brisa Nessmuk is a good knife also, good for food prep and very sturdy, with High Scandi. Used it quite a bit couple of years ago. Now I havent used it that much.

Great job on the video! New subscriber here. LT Wright is a great company. I just recently ordered the small northern hunter knife and I'm waiting for its arrival. I love knives myself. Yes they are slightly pricey, but it's a good investment for outdoor camping, etc. I have the LT Wright GNS 01 Saber Black Matte and it's a beast in my palms😊....btw, your English is just fine, you have that bushcraft voice.....keep it up brother.
I’ ve become a huge LT Wright Fan. Bought also recently the GNS scandi, also in O1 and black matte. Absolutely loooving it! Insanely comfortable handle. Has become one of my most used knife at the moment. I do also think they are a good investment. And you do get lot for the money. This one was cheaper than the new Full Tang moras…
btw. the small northen hunter is also on my (never ending) shopping list of new knives. Looks like a killer design.

Very good video. How does the sheath hold the knife? I'm always paranoid about having a knife fall out of the sheath while bushwhacking or bending over. Thanks for the information.
This is one of my concerns also with knives. And I feel that knife makers dont put enough effort on sheaths.
This sheath is extremely wellmade. And helds the knife well. I could've dona a leather forming to it also, but I actually changed the sheath. I bought from Brisa a nessmuk 125 sheath which is PERFECT for this. And then again this sheath was perfect for my Bravo 1.25 (hated the original sheath). Please check the video "my favorite knives of 2023". I think I show this sheath swap there. Nevertheless its a very very good sheath, maybe the best guality of all my bushcrafting sheaths. The Brisa nessmuk 125 its just even better fit.

Thanks for the reply! I should have finished watching the video before commenting, as you addressed the issue. I tried to find the large northern hunter in stock with no success, so I contacted L.T. Wright through their website and they got back to me almost immediately. Very impressed by how quickly they responded.
Somebody know, where to buy this knife in europe? Some web sites in europe?
Bought it from Lamnia. But I have no Idea where. Would guess, ordering straight from some US websites is the best bet.

@@zdenekbart yeah, definitely! I actually Pre-ordered it from Lamnia, to make totally sure that I got it. LT Wright knives seems to be hard to get. At least here in Europe.
